They are probably what turned the planet to a desert.

You are likely right.  Do you suppose they fuse the H into He and release the O?  If so, the ice planet needs them.

Who knows, I doubt we will see them again or if thier biology will be explained. A life form that fit the scenerios of 2 episodes, now no longer needed for the story line. Im sure they will need to find a liquid water planet soon. The amount

of ice  on that sled didnt look like that much at all, mabey a couple hunderd gallons.

They still did have a lot of water in the tanks, though. And they won't be losing any of it anymore now that the bugs are gone.. I think they'll be good for a little while now.

Now that I had time to watch the last episode last night [or should I say very early this morning, 2-3am46.gif], I can say the same thought crossed my mind.

Do they realy need to remakeThe Prisoner?

We want information, information, information."
"Who are you?"
"The new number two."
"Who is number one?"
"You are number six."
"I am not a number, I am a free man."
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

I'm on the run, I kill to eat.
I'm starving now, I'm feeling dead on my feet.
Going all the way, I'm nature's beast.
Do what I want, I'll do as I please.

Run! Fight! To breathe! It's tough!
Now you see me (haha!) Now you don't.
Break the walls, I'm coming out.

Not a prisoner I'm a free man,
And my blood is my own now.
Don't care, where the past was,
I know where I'm going...Out!

I can see it now . .

So what is Telford doing back at that house?   Trying to say "Hi honey, I'm home" ?

Wow some big happenings on SGU last couple weeks.

Suicide, witch hunt,Guy gets his brain fried by the chair, Dr Rush is left on some barren planet.

I guess it will be a few weeks before any new episodes get aired.

just now catching up on my DVR viewing after working my way thru the holiday of free Starz and Encore moves i recorded.

I also recorded  The Prisioner and Alice but havent watched them yet.

Dr Rush is left on some barren planet with an alien space ship. I imagine he will find a way into it and get it up and running. and, since he thinks Destiny is his, he will go after it.

Well, it is all very loud and somewhat disappointing.  There seems to be a clear lack of finesse and a generous portion of acting school going on.

Rush is the most interesting anti-hero of the bunch, and the military commander is acting like a typical jerk who has been Shanghaied.  He just isn't with it, is he?  Too much yelling and not enough thinking for someone at the field command level.  He looks more CIA than military.

It is an awful mixed bag.  Maybe in the next season they'll find some way to bring some order out of the chaos.  I wonder who has the genes to sit in the chair?

Well, if this is Sci-Fi tv...as in the congregation of the genre...Doctor Who Christmas/New Years special, anyone? Been long anticipated, considering the last few specials haven't come up to quite the same standard, at least not what I'm used to.

I'm especially enthused due to BBC America being prompt for once, they are apparently airing the special the day after the big day. Last year's Christmas special was thawing out around Easter.

A lot of the writing is about as subtle as a chainsaw. Icarus base? Really? None of the writers thought to themselves "hey, maybe that's laying it on a bit too thick with the foreshadowing"? 3.gif

You mean colonel Young? Not sure I agree there, he was at least vaguely interesting and human. For me the Rush character lost believability once I remembered that this is the guy from 'The Full Monty', 'Trainspotting' and 'The 51st State'. Although I did like his Butch Cassidy quote in theTime Travel episode. Was that just a throwaway storyline though, like they never went to that planet in the main timeline?

I say Camille.   It would throw another twist into the whole "who's in charge?" issue.  If she is the one who has to sit in the chair, she could effectively override what the rest of them say.

Two weeks to the Caprica pilot.  Your favourite Space (Soap?) Opera returns.

Has anyone besides me noticed that a "season" seems to be 10 episodes instead of 13 these days?  Once, I seem to remember that it was 26 episodes.  This is telling either on budgets or patience of sponsors.

More like seeing how well it does, before a lot of episodes are made.

There also no real begining of a TV  "season" any more. They all used to start about when school started in september ( or when the NFL stared the regular season ) every network rolled out new episodes the same week. And after feb sweeps it was reruns till september, which i didnt mind at all i could watch the shows i missed that conflicted

on other networks, I remeber a time when Babylon 5, Highlander the series, and one of the star treks were all on at the same time on differnt networks. ( wensdays at 8PM ) this was before DVRs which soloved that particular problem.

Cant wait for Caprica, it still hasent appeared in  search yet to record the series.

Technically, SGU has 20 (or 21, whatever) episodes in the first season, it's just that SyFy decided to split it into two, which is really going to ruin whatever they had going.

I feel with SGU they're really grasping at straws about what to write without seeming repetitive - which they've sadly failed at; the basic premise is this: Something runs out on the ship. Ship drops out of subspace, spits out one or two possible Stargate addresses, address is dialed, planet visited just happens to contain the stuff they need, they drag it out by having to "search" for whatever's out there... so annoying.

I'm quite turned off by SGU, but I still keep watching it in the hopes it may improve - the 'younger and edgier' cast is not the best way to go really... There were moments of brilliance in the first half of the season, sure, but it was overshadowed by the overwhelming mediocrity of the storyline.

It's definitely a series that needs to find its feet before it really takes off.

I agree with SA.  SG.U is a clone of a clone and has lost something of its DNA in the process.

SG1 had all that nice mythology to call on, and kept it going for eight years on the Egyptian/Norse myths alone.  When they got to the ORI (medieval Catholic Church) they seemed a little overblown.

If a new plot is needed for the SG writers, they could try the Walsunga Saga, but that can't go for more than a season or two at most.  The best part of that is that Richard Wagner has already written the book for them, and the Stargate can certainly be an analogue of the Ring.  Also, it is a long time before the hero finds the heroine since it begins when he hasn't even been born.  The TV audience might have trouble with the strange sexual mores of the characters, but I think they can get away with it today.  The end is pretty good too.  The whole works goes up in flames leaving the poor humans to look after themselves.

Added Note:  The Asgard are built into the Ring Saga, and if they choose to take other pages from the Norse mythology, they have an adversary (Loki), and the Schwartalfar (Niebelungen) as evil foot soldiers.  This could be turned into a people vs. the underworld quite easily.  Think of all the fun with Wotan siring the nine Valkyries on Erda (who is kind of captive, chained to the planet and all).  This one is also for horse lovers.

I have the BluRay release of The Plan from several weeks back, but I haven't viewed it a second time yet.  I do remember liking it, though the payoff didn't pay off so to speak.

I watched The Plan last night, thought it was excelent, Dean Stockton gave a hell of a performance.

Answered some questions about boomer and why she did the things she did.

"We declared war on Love and Lost." put the whole series in a new light.

It was ok, but not great IMO.  I did finish re-watching all 10 episodes of BluRay BSG Season 4.5.  I watched the extended 150-minute, unaired version of the two-part series finale Day Break late last night.  One of the scenes missing from the broadcast version was Chief in the brig for aiding in Boomer's escape.  He'd turned himself in.2.gif  I will say no20.gif more.

I hardly even watch the "Syfy" Channel anymore, ever since they pulled the plug on Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Farscape. It seems like basically everytime I switch to the SciFi Channel (that's right the SciFi Channel!!) it's either Ghost Hunters, Lost, Scare Tactics or wrestling on. Don't get me wrong there are some true science fiction shows on such as Stargate Universe, Caprica, Sanctuary and Eureka.
