I just bought SC4 about 2 weeks ago, found this website about a week ago and found this thread yesterday. It has basically taken me 2 days to read the whole thing (with a 2 year old interupting me as much as they do). I must say, I loved every bit of it! I have been hooked like it was a dean koontz novel or something (I havent actually read his books, but I understand they are real page turners). Please keep them coming.

I have a few questions.
1. You have at least mentioned Opall from time to time so as to ensure it isn't forgotten. However, you have not mentioned the missing space shuttles and the mystery about what happened to them. Have they been forgotten?
2. When the LB-whachamacallit first malfunctioned, how did they know? More specifically, was it during a transmition that it was discovered or during some kind of diagnistic check? If it was during a transmition, were people invloved? Were they killed? Beamed out into space? Shouldn't some respect be paid to those missing 150 Urulians? You get the idea.
3. How do you do some of these things within the confines of the game? For example, you had 2 military bases and several space stations back on Uru. Space stations require an advanced reseach center and a ton of high-tech jobs, but there was hardly anything else in that city. Was it all just for show stuff edited with a bat?

Thanks for posting this adventure and again please keep them coming, but for now I want to get back to playing SC4 (with new enthusiasm)

Answering your questions: 1.The space shuttle G-Spacer II and the army shuttle that was send after GS II have been more or less forgotten, but still a few scientist work on it here and there. Even with help from the Gaburans, they did not find a trace, but hope might come back , when Evermind finishes the new Space-Station in Genesis' orbit. With that telescope, one would be able to see the eye color of a fly on the moon, that is if there are any flies.
2.Before sending something, anything that is, through the LBST (Light Beam Space Traveler), a two point contact has to be made before the Beam starts glowing, and that is what did not happen, since the beam never reached the second point on Genesis and contact was never made. So, no lives were taken I think. If something happened, it would 've been kept quiet for a reason not to panic the population. Joao Otavio is working on that, and he found something, but won't tell until he is proven 100% sure about this.
3.I have played this region before and I brought it up to a population of 2.3 Million. But then I had the idea of this CJ (City Journal) and I started all over again , and this time with new BATs and lots of Cheats, to make it more interesting for the readers (and also for me)....lol. So, if you type ctrl+x a window comes up, then type in you don't deserve it*  and enter,now you have all the rewards available, no matter how small your village or town.

A short update for tonight, because I won't be back for a few days.

 

New Sholes is growing slowly, not fast enough for the Mayor and the Tiel Oil Ltd Company. Much more oil producing than needed is becoming a small problem. Although a lot of Immigrants have moved in, the demand is for much more. Mister Tiel himself, the owner of Tiel Oil ltd, said to the media that at this rate, the Company will close its doors in 5 years. Enough oil would have been pumped then to last five years.
This town has two other things why not so many immigrants want to come here, first the fog all day long and all year round, plus it is far from everything. * We need a Highway here*, the towns Council demanded, but it was refused by the Regional Administration, because of not enough inhabitants.* Ask Tiel ltd to build one*, was the reply from the Rulers with a smile.* they are rich enough to build two highways there*.

 

Alexander MacVivar has struck Gold.......Iron ore that is. As soon as they started digging and only scratching the surface, they found an iron concentration below the mountain, that one would only dream of.

MacVicar seems to be rich, but this is not the case yet. He has enourmous debts and has to extract  before he can say that he is rich, and many things can go wrong during this period.Let's hope the best.

 

moonei: to get things straight, the story is written and nothing will change it. If they are doomed, then they are, if not, the better. They do not have anything to stop the Meteor Opall, which is many times the size of the planet, and they will not! So, you kinda have to live with that and see what is gonna happen.

Thanks for your ideas, but like I said, the story is written and will not change, no matter what .And don't forget, this is not Command and Conquer, nor Simcity. This is Nexis of Genesis.

Your Right mrbisonm, this is your story, and if Nexis of Genesis is not part of our universe then, what we think about technolegy (and ways to stop metors) does not apply to Nexis, then I will wait and see what you have in store for us for the future of the Nexis of Genesis story.

Not really an update, but more of a look at some of our friends.

 

As we have mentioned before , but now show the pictures.

In Axis ,Henry Zeddicton finished building his store and it will open tomorrow.

 

Since his store has cost less than he thought, with the rest of the money, he bought himself a new car. Now he is ready to do all that mileage to Axis everyday.

When we talked about Jim earlier, I said that he bought some land behind his home for a future zone to build or just to invest, well.....here it is. It is in Tenzel Outlet on the First Island. His home is not something special, but he rather wanted to invest his money in land than his home at first.

When Ninten visited Jim and saw his home that didn't cost too much, he wanted one also, the same one, right here in Tenzel Outlet's downtown. There is also a rumour that says that he will be hired to plan a small new town west of  Axis South. I guess that this will give hime a chance to become known, to get futur jobs. I don't know by who though.

Kevin Slayer in Bolton has no more financial problems I guess, since we see him getting his home renovated lately. This job he's got with Troy Nexis's Company must pay pretty good. Now, he started complaining a bit about the noise he gets from the nearby highway.

A couple of more pics of our friend's homes and shops, and further below a small update.

 

Right on the border, where the Commercials meets the Residentials,Wren Trey built his store. Called Wren's Electronics ,instead of Nexis Electronics as meant before. Trey wanted to be an independant Retailer from the Nexis Corporation, although financed by Nexis, as Troy is a friend of his. Situated in Axis, just on the border of the Commercial quarter, it wasn't long before the fist customers came.

 

While Wren was in Nexis City , the other day, exploring the brand new town for two days, he actually fell in love with that area. His home near the canal in Axis City is now up for sale and at a profitable price too.( Anyone interested?) If he sells it at that price, he will buy himself a better home in Nexis City right after.

As we already have mentioned it before, Swamper bought the neighbor's lot for his futur expansion, that he is planning for the upcoming year. Now already having 5 employees to satisfy the demand for signs, he might hire another 3 soon and has to enlarge his shop. *The commercial demand for signs is growing rapidly,mostly in Gloryville and Axis City*, he says, *and the Public administration also want their signs for traffic etc*.

Freddy Bison,finally decided to stop bumming around and doing nothing with his retirement, has built himself 4 Appartment Blocks in Gloryville. Being of some high class and *chic* all around, these Apparts are located just on the borderline of the Natural Park, built on the most expensive and beautiful terrains in Gloryville, just below the cliffs. He might be building some more in different townships if the demand is high enough for these. Again Jim has made a small fortune with this contract.

An overlook of Gloryville of today, now just touching the 36,000 population mark. When asked to Newcomers why they came to Gloryville, they say: *It's the Capitol, buissness is good and we have everything we need, besides it has a beautiful harbour and Park*.

A new Municipality popped up, west of Axis South and south of West Axis, just about the three river junction, of the Tenzel River System, the Path River, coming from the northern region and the discharge of the Grand Dam, the Ice River. This is the farthest that Nexians have come towards the West sofar in the northern part of the Genesis region, and also it is promissing, since it is very well situated between two important townships, Nexis and Axis.

Ninten was hired for the planning of the new town to emerge here soon. It will be done at a smaller scale that Axis and Nexis, because the financial support is not quite the same.
If you want to come visit, or do some good Walleye fishing, Homer's Motel is available year round already.

I have been on vacation for a while so i have not been able to read this great story in a while but it hasn't slowed down a bit. It is just as good as when i first began reading it. Rilian has really come along since he first arrived in Nexis. Many of the other immigants have also blossomed in their new environments and have added a whole new twist to Nexis of Genesis. Keep up the good work mrbisonm!

I'm just amazed that round lake looks beautiful especially with the blends of the tenzel River and the path river. Gloryville is looking good even with a small downtown.

Had some sparetime tonight. Update for Thursday.

Construction, that is all we see in Axis South today, eversince Rico Az has become the Mayor. Surprizingly , Axis south has even surpassed Gloryville in population by almost 1000, now at52,112.(Gloryville:51,304).

Everyone says that Living in Axis South is a charm now, and it is practical to live here, since it is between Axis City and Gloryville. Rico is proud of his governing Axis South and announces on TV to comne live there. We will see if his publicity will work.

 

But Axis South has a dark side also,well hidden , but true and serious.Coriyon , the former Mayor got his money income from importing garbage from many towns.Contracts are signed for a 5 year term. The are designed for holding it is getting smaller every year. It will up to the Mayor now to do something and do it soon enough. Mr Night, our lawyer will have a look into this  and see if the deals couldn't be changed in someways. *Five year term is too much*, he said, *the city will be ruined by then*.

Joao Otavio came back from Uru with some news, none good, but none too bad neither. Here is what he found out: *The LBST system is out of order and will be for a long time too*, he said on the Medias interview, * there is nothing that we do for the moment*.
As an explanation: the Lazor beams are traveling on idontons( small space molecules floating in space, which were drawn in a straight line between Uru and Genesis with some magnetic field of the LBST,so that the light can travel faster and directly, but now the lines are completely off and pointing to another planet. That means that the light cannot follow its path anymore. The reason for this is the approaching Opall Meteor, which has a mass so important that it is effecting the idonton molecules in space .Otavio said, that another system should be made and invented, that doesn't depend on the idontons to travel. *It is a shame that Daight Nexis is not with us anymore, he would have found an alternative way to make it function* Joao said.
The Rulers have given a grant to do the research and Joao was chosen to be the Director of this project.
If Opall with its gigantic size and mass is already causing problems with the space molecules, what will happen next when it approaches the planets? Impact should be in about a century with Uru,but what will happen after? Will Genesis survive or will Solaris be affected also?
Questions, questions,questions.........
Troy Nexis mentioned that the Space station that Evermind and Tim are building, will help to understand a lot of things. Tim said in an interview: *Many questions will be answered. You should see, what we are building here,all this stuff has never been seen before and already the scientists are learning how to understand the new technology of Nexis Electronics.
Evermind, enjoying the trips into space more and more, mentioned that she will be going up there for the fourth time next week,and the station is starting to look as something.........out of this world.

 

In Gloryville, something horrible almost happened. A fire broke out on Seventh Street, probably an electrical failure in an Office building and a little boy was forgotten in that building, when everyone was evacuated. Miss Kitty Cat was in the area, but on the back side of this structure, while everyone else was up front. She saw the boy behind the window, took a rock and broke the neighboring window to help the little boy to come out, which was already suffering from smoke inhalation.
 It didn't take long for the firemen to control the situation, but if it wasn't for Kitty, there would have been a tragedy.
Later that day , she was offered a Honoring medal by the Rulers for her braveness.Of course, she was in the news that day.

The first update of the weekend.

 

Axis South, we have been talking about it lately quite often, is still, since the election of Mayor Rico Az, the first in demand of immigration of all towns on Genesis, of course followed very closely by Gloryville. Most of the Nexians have never seen big  Downtowns in their lives, because they were born right here on Genesis. So the downtown of Axis South, even if it is still very tiny compared to the ones on Uru, is visited very much by all the Nexians around. Here you can see the active daytime of the town.

 

....and the nightlife in Axis South.

MrVegetable, which has made it through Axis City and Axis Harbour ,and which has his own buissness now ( MrVegetable & Company Architects and Town Planners) in Gloryville, was asked to have a look at Axis South to maybe re-plan the town, before it will get into serious space problems. MrVegetable and his Associates will surely take a good look and study the situation and correct it if necessary.

 

Meanwhile, in Bolton, the little town between Axis South and Gloryville, a Security organisation was formed by  Sherlock Holmes IV. An appropiate building will be constructed near the Highway and services will be given to all the municipalities, ever since the murder instance in Black Lake. Brett was aksed to make the plans for this building, but being so darn busy these days, especially with the Laboratory he is designing in Nexis City, he asked for some help from the retired architect, Freddy Bison, who only does some fishing and bumming anyways. Freddy is glad to help out, but ONLY help out, because the fishing season is at its best right now.
The Security System,called genesis Security Services, will be better organized than the Police force, since it will be entirely privately financed. Sherlock said in an interview with the local Newspaper: * This is the beginning of a new security system, that might even take over the regional police one day*

 

The Train station, the only one in Axis South, is overloaded by more than 400%.* It is time to do something* Mayor Rico Az cried out to the City counsil, and he promissed himself to make all the changes necessary for a better Mass-transportation system in his town.

The reason is simple, with the growing Axis City and Gloryville and being in the middle of both , Axis South has a lot of Commuters coming and going every hour. More than 8,000 Travelers see the inside of that little Station.  Mayor Rico also saw an occasion in this to make some income to pay for the better system, by raising, almost doubling, the pricing of the public transportations here in Axis South. That might even reduce the usage of the Commuters and help the public transportation blockage. Prices will be back to normal and acceptable costs, once a better transportation system is in use.

In Gloryville, a first event of some unsatisfied medical workers has occured  and finished in a general strike of nurses, doctors and others.
The situation was quickly managed to prevent a more serious situation. The funding of this department was raised.

Finally ,on Nexis Islands, the highway was lengthened to the borders of Nexis City, what Vallen Nexis was hoping for, and now Vallen can connect his highway in Nexis City . Because of some immense costs of a bridge , the highway was tunneled under the straights. Depending if Vallen Nexis wants to continue the maintenance costs of the country road, the small bridge might disappear.
Still the train system has to reach the islands, and that isn't due tomorrow, they say.

mrbisonm I have just found a program on a website that can calculate the effects of a astroid, or in your case a metor. If you like I can calculate the effects of the impact & effects in any scenario if you like.

what I need to know about the metor is

What is your distince from impact in Km.
what is the Projectile Diameter in Km.
What is Projectile Density in (kg/m^3).
What is Impact Velocity in km/s.
What is Impact Angle in Degrees.
And What is Target Density in (kg/m^3).

Doing this can calculate a scenario of what can happen.

First some answers to some questions:

moneii what you are asking me is off my knowledge, you have to talk to the Scientists on Uru or to Joao Otavio, he was there. I have never been there. All i know is that Opall is BIG and the impact will be total destruction of Uru and maybe some neighboring planets. Only the futur will tell. I have no idea, but thanks for your concern.

 

Vatt3: The garbage is from 7 municipalities and the rails are connected to: coming from the Northern Region, it goes through the major towns to simply end in Treeland in the court of the Razor Blade Logging Company. Follow the black enhanced lines on this map to find out more details of the railing system.

 

Here's another update for today, the last one though.

 

Dan, our newly arrived teacher has finally his elementary school in Nexis City and only a day after the end of the construction, another murder, the second on Genesis happened.
Dan didn't like too much the idea of it happening near a school, he called for help from the township.They called Sherlock Holmes IV. Genesis Security Services, will have an Officer around the school for awhile, until this and the first murder are resolved.
Dan, also lives nearby and he will only walk to the school, not being far away. The school has 16 kids now.

Also in Nexis City, but more near *downtown*, if we might call it so, Dr Evel has bought a home near his Starbuck Caf

That church is not yet available on the STEX. Have a look in the BAT forum under BATS by Nexis, it is 100% Nexis Product. I got the idea to more or less reproduce the SC3K church. It will be soon on the STEX, still have some fine tuning to do.

 

Evermind, the gardening is only for a day or two, so just to change your mind for awhile and relax after this big project.

An update for Sunday.

 

Let's talk about MrNight a bit, our Genesis Lawyer. Having been very busy with Axis and the Ambassador Ciroyon lately, but also with smaller matters , such as the Mining Compamy being formed in Corseville and others, MrNight opened an Office together with some Associates and a few Law students, fresh out of the University in Urulia, in Dam City. Since the laws here on Genesis are somewhat different, it is MrNight's responsibility to inform and teach these students the laws of Genesis.

Together with a Notary Office and an Insurance Company,this group of three built a Office in Grand Dam's downtown, which is largely under development, sharing different stories of the building. The Office was built just beside one of the newest financial Institution of Genesis, the Grand Dam Commerce Bank. Finally the First National Bank in Axis South has a competitor, which will help to lower the interest rates for loans for the general population.- On the left, we see the TV antenna booster from Gloryville's Tv Station,where Rico Az is the new Director of the TV-Sports Department.

 

Rilian has been finding more transparent gold pieces, much smaller than the one he found for the Oriole's Statue, and also found some other precious metals and stones. Now he rented a small store in a Commercial Service building in Nexis City to offer his products to the people. We can see him here talking to some of his customers outside on a beautiful Monday morning. The building belongs to a group of buissnessmen in Axis South , that have several of these Commercial Structures in different townships.

In Coarseville , the construction of the Genesis Standard Mine Company has almost been finished and the owner,Alexander MacVicar is already proud of his achievement.* Now all I have to do is to extract that ore and make a fortune* he's telling proudly to his friends. Smurfer from Tenzel Outlet has already started the construction of his Factory to produce the steel that everyone wants so badly.
Noyita Dice, the wife of Troy Nexis started her own buissness and something she likes to do. Building Bridges. She visited Smurfer and gave him a contract of
