It'll be a first for me too.....I've never been on ST chat.

I've been in the chat almost every day for the past year or so, and I can tell you that on weekdays, we get far fewer people coming into the chatroom than on the weekend. It works out to an average of something like this:

Monday-Thursday

(Times in GMT-1)

6am - 3pm: maybe a max. of 5 people in the chat, most from Europe, Oceania, and Asia. It very very rarely goes above 10 people. Once in a blue moon.

3pm - 6pm: Europeans get home from work/school, so it jumps to about 10 chatters. Some Americans wake up on the East Coast.

6pm - 9pm: Can be anywhere from 10 to 15 chatters.

9pm - 12am: Most Americans get home from work/school, so we can get up to 20 people in the chat.

12am - 6am: Number of chatters spikes, and then gradually decreases down to maybe 10, as Americans go to bed. Gets steadily lower, till only two or three are in chat.

Weekend

(Times in GMT-1)

6am - 3pm: Europeans are home, so it can be 10 chatters or more.

3pm - 6pm: Americans wake up; so we can get up to 15 chatters and more.

6pm - 9pm: Often over 20 to 25 chatters now.

9pm - 12am: Generally doesn't go much higher than 30 chatters, as Europeans/Asian go to sleep.

12am - 6am: Number of chatters spikes at about 25, then gradually decreases as Americans go to sleep, though as its the weekend, the spike comes later on in the morning.

Therefore, I'd suggest you move the date to a weekend or to Friday. Right now, you're excluding all Europeans and Asians from participating. as it will be midnight to the early morning when it happens. Being a school/work day the next day means people wont want to stay up.

That would be 12 am in GMT wouldn't it? I don't think I could go on. Especially on a tuesday night (with school). Why not move it to Saturday and at 6 pm EST?

Well, if it moves to the weekend, I could now be there.

I suggest we push this up to Saturday the 24th, 3 PM EST (8 PM GMT). Then we allow all of the US and Europe during the day on the weekend without going too late (people can still have their Saturday night out if they want). Sound good?

The date has been moved. See if you will still be able to attend. Let me know by PMing me. Until then, this list is taking a break from updates and will be out to lunch, so please stand by or the bunny gets it! 3.gif

The "if I fee like it" stands.

One thing you'll find about me is that I'm allergic to commitment. Last thing I want is to say I'm going to do something and then have the time come and find I'm not really in the mood at the moment.

I like to keep my options open. 31.gif

If I don't forget it (someone please give me a wake-up-call-p-message at around noon that day) I'll try to be there just for the fun of it.
