Hello,

Some of you may have looked at my last CJ, Cork, which I have had plugin problems with and its becoming harder and harder to run. So I decided to start another city, this time with a map downloaded off the STEX and a more organised plugins folder. I will be showing you the region map and a bit of history ect in the next update but for now soem pictures giving a look at the downtown so far.

4-1.jpg

Now a closer look at some of the buildings.

mos1-1.jpg

mos2-1.jpg

mos3-1.jpg

On Marshall Corner situates the second tallest tower in the district, completed in 2001 it is currently owned by a foreign bank.

amos3.jpg

Shield Plaza is currently the tallest building in the district, it was completed in 2000 as part of the millenium development project. Inside the shiny facade is the Sedgeford trade center and stock market.

1.jpg

Hawker square was completed in the 1960's as part of a post war development, with the square being named after the famous British aircraft manufacturer.

3-1.jpg

Moving west from the financial district is Farrier road home to two modern mid-rises built in the 1980's.

2-1.jpg

While much of Sedgeford has been developed into shiny new offices, a lot of the older buildings still remain. Baron cross being a popular tourist destination because of the two towers built in the nineteenth century.

This is really good!  I am impressed.  I dont mind only pictures.  Im not one who likes to read alot of text lol.  I liked the little walk along the water.  Very pretty!  Nice job incorporating the French w2w & modern looking buildings.  4.gif

Well, as long as you have pictures like that, I don't know if too many people will be complaining about the lack of descriptions.

    ooh, a fancy banner.

panthersimcity4 - First comment! Thank you!

Amerikaner - Thanks for commenting. Yeah I agree the water mod isn't the greatest and I have been trying to change it but I can't because I think the terrain mod I'm using won't let me. :S

BlondeTwiggy - Thanks, glad you like the w2w buildings, I didn't use them much in Cork but hoping to use them a lot more here.

anarchy0029 - Thank you, I'm glad you like it.

spore415 - Thanks for commenting, I guess I could find your bank an office or a branch somewhere, as I get quite stuck for names 3.gif

    edmonton_stinks - Thanks a lot, I've added a bit of describtion but I'm not really a storyteller.

Bridgewater Place perhaps one of my favoruite buildings on Sim City, probably because a few weeks ago I was stuck in traffic in Leeds for ages. Anyway the building is a shopping centre and offices.

edmonton_stinks - Thank you for commenting.

jacqulina - Thank you, glad you like the seawalls. They wern't my first choice of seawalls but I think they look quite good too.

spore415 - It will be modest tower, I'm resisting the temptation of putting up supertall skyscrapers everywhere.

roboo1 - Thanks, honoured that you can use this as insporation for your CJ , which is excellent so far.

JJC12321 - Most of the buildings I have shown so far are made by ill tonkso and porkissimo. Glad your enjoying it and thank you for commenting.

blue sinjid - Thank you! Mosaics are great, a bit of a faff but worth it.

I was going to post an update now, but I messed up the mosaic so you'll have to do with just one picture I forgot to put in the last update. I'm such a meanie 4.gif

Looking great here! Awesome job Viles!

I have 2 pointers to give ya:

    1. I see you are using the euro road textures mod, but its not working for curves or diagonals. To fix this, make sure it loads AFTER the NAM. You can put a "zzz" in front of the filename to ensure this.

    2. Some of your slopes look a little steep and bumpy. I would suggest getting a slope mod to make your slopes more realistic.

Other than that amazing start! I look forward to more of Sedgeford!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Nice start Viles. I enjoyed Cork, but I don't think i'll miss it thanks to this new effort!

I like Bridgewater Place too. It looks great as you approach Leeds on the train! I don't drive but I know Leeds is supposed to be one of the worst inner city driving experiences in the UK.

I like your use of the old buildings at Baron Cross. That's a nice, fancy banner too!

Regardless of the size of the update, you're still updating amazingly frequently. Besides, it's a good picture. Are those gascooker houses I see in the background?

haljackey - Thanks! The problem with the road textures is because I was using a mod which gets rid of the annoying grass next to diagonals but it doesn't work with the euro road mod. If anyone could find a solution to this I will be very greatful. Agreed about the slopes, I have aslope mod installed but not when I did the bridges.

psander5 - Thank you. Yes, inner Leeds is awful traffic wise, didn't help that the directions decided to take me through the city centre.

    feliwi - Thanks for commenting!

edmonton_stinks - The updates are coming thick and fast at the moment, I should really space them out a bit but oh well.

    On with the update!

A little bit of overview for you, but I can't give too much away yet!

Looking really nice again. I really like your shots and the style you are using, reminds me of my old work a bit when I did TIENT. 9.gif

Anyway fabulous work on that last mosaic, the modern and Parisian styles match together so nicely. The banner your using is just as interesting as well, I think I looked at it longer than the update, haha!

Ah, so that's why. I am not too sure what you can do to fix that, but I'd suggest you post it in the NAM board to bring it to the team's attention.

-Good to know you got a slope mod!

...And another amazing update too! You sure have wonderful city building and photoshopping skills! Nice work!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Amerikaner - Thanks a lot, glad you like it.

haljackey - I might have to pop in and tell them then. I've also re done the bridges with the slope mod and its looknig a lot more smoother. Also thank you for commenting.

Keep your comments coming, I enjoy reading them but now time for another update!

All these updates are hard to keep up with. I'm having a tough time posting on all of them.

Another great downtown update! You've got a good selection of offices to go with the Parisian W2W's.
