Well finnally back to some bat work

 

Anyhow here is what i have been messing wiht for the past couple days

Kinda wish peg was still around i would loved for him to have used this in one of his lots and his leavin reallruined this whole project for me becuase now i cant even make it fit right with his current lots and acctually post it to the stex. Anyhow as far as the mall goes i havent made to much progress and i need to go looking for hillbilly again. Anyhow comments and suggestions please.

Hi, I know this isnt a Request thread, but seeing that you have the commitment to work on such a large structure, I was thinking maybe after that, youd like to try this mall.  It is Carousel Center in Syracuse, NY.  Its quite big, and there are plans to expand it to 3 times its current size to be the largest in the nation.  Maybe you've heard of DestiNY USA.  Though some governmnt folks are causeing problems with it, hopefully it will be constructed.  But, as for now, it would be really awesome to see a building in Sim City that is so close to home.  And if I could make it I would, unfortunately I dont understand GMax.  Anyways, Your quite good at the BAT, so if you or anyone would like to give it a try, id greatly appreciate it.  This is the only airial shot I can find, but I dont live too far away. Id gladly take pics from the ground level for anyone who wants to try it.

I apologize Mr. Joerg for posting this here.  Just your the only person Ive seen making large structures like malls.

I dont think i will be up to making another mall any time soon.  Next up i think will be another skyscraper and perhaps a large american foot ball stadium

 

For now though i want some comments on what i might do with the container crane.  Also if anyone has a container ship or could make one that would be great. I know ive seen a few ships floating around so im sure someone could put a few containers on one of though ships. Some new container props might be good too.

No matter what you do next, it will be excellent. As for the crane, I know there are some ship props on the STEX. I think they are container, but I'm not sure.

Well time to resurect this old thread again. Anyhow check out the results with the container crane.

you should definatly make a lot out of the seaport. On the new hospital, the textures look much better and you should add a sky bridge to the hospital. Also how is the Oneil/ Joerg airport going?

One last pic this time a mall update.

 

I doubt i upload the crane lot im sort of waiting to see if peg wants to use it if not i will upload it i guess.

 

As for the skybridge i dont plan to add one its fairly simple patients stay in the upper floors and get worked on in the lower this means they dont have to go between towers.

 

And as for the airport i cant seem to get in touch with oneil much but i sent him the part i was making awhile back and he sent me some good pictures of it in use and some of the terminal.  So far it looks great.

Thanks im trying to work on the mall but its not easy there is just so much to do yet before i even get to gmax.

 

Also im about to render a yellow version of the sea cranes and i will have pics of them soon.

Ok another new project. Its roughly based on the park building in chicago its not very far along yet but ive gotten a good start.

The mall is continuing to improve. The hospital's new textures are the best so far! It's just jaw dropping. *drops jaw* If you upload it or update it, please let us know.

 

Your next project has a good start. The porches are the neatest part of the building so far.

 

As a final note, both the cranes and the hospital look utterly realistic and will hopefully find a home in my cities.

Ok to ansewer a few questions. First off im going to upload the hospital probably either in the next hour tonight for right after school tommorow. 

 

As for the cranes yes i made them myself. And ive decided i will release them as a seaport development addon to PEGs stuff the lots will all be based on my own creations with nothing of pegs in them but they should fit right in with his lots. Included will be stuff like a better container prop.  If anyone wants to help that knows about prop families i would love your help in making a container prop family so i could get a random look.  Also i will include the rails for the seaport cranes and if you guys have any suggestions i will work my best to include them aswell.

 

As for the new project i have along ways to go on it. MTLT is doing a chicago remake and sent me some pics of this bulding and i figured it wouldnt be that bad but the more i looked at it the more i figured hmm this is going to suck to make. So im going to cut a few corners in someplaces one big thing is currently the building in real life has 2 very different sides this building is going to have both front and back pretty much the same. The building is res and should be about 60 floors when i get done. The real building was built in 99 so its fairly new and a great addition to the chicago skyline.

 

About the mall.  Yes its going to take forever to render but thats just part of the proccess i guess. I would estimate my progress on the mall to be at about 30%. I need to get focused on it again but its not coming easy for some reason.

 

And lastly an update on Oneil's airport he was on today and i got some new info from him. Basically he is as i type this rendering out the many sections of the airport in draft to see how it all works. I hope it goes well.

Wohooo!!! Park Hyatt in the house! So, like, what's the deal with skimpin' on the back side of the building joerg? We all know you're capable of doing it (not to mention, it's a HELL of a lot easier than the front (east) facade.

If you need any pictures that you can't find online just pm me and I'd be happy to go take whatever you need. I've been dying to see this one in the game and having you do it makes me sleep easy

Just for some info I put him up to it. I showed him some pics because I needed it for my Chicago region. He loved the building so much that he decided to do it. I am very thankul of him for doing it. He may even do 311 Wacker Street (lol I love that name) but he says he don't know if he has time or will do it at all. Keep up the good work Joe.

Hrmm... JT and I might be able to do 311 if Joerg doesn't want to. It's another beauty, and the only reason I avoided it for so long was I didn't want to do the texturing

Well the big reason i want to skip on the back side is becuase doing only one side means i can mirror it. Im about 30% done with the modeling i think so far.  Plus half the reason the real building is like that is becuase you dont often even see the back side where as the simcity coutner part you will see both sides just as much. I may decide to make the design more accurate but i doubt it. Ive been to liberal with it thus far to turn back now i think.  But i can assure you it will look very much like the real thing from the front aside from a few changes both to make things easier for me and to get it to fit in simcity alittle better. Also geoff if you are down by the building and dont mind or you can find some pics of the base that would be great i havent seen much thus far.

cool building joerg! chicago has some cool architecture... and 311 is pretty cool, texturing couln't be too hard! hehe

your mall looks great too! if u'd like some more idea's of outlet store facades u should search Woodburn Outlets, they have awesome looking facades for an outdoor mall. i'd post a pic but not sure where u'r at in bating the mall

The drawings are not big enough DT.  Anyhow there is like a big section the juts out at abotu the 4th floor that i need to see a closeup of.  Right now all i know is that it sticks out alittle and appears to be glass.

 

As for all the other buildings and stuff im planning on releasing everything at about the same time now. So like 4 big projects in one day.  Im going to be gone a couple days in about a week and a half and i hope to use that time to have the mall rendering aswell as the Park Building. So expect everything around the 1st of June.
