As you can see the effects are very devistating. One alone can wipe out a entire continent, Imagine what several can do. I can deliver them straight from Chiron if you wish.

An update on the space station? Naturally it concerns me, I can't wait. Those Singularity Planet Busters seem a little too destructive no? I say they will produce unwanted side effects if they are used, but I'll keep quiet about it. Very nice updates, putting my cities to shame but then I learn.

ninten: the ferry ( or as they call it here the Farry) terminals are the originals from Rush Hour.......lol......I guess that we have so many custom lots in our plugin folder that we don't even recognize the originals anymore.....

 

The Evil Octopus Man: Like I said many times before, I have over 30 personalities to take care of, so sometimes one can follow his Genesis citizen for many pages to come and then all of sudden ,he won't be there for awhile, but don't worry, EVERYONE will have the same number of appearances in this story. Now, Alexander MacVicar, we will be talking about him sometime soon, since he is 3 posts behind, so he will do some upcatching .Don't worry folks, I will not forget one of you, even if it seems like it.

 

J.O. : if you followed the story from the beginning, you should know by now, that there are exactly 5 regions on Genesis,the one we are in is Genesis IV. I have talked about the northern region quite often,and started lately to talk about the eastern region too.

Hey, good updates.

I don't know if i would want to try and navigate the new harbor with a very large tanker. It looks as if it could get hairy trying to get into the docks closer to the land. Don't want to have an Exxon Valdez in this very, very beautiful land.

hey, good to see someone has been using my Comm Tower. I think that is my comm tower i uploaded to the stex. (The one by the t.v. station.) it is good to see it in use, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

br2tim, I know that the Axis harbour is more or less too tight for some of the big tankers, but it is mostly made for looks and not for the practical side of it. Just let's say, the ships that come here are the smaller types.

 

A small update this morning and it will continue during the day or the evening, whenever I find some time. It's my wife's turn to make the breakfast this morning , and she is still sleeping, so I will have some time to continue the adventure right now.

 

South of Gloryville and north of New Sholes (in the direction of Treeland), is a township that has been empty for quite awhile, so to speak. Atlas was finally and officially opened , but for government use only. So it was decided by the Rulers and the Counsil. The road and the train tracks that go right through it towards New Sholes and Treeland, and further to Coarseville and Black Lake,will not have a public turn-off or train stop in the Atlas County. On this map, you can see exactly where it is located.

 

This township will have a different Mayor than Gloryville , but will belong to the Capitol though and will be *ruled* by the Department of Genesis Defense and Secret Service (GDSS), which lately has been formed for the Security and Colony Protection by the Rulers and the counsil.
Here a landing strip, take-off platform and the manufacturing of space vessels and others have been built, and soon an army base will be added. Plus the Official Government Research Center from Gloryville will be moved to this township as well. A big part of the Futur Space Station Nexis I, will be built right here under the supervision of Tim and Evermind, and already a frame of that station is being shipped to the orbit of Genesis. The entire Space Program was financed by Vallen Nexis Inc.Tim will continue to build the pieces with his team of more than 50.

While Tim is supervising the construction of the Space-Station Parts on the ground in Atlas, Evermind was ordered to take care of the assembly in space,and let me add, when she heard the news that she was going into Space to work, one could easily identify the greatest joy ever on her face. *Space Station Director Evermind seems to be in heaven now*, was said on the front page of the Gloryville Tribune this morning.

I was driving up the road in West Axis one day, through the beautiful Hawklyn Valley Farms, to have a look at the new farm that Miss Kitty Cat was offered by the Rulers, but I was more than surprized that this section was completely off limits, even to me, when I got stopped at an official checkpoint. What is going on here? No questions were answered and I was ordered to leave the area.Hm.....?
Kitty Cat was a student with an agronomical degree that was hired by the Regional Office in Gloryville to do some agricultural research, but I didn't know, that this research was so secret. And what is that research all about anyways?

I was lucky though and got my hands on a picture from someone else (sorry, can't mention the name), that shows more or less of the location of that *Secret Farm*, just beyond the limits of the Hawklyn Valley Farms. From this picture, it seems to be a regular farm, and when I asked Adley Hawklyn about it, he just looked at me surprizingly and said: *Now I understand all the traffic that dispappears at the end of that road. I didn't even know, that someone was up that road.* And when I saw Miss Kitty Cat in my favourite Pub in Gloryville and asked her about it, she smiled and all excitingly said: * Right now we're seeding cabbage*............WHAT!!!!!?? Cabbage, yeah, sure!
- I have some good connections all over Genesis and I will get to the bottom of this and will keep you informed.

 

Like I said above, I will be back sometime today with another part of the update. We will talk about the beginning of the Space Station (pictures), J.O.'s explanations of the malfunction of the LBST,the developpment of Nexis and we will also get soem news from Barby,Alex MacVicar,Rico Az,the strange Dr Evel,Wren Trey and a Newcomer with the name of Dan.--Oh yeah, the results of the latest elections.

EDIT: Oups , I forgot the description on the last picture. This is West Axis and on the bottom we see the Hawklyn Valley farms and on top is Miss Kitty Cat's Farm and somewhere in between the checkpoint. West Axis is situated between Grand Dam and Axis City.

oooo, seems that my resarch in the mini LBST could be useful in the sapce station, no fuel being used to send the stuff to the space after the basic part of the sapce station is built

Great update,but I have some questions, 1. Where are the ships gonna go or come from for such a big harbor. 2, can i also be a certifieid pilot, and could we maybe see some more of New sholes and, bolton? 3, With the airport in Gloryville, wheres the airtraffic gonna come from? It's the only airport on Genesis

ok Jim, for the answers of 1 and 3 , read above. There are several regions that already did develop on Genesis. So naturally , there are airports and harbours. Remember when I connected the railways to the north and I mentioned that there was a region there also which is being populated and that that connection will help the economy with the Northern Region? 

 

There are 5 regions: North, South, East ,West and Central which is Genesis IV. Genesis V, the Western region is not yet populated. These regions will stay imaginary, since I will not start all these on top of all the work that I have with Genesis......lol

 

2. New Sholes and Bolton will have an update later this week or maybe next weekend. New Sholes has become quite an industrial township, so far the biggest on Genesis, but we 'll see that later.- Bolton is quiet, a lot of folks drive through here, but seldom stop. More and more people are interested to stay near the big Cities (Gloryville and Axis) , or completely away from them all, like Black Lake and Red Poll. Bolton is just in between, therefore not in demand for the moment. Besides ion the next update tonight, we will see how Nexis City has done in the last year and maybe you will understand that people will choose Nexis, before Bolton.- But who knows, maybe Bolton....well......we'll see!

Another small update, I have so many of them ready to upload.

Elections on Genesis for mayors and counsil member were done this week and under many, Freddy Bison was elected to become a member of the counsil. After the results he got drunk at his favourite Pub, only to wake up with a headache the next morning and not remembering that he was elected.

 

Axis City has chosen Coriyon , the Gaburan, again , but what a surprize for Axis Harbour and Axis South. Gaburan lost all his power in these two townships. In Axis Harbour a young kid was chosen and many say that he was bought by Vallen Nexis.I don't think so, since the kid had some solid arguments to offer to the Harbour Citizens.

 

Rico Az, who is now well known all over, because we see him on TV everyday as our Sportnews man, presented himself as the new Mayor for Axis South and...believe it or not....he won the election! A drunk on the street said : * If that guy can make it to mayor, well than I can too*, he was invited for a soup by the reporter,after the last stopped laughing his head off.
Rico also started investing some of his money into an Appartment block in Axis South, where he himself now lives. *Gloryville is far away to work for sure, but I love this place here,* he said in an interview.

 

In the beginning, when Axis City was founded by Mayor Ciroyon, Axis South was put aside by the last mayor. But now it will be hopefully different with Mr Az in the first seat. Axis South will still belong to the Axis Cities complex, such as Axis Harbour and West Axis, but it will have different leadership.

Remember the fellow that found some ore in Axis, when he was hired to do some digging for the canal? Well, this fellow, Alexander MacVicar, didn't give up on his idea and he searched for a long time to make his dream come true. With the financial help of the First National Bank in Axis South, he is investing his futur into a small ore mine, that he discovered in Coarseville, just south of the village. Also he was seen in a Restaurant in Bolton, where no one seems to know them,together with Smurfer,talking about buissness of some kind. I am sure that both of them are brewing something, but don't know exactly what yet. What has Smurfer to do with mining?

In the west of Gloryville, on top of the beautiful hills and just beside the Natural Park, Barby has improved her resort lately, now including a safari tour of wild animals,offering healthy food and believe me, I was there, that is THE place to spent a weekend beyond your dreams. I almost fogot that I lived somewhere else.

Another shot of updates, like this my 56 k connection is able to handle the uploads more easily, than if I upload a whole lot of pics in one shot (this site is getting slower for me).

 

Let's go to Uru a bit; we havn't been here for awhile. It starts to show in some places , that Urulians are leaving the planet, as we can see here in this town of Kamouk Dehent, one of the first civilized towns on Uru, more than 2000 Urulian years old. This town is completely abandonned and sealed of from the public now. Soon it will be only ruins and we all wonder, if the ruins will survive and leave some traces of the Urulian civilization after Opall's impact.

 

Even larger Cities, like Urulia, it starts to show that Opall is less than 120 years from the disaster. Here Joao Otavio and his group of professionals are almost working day and night to figure out what is wrong with the LBST system. Joao knows already exactly what is wrong now, but before announcing it publically, he wants to make some more tests to prove that he is right. Did he find out why it doesn't function anymore? Is it irreversible? We will know by next week.

Meanwhile in orbit of Genesis, Evermind is directing the first assemblies of the Space Station Nexis I, and it is starting to show. It will be a larger sized Station to hold as many as 24 scientists and reseachers, and will have a telescope, that even Urulians and Gaburans haven't seen yet. When Evermind came back from her first space trip, she and Tim, together with the CEO of this Program, Mr Nexis himself, had a news conference in Gloryville.Evermind said that the new telescope is so powerful, that we will be able to see the cities on Uru.....Wow, that is amazing!!

 

We can see some frame parts and also a mirrorpanel of the futur station floating in Genesis' orbit.

Here is an update of the Nexis Islands region, precisely Nexis City.

 

With the Evermind Mountain right in front view, Nexis City is located on the north shore of the biggest of Nexis Islands. North of it is the Tenzel river that will empty itself in Tenzel Outlet and in the east, is the Nexis river which will pass through Red Poll, New Sholes and Three Towers further away, to finally reach the same sea as all the other rivers.- In Gloryville , it was decided to build a road to the top of the  Evermind Mountain, on the Smurfer's trail, to finally have touristic Station up there, so everyone can have that exeptionel View of the Genesis Region.

 

Nexis City soon to be, only a small town yet, has elected Noyita Dice/Nexis, Troy Nexis' wife, as the mayor. *This is about the best person that I could have imagined to be the Mayor of my first City*, Vallen Nexis replied to one of the reporters from the Gloryville TV station, *she is determined as much as me to make this a beautiful place*.

Freddy Bison finally found his home too, and built his home just beside Vallen Nexis. Jim was hired to do the job, and he did a good one too.

A closer look of Freddy's *cottage* as he calls it.If you look closely in the early evening, you might see him on a small boat nearby , doing some relaxing while fishing in the best spot available.

Finally, the scientist have proven now what many citizens were talking about . The freshwater whales are only found in these waters, and only around the Nexis Islands. Now researchers want to find out why they only exist here. Vallen Nexis , curious about this too, will finance a Laboratory for this research,the building that Brett has been asked to design.

Rilian,the fellow that found the giant transparent Goldstone for Oriol's statue ( which we soon will see) ,invested some money he made, into a marina in Nexis City. He said when asked why here: * Nexis Islands are in the dawn of discovery and the most beautiful landscape around. Having this at your front door, you might as well explore it. And the best way to do this here on these islands, is by boat.That is why I got the idea to open a Marina right here* .Probably a darn good investment with a very good futur. He still wants to open a buissness of Waterworks here in Nexis City later

Then there is that strange and silent Dr Evel,which still most people are asking themselves....Dr in what?...He is running around the whole region to find these Llamas and sells them at top prizes to the Gaburans. Now he owns a small farm in Treeland and even raises them. But most surprisingly, he just opened the first Starbuck Caf

mrbisonm I understand that youwould not like to use a Singularity Planet Buster on that metor. you do need Controlled Singularity in order to have the ability to put a Singularity reactor on a Planet Buster. You also need to have Applied Gravitonics in order to have Controlled Singularity. It is a very devistating weapon, so I understand why you would not want to use it. If it is another reason, I would also understand.

Nexians, Urulians and Gaburans live on other planets in another Universe, if you did not realize that yet, and these things are not known to them, as little as we humans on earth can't  do that neither ,if a meteor of 15 times the size of earth is about to hit us.

 

That is the simple reason for not taking your planet busters. Besides this is *Nexis of Genesis *and not Alpha Centauri.

 

Thanks for trying to help the same, it is appreciated, but the Story of  Nexis' Destiny has been written since a long time and  I will not change it now.

Your Right, besides destorying the metor with a Singularity Planet Buster would probaly ruin the story anyways. But some of the concepts in SMAC would be cool in the Nexis of Genesis story, well thats what I think.

This is the last update for this weekend and I might be back later this week with some smaller updates. Now I have a lot of BATting to do for awhile.

 

Since Nexis City needs a school soon, the Minister of Education has hired a Newcomer to be responsable for an Elementary school soon to be build. Dan (annoyingdan), a new arrival on Genesis, was welcomed by the Immigration Comitee this morning in Gloryville, sending him right away to the islands.

 

In Gloryville, Lyll Nexis,(the younger sister of Troy) wants to start her own buissness with Papa's help of course. Lyll loves animals and wants to build a park, where they can be appreciated. A zoo in the Natural Park of Gloryville , would be to hermost wanted joys of life. Vallen, her father, is willing to support his daughter all the way.- Jadis , the other son of Vallen and brother of Troy, wants to get into buissness with his father making the Nexis Islands a beautiful place to live. Father Vallen again is 100% behind the Youngest of them all.

 

At last, after long months of hard work, a road to Fallow Canyon was finalized, exactly where the First contact with the Gaburan *Oriol* was held. After his death late last year, the Nexians promissed to erect a statue in his honor, right where he first was spotted. But the road to there was not constructed at that time. Now it is finished and the Park is open to the Public to visit.

 

The park is open to the public , but only with supervision of the Park security, which are at the entrance of the Park. When entering the Park for the first time, you will be reminded to look at your right and then at your left side to see a statue on each side,which represent the meeting of Oriol(right) and our Urulian Colonel Kroncx (left), who was the first to talk to the Alien.

The opening ceremony was held at noon , the time that Col.Kroncx and Oriol met almost 50 years ago. Thousands of Nexians were present and the whole ceremony was live on all TV stations. The statue holds on top a giant transparent Goldball,which Rilian found. This rare metallic Chrystal stone was the favourite of  Oriol, as he had some of it as jewellery, hanging around his neck and telling everyone that the transparent gold give one's longer life and better health, which he strongly believed in.

This though has still to be proven by our scientists.

Here are some data that was already posted somewhere here earlier: That makes a year on Genesis 77 days shorter than Earth's.

A day is 22.4 hrs, turning itself
A year is 288 days, around the sun Solaris
Average Temperature of 22.8 Celsius
24.2% bigger than Uru
Has 4 seasons like Uru and Ice on the North and South cap
Life in every form imaginable
No pollution whatsoever, except for 2 volcanoes still active
Whales by the tons
Highest Mountain is 6,712 m and deepest sea is only 948 m below sea level.
Funny thing though, scientists told in the news. If you weigh yourself on Uru and then on Genesis, you will have *gained* weight on the New Planet.Hm.....*

 

......and concerning the cottage and the statue,  I don't think I will make them available in the STEX for now.The cottage is a 2x2 lot and the statue is a prop. If you want them, PM me with an e-mail address that is not hotmail (not enough space), and I'll send them to you.

The reason is simple, there was too much *nagging * (I deleted these stupid comments) on the last BAT that I uploaded and I might not upload many on the STEX anymore for awhile. I can take serious and honest remarks, but not stupid nor sensless comments, mostly if they come from folks, that never made a lot nor a BAT and don't even know what they are talking about.

 

Thanks for the comments, they are always welcomed. For the next two weeks , I will do some *serious BATting*, because I need a lot of lots for some futur updates, .....so, I won't be able to make large updates like these ones on the last weekend anymore. But don't worry, there will be enough to keep you informed and happy I hope.
