The Reigon of Avery, a fairly new cj by tbone04044, is only about a couple of weeks old but is coming along nicely.  The creator has patterned his cj after the Digby cj and the creator of the cj, lewellan222, is his inspiration.  This reigon hasn't many replies and has yet to gain 500 views, but it has done considerably well for a near 3-week-old cj.

Don't expect to see superscrapers all over the CBD or Reigons that span for miles with urban sprawl, because you won't find it here. Although Avery is seen by many as an "eye candy cj", tbone04044 has done an excellent job of maintaining impressive realism in the Avery area updates that he's shown. His journal has a long way to go, (his regional population is only 220,000 at the moment) but readers will definately enjoy watching this cj grow. tbone 04044 has done a great job so far and gets kudos from me anytime.4.gif

    Liaane-a historic country

    liaane5ll6.jpg

Contained within the pages of fledder200's CJ, Liaane-A historic county, is a beautiful Amsterdam inspired European city. Complete with canals, Dutch rowhomes, and sprawling government buildings, Liaane, though resembling a lot of Simtropolis's European CJ's is unique enough to stand out among the site's cliche historical journals.

    lianne6qy8.jpg

Though the city-building is top notch in the CJ, there is a shocking amount of pictures per page. Scrolling down takes forever, as there seems to be a never ending barrage of pictures. A suggestion would be to cut down the amount of images posted to about 10 per update, as this discourages readers to look at the finer details of the pictures--instead making it a race to get to the next page. Less pictures would allow readers to appreciate the pictures.

    liaane3of9.jpg

That seems to be the only major problem with Liaane, as the rest of the city is a colorful European Simcity. Spacious plazas, cathedrals, and rowhomes grace the images, and Simgoober's canals compliment the setting nicely. GLR also winds throughout the city, providing an efficient transportation system to service Liaane. Variety works well in this CJ, too. Though Liaane incorporates repetative Dutch townhomes, fledder200 makes a great effort to add different residential structures in between to add variety.

    liaane4zu5.jpg

Maxis buildings are rarely to be seen in fledder200's creations as they have been replaced by European alternatives from the STEX. Many hard to find structures can be found in Lianne, and the amount of custom content used has been met with requests to where they can be found, which fledder200 responds with a table to all the BATs' locations.

    liaane2fx4.jpg

If you're looking for a stunning European/Dutch city to inspire your city-building, Lianne is the place to visit--Where buildings are built in perfect harmony, an efficient transportation system services the masses, and the mayor cares about his visitors, showing them where to download those hard to find landmarks from his city. Highly recommended.

    Eye-candy Istrinian shots

    by fredval

    istria40cs9.jpg

I have seen a number of fantastic high quality european city journals, but none like fredval's Eye-candy Istrinian shots. His journal brings city journaling into a new level and turns it into an artform. His old-style european villages blend beautifully with the landscape he has created around each one. As you look through the pages, You can see long hours were spent perfecting the images, each picture is full of life, excitement, and details that make your jaw drop to the floor; sometimes it's hard to beleive these pictures were taken from Simcity!

    istria86zy5.jpg

Istrinia has a great blend of old history, modern life and nature, where modern roads, rails, and traffic meet old world cafes, cathedrals, and plazas that complement the hilly terrains, waterfalls, and beaches. The cities looks unplanned with not a grid or maxis building in sight! The colors complement each other beautifully and just makes you want to see more! Fredval certainly knows how to impress when it comes to creating journals, and this one proves it with stunning pictures and text! You can see many mods, props, photoshopping and custom content were used here to enhance the look of the villages and farms.

    istria88uz9.jpg

This City Journal is only 3 months old, but there is plenty to look at. Fredval creates beautiful bats and edits many of Micklebear's, giving each picture a custom look that is very desirable in Journals. With updates every few days, It's always a treat to pop in and check the delicious eye candy that fredval has cooked up for us.

    istria68vq6.jpg

In Conclusion, Eye-candy Istrinian shots is certainly one of the best City Journals out there in Simtropolis to date. With beautiful festivals giving a refreshing contrast to quiet, laid back villages and the unspoiled natural beauty of the landscapes certainly makes you want to come back for more! It's hard to find anything wrong in this CJ, Check it out today! 4.gif

    ATHENEE - Paletexan

The legendary Paletexan came back with another masterpiece of SC: Athenee. The city evolves from an early 20th Century town into a glowing agglomeration.
As the previous creations from Paletexan, the city features a very realistic development, previously planned in a paper stamp.

In chronological order, he mentions various times or ages while the city is under development, and features a ultra-realistic chart of the street patterns during the timeline. The adaptation answers to the real street system in the USA, Grid, Lollipops, Loops, Parallel Lanes: Rise and Fall of the Automobile Culture.

The credited BATs, the pictures well organized, and its own website are manifestations of his interest and compromise with showing his work.

    About the website:
Is well organized, as stated before, in the Simtropolis Official City Journal, ordered in chronological order, with subdivisions of pictures between 10 years; a decade. The region is a valley surpassed by two rivers. The pictures of the entire region are generally to show how the transportation patterns have evolved into a more efficient network.

The pictures have been previously edited with very good developed skills of Photoshop. The high quality of pictures let the people appreciate his work.

We hope another CJ from this legend launched and more cities added to Favorites files.

TIERRA DE LA OSCURIDAD - By BlondeTwiggy

Tierra de la Oscuridad (literally in Spanish: Darkness Land) features a flat region, with cities sprawled over it. The landscape is beautiful, the Olympic Terrain is a great add-on to this charming green cities. The trees, the nature, the plants priority, are what BlondeTwiggy wants to show us.
She has a system if different cities across the entire region, and everyone is featured in one/two and probably three updates. So if you do the math, you’ll realize there are many agglomerations.

The introduction was magistral, the pictures showed a high quality work on them, the beautiful BATs she uses, and the great red-roofs combined with the trees in the Poumpons and Aurora landscape.

The page two shows the expansion of Aurora. The transportation layout is tending to be diagonal and un-griddish, a very interactive network. The satellite cities are also a great feature here. Askia and Monetti are beautiful red-roofed towns, where the Sims seem to be having a great time living there.

The banners are scenic and the presentation is magistral.  Twiggy also interacts with the visitors creating a very nice place to talk about the cities, with fun and laughing.
We hope to see this CJ for long time more Twiggs!

guys im really sorry but the complicated life of a teenager has struck me and im too busy with my three projects. since BATing is the most fun, ive decided to do that(btw i will usually go as newenglandgangsta511) this means i won't review, i will still be chairman of the board, i guess you could say, and update the TOC and the thread summary, accept and fire critics, but unfortuanitly i wont write reviews, as i wont be doing my CJ anymore. Needless to say thanks for the support and I AM NOT LEAVING THE CRITICS TEAM, i am just stepping down from the critic posistion to the leader.

BTW: Slanns been waiting for a review from me, so has leech, so if someone could pick those up, i would feel a bit better about stepping down.

    Thankyou there Narya:

No, the critics have to receive the suggestion by the author before a review can be posted.

Also, if you contact a critic who uses images in his/her reviews, you must accept the images to be posted on there.
