Hi
My CS (as opposed to CSS and CSSS) demand is always off the charts. I am looking for a plop highrise that would satisfy this demand and would aesthetically fit in my downtown business district....I know that i could zone for CS but generally the buildings don't offer much more than 300 workers.

I wonder if I can satidfy this demand, how my residential building would be affected in the suburbs

A lot of the highrises on the STEX have 2000+ jobs. In the city Im currently working on, I have a small strip of land covered in highrises and midrises [similar to that of Manhattan] and the Query says that they provide over 200,000 jobs. But I have A LOT of them. An entire island packed full if it helps put things into perspective. But no, I dont think there is a single highrise that will produce tens of thousands of jobs. But who knows?

Hope I helped!

I have the same question as maximum; no matter what I do, demand for CS$ and CS$$ is always really high; but there are relatively few buildings for these (especially CS$)... and when CO$$ and CO$$$ tanks, people start leaving cause they can't find jobs, when in reality, demand for CS is still sky high... the only problem is, there are no buildings to can hold plenty of CS jobs.

My question is, what type of buildings would count for commercial services? That is to say basically, if given good ideas, I could make a building to satisfy this need.

Isn't banking a service ?

Isn't a lawyer firm a service ? 9.gif

Seriously, I think the game needs some big CS $$ buildings. Like 4000+ jobs. I can't really find any on the stex, and if you plop the buildings that then grow [plopped but they grow from plopped land] they never get built over by other buildings right ? 9.gif

Most service buildings are stores, restaurants, gas stations, theaters, etc.Unfortunately, most of these types of places don't require highrises. The only service that could use them are hotels, since they employ the entire building. Lawyers would occupy an existing office building or a firm would buy their own building or build one for their lawyers to use, but they would still rent out the rest of the space to others requiring office space.

Professional buildings, which house private practices for doctors and dentists, could be considered office and service spaces simultaneously. The problem is there's no way to tell the game that such a thing can exist. Sad thing is that many CS$ are small buildings. so you'd have to litter your city with them in order to fill the demand. I don't mind it as there are a lot of small buildings in cities, even among the highrises. If there were a way to control what grows on zoning tiles that would make it easier, especially when one, like me, is trying to build a shopping district, which would help soak up the CS$ and CS$$ demand.

There are a few lots on the stex. Exaple, there is a Home Depot BAT that has 1934 CS$ and 486CS$$. Or another example, Office Depot 847CS$. Another is a Walmart Supercenter with 2088CS$ and 524CS$$. There are plenty out thete, they're just not high rises. Now, if you don't want real companies then I can't help ya there. But good luck finding something!

Check the RCI ploppables and the commercial section of the stex, or search "hotel." Also check the commercial sections of the lex and you should find some cs$ and cs$$ highrises, especially cs$$.
