Can't create region...

I got the JPG and config1 file of this map: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=15039&v=1

Now whenever I try to create the new region it gives me the following error msg:

"Region bitmap size is incorrect -- 1153x1345, should be 1025x1025"

Any solution?

Btw the jpg file is 1153x1345 while the config file is18x21.

zioburosky13...

Did you notice if the region grid matched the config layout when you opened the new region initially? When I tried the files, the new region was the default Maxis region (not the one in the download config), and that would not match the download greyscale image. So I looked at the config file in the download and noticed its name was 'config1'. I took off the '1' (so its name was 'config'), and the game found it and rendered it just fine. Hope this helps...

The game requires the config.bmp to be named exactly that, not config1.bmp, as CaptCity mentioned. The game will not recognize the config1.bmp, and will use the default region size which is a 16x16 pixel bmp, that requires a grayscale.jpg of 1025x1025 pixels.

I did resize the jpeg file with Windows own image resizer but whenever I choose custom size with 1025 x 1025, the file changes to 879 x 1025 pixels. So does the config file (16x16 and it shows 14x16 pixels)

    zioburosky13...

The map in your link above (if you're still referring to that one) is not square, so it won't chage to 1025X1025 if keeping the sides proportional.

More importantly, you don't need to change the size unless you are wanting to. The above map will reneder just fine if you change the name of the 'config1' file to 'config'. No size changes are necessary. Just download tha map and follow these steps. Of course, if changing the size is what you desire, forget this...
