More beautiful updates. The transit network near the train station is unbelievably great to look at, I really admire your work with such things. Your naming is unique, too. I know it's not really Japanese but your names definitely show some Japanese influence (Hinawa instead of Haniwa, etc). You always create an enjoyable cj!

    UPDATE 10: Pawa District

    (quan city center)

    23079710.jpg

    64247602.jpg

    60446119.jpg

Quan is a small city of about 1 million residents. It is located in the northern section of the country near the Maugana region and is a central hub for people travelling through the countryside. The Pawa District is lined with canals and mountains that split the city into different sections.

In this mosaic, we see a night shot showing off the mountains, the sports arena, and numerous skyscrapers. Many agricultural firms have also set up HQs here due to the city's close proximity to farms.

    wers.jpg

Quan is known for unconventional architecture. It was common for eccentric businessmen to snatch up land in the hills and build strange buildings. Here we see a midnight rainstorm...

    thearena.jpg

The Quan Sports Arena was built in 2002 in what used to be an unattractive parking lot. The locals enjoy the interesting design and nearby plaza.

A small mosaic showing off the stadium, plaza, numerous office buildings, and a glimpse of the canal.

We'll wrap up the update with a look a few miles north of the district, home to the secluded Tuak residential neighborhood. The prime minister's summer residence is located here.

    COMMENTS

SWAT-MEDIC: Hah, I saw something like that in a video and thought would be cool to recreate.

Archean: I made two mountains with a plain in the middle, connected the mountains with a bridge and then put a highway running through it, but since you can't have highways go under bridges, i photoshopped that bottom part. Hope that makes sense 3.gif

Abes: Yeah, the Japanese batters have some great stuff!

Mikeaut1: Nice to see you here Mikey!

jacqulina: lol, yep, thanks Jacky 2.gif

Amthaak: I found it in: http://descargas.capitalsim.net/?sitio=csc ; search for 'Fuji' and you should find it.

    art128: Thanks Arthur!

Pitito21: Ah, I don't remember where I got the dependency to have concrete in the NAM curves, but I'm sure if you search for 'NAM curves' in the stex something will come up, thanks for the nice comment too 2.gif

TmiguelT: Look at my answer to Archean about the highway.

NMUSpidey: I'm so glad someone from Japan likes it, that's where I got most of my inspiration from. Glad you liked the naming and CJ4.gif

mightygoose: The highway under highway is just photoshop 3.gif

    mayorbk: Thank you!

aiumkastarkius: Wow, thanks! Glad you like it!

I resolve my problem, a mistake in the selection of the correct folder to put the files. The open areas of your cities and districts are very nice, I talk about plazas and buildings sides.

    UPDATE 11: University of Hinawa

    (main campus)

    uni2.jpg

The University of Hinawa is one of Seto's most prestigious universities. The central campus is located in the northern section of the city near the Imperial Gardens. The university was founded 175 years ago and remains one of the country's most important educational centers. Along with the gardens, it is one of the lowest profile areas of Hinawa, with building heights barely reaching 10 stories. The central courtyard contains most of the university buildings and the main administration building. The pond from the Imperial Gardens flows through the campus, giving the students a nice area to jog or walk to class. The cherry blossoms change colors through the seasons, and many of them are still in spring bloom.

A overview of the area that introduces the main courtyard area with the administration building, sports field, pond, and university buildings.

    overviewl.jpg

A night time overview of the area; Mizamotto Avenue cuts through the university, allowing students to get to other parts of the city quickly.

Wow...that's really well put together!  I wouldnt've thought to use jbsimio's schools as college buildings, but they work very well here.  I love how open and spread out the entire campus is; reminds me of my college.  Also, that raised plaza in front (or behind) what I think is the Admin. Building is really eye-catching...and of course, the cherry blossoms add mounds of character to the entire thing.  That so many different elements (American schools, cherry blossoms, brick and cobblestone roads) can come together to make a cohesive and fluid product just adds to its appeal.  Very well done 44.gif!

One question, though...the aforementioned possible Admin. Building...what building is that?  It's very interesting...

Yeah I think the schools work well to comprise your campus. It's also very colorful. I like the cherry trees.

After thinking a little more about it, I decided it would be good to keep new updates in the new CJ section. Because it only lists an update per page, they are less picture heavy and load much faster. I hope you guys will continue to follow the updates there4.gif

Evillions: There's some British and American architecture in Asian cities and I thought these buildings would go along with the main administration building 4.gif

Yoman3: Glad you liked the grass textures and university Owen!

masochist: My favorite replier has arrived! 9.gif I was using a few of jbsimio's buildings, then found about the other school packs and thought they would go nicely with the others university buildings, I tried to replicate most campuses with large fields and buildings around them. The Admin. Building is this one that I found on the HAS website. 4.gif Enjoy!

    Muck308: Thank you!

Schulmanator: Thanks Bruce, always great to see you stop by!

A wonderful CJ, and to give a name to the wonderful BAT used as the campus Administration Building, it is the Tokyo University Yasuda Lecture Hall by Ragutaro. I'm always glad to see an Japan-inspired CJ use not just the typical supermodern skyscraper forests, but also the old Meiji, Taisho, and Showa era red brick themes, much of which did not survive either the war or post-war reconstruction.
