How bus stops work in SimCity 4 Deluxe?

I have installed NAM - traffic Simulator "Z", Low version.

Regardless, there are different patterns of commute network load during morning and evening commute time. Do I need to consider direction of traffic flow when placing bus stops? I will need an illustration to explain what I mean. Here it is:>3.gif>

busstop.jpg

Green arrow indicates morning traffic flow. Red arrow indicates evening traffic flow. When bus stop is placed where it is on screenshot, do buses going in direction of red arrow stop on this bus stop?>3.gif>

A busstop serves all adjecent tiles, so yes, busses going in the direction of the red arrow do stop at this busstop.

wow DC0 , you really customized yourself by already putting up a pic!

welcome to simtropolis!

I really hope you stay here , and start posting a bit , you can really learn a lot , plus , most questions can be answered quickly , within hours , you had it in minutes!

I just put the bus stops every 6-8 tiles , and let the game take care of the rest.

Hope you like it here.

They don't automaticaly sence a buz stop on one side of an avenue, so buld buz stopps on both sides of an avenue.

Sounds like roads and streets can use just one bus stop, but Avenues need one on each side. But what changes when using any of the Bus Stops that fit on the road, and dont take a tile away from the game to use?

Oh and does anyone have any no-brainer or favorite suggestions for these types of non-square-using bus stops to add to the game that are compatible with the NAM?

I use a road top mass transit mod. They are basically puzzle pieces that you place on top of roads, ave, one way, and streets. It's pretty cool. I can't find it in the stex yet. The LEX and sc4devotion might have it.

Also, to solve the bus stop problem for avenues, just put the bus stop right next to a road/street/one way intersection. That way sims can cross the street and use the bus.

EDIT: The road top transit uses bus stop only, subway only, and bus stop subway. Pretty nifty.

Hi, I'm new to the forums and so far I am amazed at what I have been missing with SC4!

In regards to bus stops, this answer is so helpful, I had always put bus stops on either side of streets and roads - so thanks alot!!

Road top mass transit is very usefull for getting good bus networks (without the annoying bus stop stuck in the corner of every bloack)

What do you mean by Road Top mass Transit? I am so sick of having to break up city blocks with bus stops!

Here it is: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/stexdetails.cfm?id=13510

Cogeo's road top mass transit. It completely revolutionized my cities 3.gif Now I don't have to waste a tile space every other block on a bus stop or subway station. The RTMT is a bit complicated to set up though, so be warned! But after you set it up, you'll be amazed at how you could ever play without it before. Here's some examples from a city I'm currently playing:

Arrowz: Thanks for the nice comments!

One little note, as far as I can see you have two timetable props installed (that's why you are getting a double timetable prop); better delete one. I would suggest that you keep the "alternative" prop installed, this is displayed farther off the busstop shelter. Also check the RTMT upload (link in my sig), it contains some additional timetable props, you may find them better.

And someone should update the textures, for use in those cobbled roads. One short question here, what's that mod? And does it change ALL roads/streets (incl industrial, low wealth etc)?
