Do you have the start pieces pointing in the proper direction? As for the EURO-textures don't extend to all pieces, do you simply look at the preview image or have you actually plopped it, as Maarten (mrtln, creator of the euro textures) said that he didn't alter the preview pics, as you don't see them a lot.

Edit: Stupid Page Flip Bug...

gottago: Welcome to Simtropolis! Let me see what I can do about answering your question.

Its quite possible they are going in the same direction. I'd plop a starter piece somewhere around the problem area to ensure everything is in the right direction.

-I haven't used the Euro Textures, so I can't help you with that. Just make sure the shoulder is on the right for right hand drive.

Perhaps a pic can help us point out the problem. It might also be a good idea to post in the RHW thread, where many experts frequent and may be able to help you further.

Anyways I'm glad you like the guides posted here!

Edit:  Page flip bug.  It seems there's more stuff over here.  3.gif

Patricius, the actual rule is three miles between interchanges in rural areas, and one mile between interchanges in urban areas, though there are exceptions to the rule.

Hal, I am confused with a few concepts as well:

    1. How to go about making interchanges between two seperate RHWs, like the types of interchanges that when using normal highways would be covered by a cloverleaf or stacked interchange.

    2. How to make an expressway using express/local lanes using RHW-8 (sixteen lanes in total)

    3. How to make exit ramps onto diagonal portions of an expressway of a higher capacity, such as a RHW-10 or RHW-8. An example is Chicago's Kennedy Expressway, a portion of I-90/I-94, which runs northwest from downtown Chicago to O'Hare International Airport.

    4. How to make 90-degree turns in RHW-8, or to run from north-south to diagonal to east-west.

    Thanks.

Hello whitesox130, let me see what I can do to help you out.

    1. I haven't yet made any RHW/RHW interchange guides, but they are on the agenda. Refer to the first post for some examples for inspiration of what to create. Cloverleafs are generally frowned upon due to the weaving they cause, and full stacks are not yet possible with the current version. A nice workaround is a setup like a cloverstack or turbine.

    2. You'll have to make a Multi-RHW setup for that. See HERE and HERE for guides. It might also be a good idea to check out the GTR (My CJ) for examples. There are links to it in my signature.

    3. That is not yet possible with the current version. I guess you could split up a RHW-8 into a multi-RHW for a diagonal route, and plop diagonal on/off ramps on the outermost RHW-4s.

    4. Again, that is not yet possible with the current version. I'm assuming the next release will fix this. 45 degree turns are possible, but with puzzle pieces, you cannot drag it.

All and all, you just need to be creative. These guides are just examples of what you can do with the RHW. Nothing shown here is concrete, it can be flexed and molded into anything you want. Just give yourself some time for trial and error. Practice makes perfect!

loney-try either extending the straight MIS before the transition or just click the problem spot with the dragable RHW tool

    It should clear up then

    Check Out My CJ!

Oh, I see what you are doing. You have a avenue intersection then transitioned it to a one-way road then tried to transition it to a MIS ramp.

Simple solution: cut out the middleman! Connect the MIS ramp directly to the avenue. There's no need to use a one-way road to connect the two.

When your finished and it still doesn't look right, try redrawing the network or clicking on the problem spot like bluemoose suggested.

Hope this solution works for you! Its great to see someone is using the guide!

As for your other question, that is not yet possible.  Perhaps future releases after RHW 3.0 will enable you to do this.

The biggest thing that confuses me is how to make a RHW cross another RHW, or even how to make the El-MIS cross the RHW or another MIS.

Loney:  Umm... didn't I just make a guide about making that on the last page?  Might be a good place to check.  3.gif

whitesox130:  Indeed it is confusing.  There are so many ways to build it and so many complications its difficult to make such a junction.  I have plans to eventually make 3 and 4-way RHW/RHW interchanges sometime in this guide, but there's nothing here for now.  The best thing to do is to look at others for inspiration such as in the "show us your interchanges" thread or in city journals.

A while back I actually made a video of driving on a 4-way RHW/RHW during the development days of RHW 3.0.  Let me see if I can call it up:

    " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="never" quality="high" loop="true" play="true">

If you're having problems with the video embed here's the link:

There are other pictures of that interchange in my city journal if you need a closer view.  Here's the link to that update:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/cityjournals/?p=view&id=280&page=97

Anyways I hope that helps you out!

There's an addon for double-hight Road Bridges and with that, Im intended to build an overpass I live about 15 miles from.

Ta-Ta for now, when I know how to upload pictures on reply notes.
