I'm very curious as to how you will develop this mountainous island.

    Waianae, Maili and Makaha

    Your first stop is the Western region of Waianae, which consists of the city of Waianae and it's two suburbs, Maili and Makaha. Firstly, lets take a look at where Waianae and it's suburbs are located.
    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/isla_de_sueonos_tour_waianae.jpg align=middle vspace=10 border=0>

    You arrive at Waianae International Airport at mid-day. You step out of the aircraft and head down the gate tunnel out into the busy arrivals lounge. A Paradise Tours member of staff calls you over and hands you a tour guide. You step out of the airport terminal to be surrounded by flowers and greeted by a row of taxis. A friendly taxi driver offers you a lift to your hotel and you step into the taxi.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-Airport.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    As you are driven along the main street you are hit by the wonderous sight of the Waianae Highbury Stadium and sports complex and the awesome backdrop of Mount. Kaala. The taxi driver tells you that the Waianae Highbury Stadium is the home of the Waianae Football Club and the Waianae Warriors baseball team, who won the last National Major League Championship.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-Highbury.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    Your hotel is directly opposite the Stadium's Entrance Plaza and is surrounded by the sports complex and beautiful villas and small homes. You read the welcome letter that the tour operator gave you at the airport as you are driven to the hotel.

    Welcome to the Island of Dreams, Isla de Sue

    The island's main language is English, however cities and regions are mostly named in Spanish. This is meant to be aquote from your introductory paragraph.

    What a great new cj, i will certainly be following it, i like the name, but the other names of cities don't sound very Spanish to me, if you need help on names just PM me and will give you translations.

    Sunset Beach: Playa Del Atardecer.
    Golden Sands: Arenas Doradas.
    Pearl City: Ciudad Perla.

    I hope this helps, if you know Spanish i presume you would know this; if so just ignore this post. I couldn't translate the other names because they are not words that you would find in a dictionary and they have no meaning, unless it is Hawaian language.

    Waianae, Maili and Makaha - Day Two - Morning Day Two of your island tour and you'll be taking a look at the two suburbs of Maili and Makaha. You jump aboard your Paradise Tours minibus which will take you on the guided tour. At first you will visit the northern-most and closest suburb of Maili.

    Maili is a small suburb with a single high street running through it. The suburb is bordered by Makaha to it's south and fields to the North. The suburb is mainly made of rather high wealth residents who work in the large city but want to live in a smaller town.

    Waianae, Maili and Makaha - Day Two - Afternoon After touring Maili you hop on the minibus and head to the southern-most suburb of Makaha. The suburb of Makaha is a mix of lower wealth residential with industry and also higher wealth commercial buildings. Makaha is also the only suburb of the two (Maili and Makaha) to have a hotel as it is the commuter point between Waianae and Golden Sands.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Makaha-Hotel.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The Makaha Grand Hotel is a popular place for
    Waianae-to-Golden Sands commuters.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Makaha-Stock_Exchange.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The Waianae Stock Exchange is based in Makaha

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Makaha-Residential.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Residential districts are lower wealth in comparison to Maili

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Makaha-Industrial.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The manufacturing industry in Makaha creates many thousands
    of jobs as the only industrial sector between Waianae and Pearl City.

    As you finish lunch at the Makaha Grand Hotel and get ready to head back to Waianae, you glance over your tour guide and see what you're going to do tomorrow. Looking at the aerial image of Waianae, Maili and Makaha you decide to tour the fabulous Waianae Downtown district and stroll along the hotels that line the beach.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-Makaha-Maili.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    Next Update: Day three of your tour will go through the wonders of the Maianae Downtown district.
    Future Updates: At the end of day three you'll head by coach to the resort of Golden Sands for a two day stay touring the local towns of Redsands, the Golden Sands beach and resort complex and the islands only active volcano, Mt. Fuego del Diablo (Mt. Fire of the Devil).

    Rewright, Cjah, Traffic_Jam, Aleking, jacqulina, Iknowu: Thanks for your comments!

    Jerebannus XVI: Cities are mostly named in Hawaiian and are real Hawaiian places, otherwise they are named in English, such as Golden Sands and Sunset Beach. When I said places are mostly named in Spanish, I should have ellaborated that it is not the cities I was talking about, but actual places of interest such as the islands only active volcano, Mt. Fuego del Diablo (Mt. Fire of the Devil) as well as the capitals Olympic stadium, Estadio del La luz, The Stadium of Light.

    Everyone else: Please feel free to comment, anything you would like to add (constructive of course) would be greatfully appreciated by myself and the sims of the Island. Also, I don't want to reveal the exact event that occurs at the end of the tour (it's nothing major or serious, but afterwards my region and it's cities will be almost interactive. Your comments and ideas will actually be put into action as if you really lived there!

    Waianae, Maili and Makaha - Day Three You wake up on the third day of your tour relaxed and refreshed. After you've had your continental breakfast in the restaurant whilst listening to the traditional island music, you hop outside and start your final day in the city.

    Firstly, you decide to start right outside your hotel, with the Stadium & Sports complex. You tour the Football (Soccer) stadium, the Tennis courts and the Baseball arena.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-StadiumMontage.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    After touring the stadiums that you've looked at for the past two days from your hotel room balcony, you catch a taxi and head into the Downtown area. On your way you see how the low-rise buildings quickly become high-rise commercial buildings.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-Downtown_Start.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-Downtown_Closeup.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    Your taxi driver drives past three large towers, all identical. He tells you that these are the WSN Communication Towers, three companies joined together to form WSN and each tower houses each companies work-force. You can only tell them apart at night when each building lights up in different colours.

    The next sight is the largest building in Waianae, the Eon Commercial Centre. The ECC building holds many different companies and offices and was built to allow smaller companies from local suburbs and areas to have a prestige address in the city centre. You can rent entire floors or sections of a floor depending on the size of your business.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Waianae-EonCentre.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    You then pass the local HQ of Coca-Cola, the worldwide soft-drink company. Coca-Cola are aiming to build a local HQ in many of the large cities across the island to promote Coca-Cola throughout the islands many jam-packed holiday resorts. As a result, more Coca-Cola products are sold throughout the islands resorts than any other refreshment, bringing the companies regional profits to over

    Hey, looking good. Did you change the Highbury Stadium lot yourself? That looks great, I messed around with it a bit to get rid of the rowhouses and stuff but didn't have the patience to make it look as good as yours.
    Anyway, keep up the nice work and good luck.

    Golden Sands

    This is the fourth day of your island tour and finally you are moving on to another city. Today you'll be visiting the sea-side resort of Golden Sands on a two-day stop. For your first day the tour operator has arranged a coach tour of the area to see the sights, your second day can be spend by the pool or relaxing on the beach.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/isla_de_sueonos_tour_goldensands.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    As the sun breaks over the horizon filling the coach with orange light, the microphone bursts into life. The voice of the tour guide wakes up the man sitting across the aisle from you. The tour guide says Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning and welcome to the resort of Golden Sands. The local time is approximetely 8am and we will be arriving at your resort hotel within the hour. Enjoy your stay at Golden Sands, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask a member of staff.

    As you stare out of your window all you see is ocean, tinted orange by the rising sun. Fifteen minutes later and that sight is broken by the distant view of houses and tall buildings. A further 35 minutes on and you see the resort hotels, lined up along the beachfront, and sure enough, you see a Coca-Cola stand. The coach pulls up outside your hotel, you go in and get checked-in.

    Your Resort Hotel for the next two days

    After checking in and relaxing at the bar with a refreshing cocktail you and many other holiday goers converge at the front terrace to get back on an open-top bus for the tour. The bus is rather large and have comfortable seats, drink holders in the chairs and even a minibar on the lower floor. You have a strange feeling that you are going to really enjoy this open-air bus tour.

    Everyone:
    Thanks for all your comments so far, they are what makes doing a CJ a whole lot more worth-while.
    The Pearl City update will be coming along shortly, however please bear with me on the updates following that as it may take me a little while longer.

    Mentarman:
    The Highbury Stadium is-as original. I have not changed it in any way. I do not know why my Highbury Stadium looks better than yours, maybe it's just differing graphics card specs. 42.gif

    Jerebannus XVI & jacqulina:
    Thanks! Nice to see you following the development of my CJ. It's much appreciated. 9.gif

    Pearl City

    Your sixth day on the island takes you to Pearl City. The city is smaller than Waianae and the resort of Golden Sands however it's size plays an advantage in tourism as many tourists come to the city to escape big downtown areas and large resorts for a more secluded and natural area. The city, based within a large naturally formed port was the first city to build an intra-city ferry network to transport people from one side of the port to the other, eliminating the need for a long commute around the outskirts.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/isla_de_sueonos_tour_pearlcity.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    After an hour-long journey from the resort of Golden Sands, your coach drives past the Pearl City Regional Airport, a small airport for domestic regional-only flights.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-Airport.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    As you pass the airport you can see the industry to your right, mainly made up high tech and robotic engineering. Up ahead you see the towering green steel that makes up the Pearl Bridge which crosses the entrance to the natural port. As you reach the end of the bridge you see the city's power stations.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-BridgeandPower.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    As you gaze at the buildings and the ocean your coach turns down a road surrounded by hotels and apartments. The coach pulls up outside your hotel, everyone gets off the coach and you are checked in. Your hotel is within walking distance of the small downtown area and parks.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-YourHotel.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    You're only spending one day in Pearl City before moving on, so you decide to make the best of it and hop into a taxi to get the best sights. You head for the small downtown district first, and then head northwards on a round trip of the city.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-Downtown.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The small Downtown District borders the central avenue and is surrounded by parks and grass

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-Library.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    The grand library in Pearl City.
    An odd sight amongst the office buildings.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-CastleKeep.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    You stop off at what remains of the ports castle and keeps. Originally the castle was
    around five times larger than it is today however a fire damaged much of it. What was
    left was later refurbished and a mote was dug around it to act as a historical park.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-HealthyLiving2.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    One of the HealthyLiving clinics in Pearl City. This one in
    downtown has a mini-sports complex and is one of a
    branch of around 15 clinics across the city.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-HealthyLivingHospital.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Heading nortwards you see the HealthyLiving Compay's greatest acheivement. The huge
    HealthyLiving Hospital is the first of it's kind on the island and offers completely privatised
    5 star healthcare and relaxation.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/PearlCity-NorthBay.jpg align=baseline border=0>
    Heading North-West around the port you reach North Bay, a small downtown area
    and housing allows citizens to live away from the hussle and bustle of downtown
    without sacrafising good schools, shopping and jobs. An AirSenuos jet passes overhead
    on it's way to the Pearl City Regional Airport, probably came from Waianae, a three hours
    drive by car, air travel gets you there within the hour.

    After spending most of the day touring the city you go back to your hotel and check out the notice board to see the cruises that leave from Pearl City. Later you relax by the poolside and have a fabulous dinner before going to your room for a sleep. You don't have to get up so early in the morning as you're leaving Pearl City at 11am for the hour long trip to Mililani, where you'll only spend six hours taking in the sights before the three hour train ride to Sunset Beach.

    Next Update: You spend six hours in Mililani taking in some of the sights. Later you hop on the top class Virgin Train for a three hour ride to Sunset beach. On the way you'll speed through a small town a little south of Sunset Beach. You'll arrive at the Sunset Beach train station at around 10pm and you'll rest in your hotel until morning, when you'll spend two days in a world class resort.

    Mililani Your seventh day on the island and you're at the city of Mililani, a mixed wealth city. You arrive at Mililani (pronounced Mil-ill-arn-ee) at midday and will be leaving again at 6pm for the train ride to Sunset Beach.

    isla_de_sueonos_tour_mililani.jpg

    Mililani is the poorest major city on the island. With a population of just over 55,000 the city is mainly low-rise residential buildings. The local government wants to target businesses to move to the city for it's good transport links in road (the central highway runs through Mililani), rail (King's station acts as the regional hub for the Western, Northern and Eastern Mainlines) and air.

    Your hotel is in the heart of the latest residential development scheme in the city, a scheme which is hoped to expand over existing housing estates.

    Mililani-Hotel.jpg

    Based in the North Estate of Mililani your hotel offers the very best that Mililani has to offer in residential development. Whilst schools and healthcare facilities are still being planned for the North Estate, access to road and rail offer relatively quick commutes to downtown offices.

    Mililani-North.jpg

    In the Downtown district of Mililani businesses from around the island have set up their offices in buildings built by the local government in a bid to bring commercial services to the city and improve the city's profits.

    Mililani-Downtown.jpg

    The current residential areas in the south of the city are run-down and mostly low wealth. These areas are set to be radically re-developed in the same way as the North Estate within the next 10 years. The planned South Estate will boast higher wealth residential areas, top class education and healthcare as well as numerous parks and leisure facilities such as swimming pools and sports.

    Mililani-PoorHousing.jpg

    To the far North of the city is the small town of Whitmore. The town can be reached by road and rail from King's Station in downtown Mililani and is linked in-directly to the Northern Mainline to Sunset Beach. The small town is a place where many people went to avoid living in built-up areas whilst having short commutes to offices and shopping.

    Mililani-WhitmoreTown.jpg

    Taking a look at the city's transport network, which acts as the regional hub, you see just how busy the network is and are confused as to how the busiest city in the West of the island can be so poor. The city's major rail terminal is King's Station. The four platform station transports nearly 25,000 people each year from within the city and surrounding areas to cities around the island. This figure is set to increase vastly with the completion of the Northern Mainline down the East coast, and the completion of the Western Mainline in Golden Sands.

    Mililani-KingsRailways.jpg
    Mililani-KingsStation.jpg

    Rail isn't the only popular transport method, infact air travel is extremely popular in the city. The city's Mililani Regional Airport acts as a hub for air travel to airports across the island. The airport handles mainly regional domestic flights from its Terminal 1. Around 1 million people pass through this terminal each year.

    Mililani-AirportT1.jpg

    With the city's mountainous terrain to the East the construction of the airport was a logistic nightmare for the construction contractors. The entire site had to be levelled which created a large pit and mountainous sides. Terminal 2 is under construction and should be completed within the next 3 years.

    Mililani-AirportT2.jpg

    At 5.30pm you head from your hotel to King's Station to board your train for Sunset Beach. Your train will leave at 6pm heading Northwards to Sunset Beach and will pass through the town of Karneoloa for a brief stop. You should arrive at Sunset Beach at around 9.30pm.

    Stopping off at Karneoloa An hour into your train journey and your Virgin Train stops off at the small town of Karneoloa. The stop is for around 20 minutes to transfer passengers and cargo from the towns South Street Train Station. Karneoloa is a small town which lies between Mililani and Sunset Beach. The town's two small rail stations on the Northern Mainline are often used to ferry passengers from the town into the cities and to re-stock supplies on long journeys.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Karneoloa-BirdseyeView.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The small town has mainly low-rise residential houses dating back to the 1970's and 1950's. Although the residential areas are mainly low-wealth the citizens of this little town are extremely good willed and happy, their lives are relatively stress free unlike those who live in the cities.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Karneoloa-Housing.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The town's school combines Primary and Secondary (Elementary and High) schools into one solution for the low amount of residents of that age. The school also dates back to the 1980's period but has been updated recently. The school has a football (soccer) court, tennis courts and a large playing field for other sports.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Karneoloa-School.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The towns hospital provides good healthcare for the residents and is surrounded by the towns only high-rise buildings. The hospital's management scheme has been applauded for it's extremely low waiting lists and successful treatment rates per 1,000 people.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Karneoloa-hospital.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The towns retail stores not only provide much needed jobs for those who cannot commute but also offer sales to passing tourists through the railway stations.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Karneoloa-Stores.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    After the 30 minute stay for passenger transfers at South Street Station your Virgin Train continues on the remaining 3 hour journey to the resort of Sunset Beach. You should arrive at around 9.30pm and you'll be at your hotel for 10pm for a much earned rest. You'll begin your two day stay in Sunset Beach the next morning.

    Thank You for the Continued Support!

    Simtropolis depends on donations to fund site maintenance costs.
    Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

    But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

    STEX Collections

    By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

    Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

    Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
