Oh wow, your right, but it is so small, I needed to view the original image to see it (possible because my browser covers it up)....

EDIT: *Grabs a watergun loaded with liquid 'killstuff' and sets out on a quest to distroy the pageflip bug*

Hmmm, it took the same amount of post as it took last time to drive back the pageplip bug. Could this have something to do with deleted messages in this thread?

Hmm. Or just an annoying coding bug.

How many posts did it take to kill the post bug before deleting those posts, and how many posts did it take to kill the post bug after deleting those posts?

You didn't post as brad or bryan 17.gif

Anyway.. It took 6 posts on this page (The 6th killed it) before I deleted them, and after I deleted them, it took 6 again.

Leech: At that time, I was dealing with an update for my CJ, not chasing down Brad and Brian for comments.

Brian2.jpgBrian: Who is this Bryan you are talking about?

Brad2.jpgBrad: That is the second time that has happened...

Brian2.jpgBrian: I think deleting posts fed the post bug before, causing it to create more post bugs.

Brad2.jpgBrad: So if it took 6 posts to kill the post bugs, and then three posts were deleted, it would take 9 posts to kill them after.

Brian2.jpgBrian: Assuming that is the correct theory.

Brad2.jpgBrad: Here, the post bug stayed at power 6, meaning it would have been neutered, preventing any more post bugs from forming.

Brian2.jpgBrian: But so far, it seems we must deal with the ones that are already here.

6.gif Wow! Great job in pointing that out! 6.gif

Edit: I found it... face-icon-small-tongue.gif I saved the image to the desktop and opened it up and zoomed in... Hmmm... seems like dirk is up to something...3.gif

How on earth did you find that Cockatoo?

Yeah you have to save the image...  then open it up in a image viewer program...  at 100% you can just see it but at 400% the hidden message becomes clear as above...

There is no doubt about it...   dirk is up to stuff.

Brad2.jpgBrad: I can clearly see it just by looking at the corner of the screen where it is.

Brian2.jpgBrian: Of course, it doesn't stand out, we have to know where it is to find it.

Brad2.jpgBrad: But once we know where it is, we can look there and clearly see it.

Brian2.jpgBrian: Might have something to do with monitor contrast.

Ha, I don't really know, I can make it out at 100% now that I know it’s there... guess I must have good eyesight or something... (or a good monitor.) But don’t get me wrong, it’s not popping off the page, I just glanced over the banner and barely noticed it.

I can't see it at all on the site, though it's pretty easy to make out on the image on my hard drive even at only 100%.

The reason for this is that the message is at the extreme left of the banner, which is cut off on the site as I see it. Compare:

    bannermsg.png

The other thing of it is, the color difference is very slight. Along most of the letters, taking a fill bucket to them with a color threshold of only 3 will start to fill surrounding areas. And adjusting brightness and contrast does little towards making it more visible. The contrast between the sky and clouds exceeds the contrast between the sky and the words, so the as one increases the contrast, the words start to get slightly more visible at first, but before long the contrast between the sky and the clouds (which is much greater to begin with) takes over in the enhancement and the words vanish.

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.
If you can read this, you deserve a cookie.

It's on the left of the banner, correct Duke. Now the reason, is that the header image is "centered" meaning it displays the exact center of the image in the exact center of your screen based on your resolution and browser window width.

So that explains why the laptop and 17" monitor people can't see it and the folks with the uber wide screens can...

Any which way you look at it...   that is one uber sneaky message.

Now all we have to do is work out what the change is gonna be...  methinks it is gonna be more than just a speed up in page load times...

3D holographic walk through forums?  Now that would be cool.

Brian2.jpgBrian: So how can we easily see it with a roughly 15 inch laptop screen?

Brad2.jpgBrad: Of course, the resolution is set to the setting that is most likely impossible to read unless you have good vision...

Brian2.jpgBrian: By the way, there's a message on the right side as well.

Brad2.jpgBrad: Normal view, followed by an "enhanced" view. If it helps.

Wow!  Super cool secret messages!  9.gif

Although, I must admit, I'd be sad to see 5.0 go.

Unless, of course, 6.0 is indeed a holographic walk-through forum.  3.gif

Well it is not as far fetched as it sounds...   there are those online games like Runescape that you can walk around and meetup with people in real time if they are on line...

    Club penguin...   hmmm...   club Simtropolis....

Kinda like the Sims2 I suppose...

I would have to look like a hunk of course...

So I could mozie on into the forums bump into someone and then type something into a speech bubble and have a chat about the latest gossip!

    Heh.

I actually read about a browser that was in develoment that would do something like that. It was in full 3d and would display sites like youtube as a movie theater. I'll have to see if I can find the article.

EDIT: AHA!! I found it! Here we are, 3D interwebs!
