So does the Aspry game work on new iMacs

I have a new iMac: OS X 10.5.6 [\b] 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM ATI Radeon HD 2400 128 MB I have been reading all of the (confusing) reviews, posts, replies about the performance (or lack there of) of Aspry's version of Deluxe. Am I out of luck and it doesn't work on my machine? Should I buy it? I have the PC version (I just switched to a Mac and am still learning), and love it, and want to play it. So I guess I could (not likely) try the options of running the PC version on the mac. Should I get the Aspry game?

I just installed VM Ware Fusion on my MacBook, and I am running the Windows version of SC Deluxe. It works so much better that way than with Aspyr's: the Mac version keeps mixing graphics all up. You end up paying a little more up front, but you will be able to use whatever windows software you want. I like the drag and drop from the Mac desktop to the windows one. Easy.

Since you already have a copy of the Windows version, I'd suggest using one of the solutions for running it on your new Mac. If you already have a copy of Windows XP or Vista, use Bootcamp, or Fusion if you have some money to spare for it. If you don't have a copy of Windows, Crossover Games will run SC4 on a Mac, and costs less than the Aspyr port of Deluxe.

I can get my hands on a very affordable (almost no cost) version of VISTA from my college, so getting windows is no problem. I have really no idea about what/how to get myself set up after that.

Can someone direct me to a good tutorial? What programs are there for running windows on a mac, which are good for the price?

    Thanks for the scoop.

Bootcamp would probably be the best choice for you, since it's the only free option (minus the cost of Windows, but you said that's not a problem for you). There's a Bootcamp installation guide available for download here (there's probably a copy of it on your computer somewhere, but I wouldn't know where to find it).

Thanks I think I will give bootcamp a try and I will let you all know how it goes. It probably won't be for awhile.
