Make sure when placing a new hospital its ring of effect (the green circle) overlaps with the hospital that is striking. That means some of the patients will move from going to the old hospital to the new one, and hence stop overcrowding of the first.

You can also try lowering the ambulance funding so the hospital covers less area (hence less patients) and deal with it that way.

You can also use the high capacity schools which solves alot of trouble, assuming you have Rush Hour.

I often find i need hospitals every 20 tiles or so in a dense city cos they overcrowd so quickly.

It takes about 2 months (probably less) for workers to stop striking after capacity is increased to exceed demand.

If you still get problems, query each school and hospital and check if capacity is being exceeded. If it is, you need will need more of that kind of service near that location. Use the data map for education/health to plan out a place to put the new building, making sure to cover a good portion of the old radius (or just plop it next to the existing building).

Yeah, use the big schools from Rush Hour, those really help. As for the Hospitals, you will just need more of them. Funny how about 10% of your cities seem to LIVE in the hospitals isnt it?

I would definitely suggest downloading some schools and hospitals from the stex. They have some very high capacity hospitals that aren't eyesores. I have one that I think holds either 6k or 12k, I know that's a big difference but both of those numbers stick out in my head! And I have an elementary school that holds 6k kids. Not bad eh? You can also go and download the ILives LEProp editor. You can manipulate it to hold as many patients as you need. I did that for a water purifire once. Worked out great. You'll need to make an account on the lex at sc4devotion.com if you haven't already.

15 of both Elementary and High Schools?  Thats 30 schools!!  What is your population?  This seems excessive.  Sounds like a bug to me.

It's actually quite simple. Of course, open the program. It'll look like this if you opened the right program.

    asdv.jpg

Click the "Open DAT" button and find the file. It's most likely within you're plugins folder unless you haven't installed it yet. The there should be a bunch of stats listed. Well, on the right click the education button (the hat and diploma) and a window should pop up like this. Don't mind the different stats. I just opened a test building. Yours will probably be different.

AS you can see, you can simply edit the amount of students and radius of affect. I wouldn't tinker with anything else until you know what you're doing, but that is the basic jist of it. Just click okay, apply, then save. I suggest doing modest changes at a time. For this, I would make the student cap at maybe 2500 and see how that works and so on. If you're feeling brave, you can go through the help faq and tinker with more sutff. Good luck and if you need any more help PM me or just post in here again!

NOTE: Make sure you have a backup copy of the plugin. It's not that hard to get it again, but having to find it sometimes sucks. And if it doesn't work remove the plugin immediately and replace it with the orginal.

    Warning!

Do not plop any civil lot that you have changed the funding, capacity, or radius into a city that has the lot with the unchanged values. If you do you will encounter the "Phantom slider bug".
