I also despise palm trees. Especially since they don't belong at all in the where my region is located.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get rid of the high wealth concrete texture, as well as those palm trees?

Hi, TV-VCR,

For the palm trees, this or this will turn them into something else, works well, I have used it.  This is a white sidewalk mod, I haven't used it, but comments seem OK.

Have fun.

Thank you. Although, I don't want that one mod, as it changes all to the white concrete. I want to keep the low-wealth sidewalk too.

    Thanks for your help though.

Sorry for the digression, but I have to know: Where did you get that parking garage?

Oh, sorry, I forgot about this; it has the option to have nothing replace the palms, as might be better on your sidewalk there.  About just having the two sidewalks, I haven't seen a mod, but you might be able to take out the high wealth texture somehow, perhaps in the SC4 Tool.  Swamper is pretty active on SC4D, he might know how, and dedgren has modded it so that there are no sidewalks.

It's part of a mall by LBT. I think it's on the LEX.

If you are registered at SC4Devotion.com, I highly recommend this mod:

    https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=36

It contains a different texture for each wealth level, and one for agricultural areas, too.  If you don't like the red brick shown in the picture at the link, you can remove that .dat and just have the others.

Alternatively, you can have all your sidewalks citywide look like the sandstone pedmall, with dirt roadsides in the farmland by installing this mod:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17323

Or, for a European asphalt look, try this:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17351

EDIT: Links didn't work first time around; added a 'New Window' target.

You should use only one of these mods at a time.

I hope this helps.  And, being my first post, I hope I got the links to work properly for you!

Eurgh. No matter what I do it replaces the white concrete texture with... one that's not so great. 14.gif

Sorry, I just need the default medium wealth white concrete sidewalk.

    Any other suggestions, anyone?

Maybe how to (good lord) do it myself?

There is a tutorial me and DTP made that teaches you how to make custom textures. Although, it is going through some delays...

I don't need to learn how to make custom textures. I just want to figure out how to replace the pink concrete with the white concrete.

If you are the do-it-yourself type and can use SC4Tool and the Reader, I can explain how to do this.  You don't need to "create" a texture, as SC4Tool can change any image file into a texture for use in the game.  That way, you could change the sidewalk to whatever texture you want -- even a psychedelic fractal, if you have the desire, but that might make your Sims a little dizzy when they try to walk to the bus stop.  It would, however, take me longer to write the tutorial than it took to make the .dat that changes the sidewalks.  So, I could just email you the mod or post it here as an attachment and it would save us both some time.  I have tested the mod, and it works.  I have read in another topic that this may change some of the base textures of various Maxis buildings due to the wealth-dependent nature of the texture groups, but I didn't notice any anomalies in my testbed city.

Do you want to keep the low-wealth textures, or replace those with the white medium-wealth ones, too?  This would create total city-wide uniformity of your sidewalks.  The choice is yours.  You should see a zip file attached to this post that contains a small pic of the mod in action -- white sidewalks in front of low- and high-wealth residential buildings that are right next to each other. showing white medium-wealth sidewalks in front of high-wealth condos while a low-wealth apartment retains its default texture; a short readme file in .txt format; and the .dat itself, titled "no pink sidewalks."

EDIT:  Sorry, I just re-read your earlier post explaining that you do wish to keep the low-wealth sidewalks.  This should not be a problem.  I'll go test it now and make sure.

2nd EDIT:  Yes, it works.  I have attached a zip with the mod (see above for details) rather than go thru the whole tutorial business.  Let me know if it works for you.

I can't thank you enough. It works perfectly. 44.gif
