    Axis City.............The End Part 9
Part *A* ........Generalities of Axis City and its part of the region

We are back, sorry for the delai , but summertime is a busy time for me (pleasure and work) and real life is really biting out a big piece from me this year, but I will be more and more present from now on with fall on its way.

First have a look at this complete regional picture to get the idea where the major cities on Genesis are and also for those ol'time members of this CJ to remember and get back into the region:

    1GenesisIVcomplete.jpg

.....and if you want to have a look at a complete, extremely detailed and much bigger regionpicture, but a little older (50 years ago,Genesis time), go have a look here:

    http://img261.echo.cx/img261/7050/nexisofgenesis5vq.jpg

You surely see the Grand Dam (upper left) and Grand Dam City, and just below is Round Lake Junction that we have seen in an earlier update with the river becoming a lake of somekind. Flowing east from there is the Tenzel River and everything north of it, is Axis City, which has been expanding in all directions if you look carefully, taking parts in 6 different counties (townships as I call them).
Third biggest City on Genesis population-wise (after the Capitol of New Saphir and Nexis City), but second in surface area (right after Nexis City). Axis City has a pop of 2.974,626 and is still growing like mad.
Founded as the third municipality on Genesis, Axis is also one of the oldest.

    The region of Axis City.

    2GenesisIV-Axis2.jpg

Many stories about Axis City have been told, legends have been whispered and much history has been recorded and there's also much to see nowadays. That is why we will take something like 5 or even 6 updates to talk about this whole area. Fifty years gone by on Genesis left me with a lot to say and show.
Many celebrities have past through and lived here, such as Oriole, the Gaburan Ambassador, Adley Hawklyn, the first to supply food grown on Genesis to the people, Mr Tim, the specialist of Spaceship drives and assemblies of the Nexis Space commission who later died in the terrible crush of the Spacestation 1 on Verto, Mr Vatt, a genious scientist and Chemist, who also was aboard that station that crushed on Verto, and Mr Clay Wallace, the first to have traveled on foot through the Ganoga Valley and who opened his first Sporting goods store right here in Axis City, known today across the solar system as* Wallace Sports Extreme*. Those were some of the Genesians that have built and given character to this City with the generations and years. Let's not forget Miss Elizabeth White from Black Lake, who  worked 9 long years here to beautify the city with parks, canals and to hide the  highway from the citizen's view.
You see, Axis has come a long way and to remember the beginning of it, here is a picture before it was even moved upland.

    3GenesisRetro.jpg

Gloryville was the first municipality to be officially founded on Genesis, just beside the landing strip and the science center. Then came Tenzel Outlet at the river mouth of the tenzel river, and when some folks moved upriver, they founded Axis about the midway between the Round Lake and the river mouth, exactly where today South Axis is. Years later some of the citizens moved more inland afraid of the rising river in springtime and that is exactly where today the mighty Downtown of Axis glows. First it was an idea , then it became a obsession and soon it was blooming like a town, but because too much was spent financially from the beginning on, it slowed down and drifted dangerously close by the bankruptcy. But luckily it was saved by the Nexis family members and the Capitol city, who started to invest money and hope into the town. Axis City was born and separated itself from Axis South to become a strong independant city on itself.

Today the city is overwhelming to look at and together with Axis South and Gloryville it seems like one big Mega-City from the satelite view. Maybe one day they will merge....... Almost half of the entire Genesis population lives right here in these parts of the region of almost 15 Million citizens.

    4GenesisIV-AxisCity.jpg

The traffic view of the same region will show you what has been achieved with years of planning and labor of manpower to get the citizens moving around. Highway 1, the first on Genesis and built mostly with help from the Gaburans, runs from north to south across the Genesis region. It is the busiest Highway of them all.

    5GenesisIV-TYraffic.jpg

In the next part of the update of Axis City, we will visit the surrounding townships that have become part of the City itself with the years. We will see Axis Harbour (only a short glimpse because we already have seen its update lately), Round Lake, Tenzel and Axis South. Some nice pictures of today and also retro will be seen. West Axis will follow shortly after.

    Preview.

    6GenesisPreview1.jpg

I will be back sometime next week with the second part of Axis, meanwhile have a nive weekend.

I need some help here, having giant problems with the uploads.

Pictures are 600x800, therefore legal on this site,, when I am in edit, the pictures show full size, but here it seems like some of the right side has been cutoff, anyone knows what's going on?

I might add that I accidently hit the format box, but didn't seem to have changed anything there, unless by accident. I have no iodea what the format is for anyways. Could the problem be there?

    Thanks and sorry for this.

Problem of the pages seem to be fixed now (Thanks Dirk). Kinda scared me....lol.

Thanks for the comments to all. Glad you dropped by.

I would like to add that in my region of Genesis I am starting to get some smaller problems here and there. I don't know if it's because of the age of the region (3 years = o;d age.....lol) or because it is slowly filling up with populations, but in some of the cities, the funds of education and healthcare just drop by themselves and I have to manually higher them every 3 months or do. I don't know if that happened to someone else before or if it had been heard of , but it is a bit annoying.

Anyways, it is still playable though and most of the cities are ok.

If I cannot make the next update tonight nor tommorrow morning, I will surely di it on Monday morning (my day off.....so says my boss....lol *myself that is*).
