Hi and welcome. So I decided to do a CJ on the forums of simtropolis. So welcome to....

DaytonaCanyon....

Some Stats:

DaytonaCanyon is an metropolitan area of 13,5 millions sims. More than 90 cities are in that region. The metropolitan area is divided in 6 districts.

Fairfax; It's a small island colonised by spanishs, now it's a platform for people that are going to Pacifica from Downtown.

DaytonaCanyon; The downtown is there and the historic city aslo. There's a canyon named Deitonah by the natives. That district is the center of the agglomeration.

Pacifica; That's one of the most touristic area. There's larges beaches and some wealthy hotels. The main cemetery is also here. A part of the international seaport and the Yannafields Intl' Airport are there.

Whitehorse; Named after the name of a mountain, that district is very industrial, the other part of theinternational seaport is here. There's a lot of transit there.

St-Jean; It's majoritary suburbs, vast lands and there is a national park named Manhasset.

So now let's have a regional view:

Click on the link because the screen is more than 800x600 ;-)

http://img154.echo.cx/img154/754/regionalviewjp5fw.jpg

So that's all for today. In next days you will see the complete rearangement of the international airport......

So now it's the comment time!44.gif

I know I'm late but with more than 40 screenshots, I wish that you will understand. Also building that airport was very difficult for me. It took me alsmost 75 hours to build that. So here we go!

Freight Customs, it's here that all the freight go before to get on markets by trucks.

Here's the only way to get out of the freight zone:

Wow! That is a HUGE airport! Looks awesome so far, but I was a little sad when I saw that your city is a skyscraper forest. Ah well, Skyscraper forests are ok, and there arent many going on right now so, good luck with this!

Yeah but I really need to change the density to have a more metropolitan look and downtown contrast. I know that and that's my goal. You will see me trying to make my city nicer, skyscraper forest, no more and that's why I began that CJ also, cause I will change all of m cities for a nicer and more realist look, It already began but now I want comments only on the airport, don't comment other things.. And also my city looks nicer when we are near and I'm not the only that said that! 29.gif

    That airport is awesome!

I never really figured out how to make diagonal tarmac / grass for airports. How do you do it?

Great! Where did you get those airport pieces? Great use of them! Gettin money from the tolls and fares to get there, eh? You could make a tutorial of how to use them you know!

It's just eye-canday because it's just for security guards to verify acces from trucks only (cargo zone) and to exit that zone....

Your work on that airport is quite an accomplishment! You can tell it must have taken a lot of time and effort.

Nice CJ so far. Will be interested in its progress.

That is certainly one of the best airports I've seen on here. Certainly top two or three. Very impressive and very realistic, how expansive it is.

I really like this CJ... Usually I stick to those smaller or mid-sized cities but I guess you're creating a big one. Realistic International airport, I must say. Roads are well-planned, It seems that you have used your imagination...Way to go man! Wanna see more!

Wow, nice airport. Very realistic. You've managed to convey the sheer size of these things well. My region's airport (see link in sig) is nothing like that big, but then, it's only a small national capital of about 170,000 presently!. My next region will have a large airport, though.

What I like about the surrounding city also is that there's a zone of lowrise. amd most of that is industry. Whatever you do when you change your region, DON'T change that - it's very realistic.
