I know there was this one show on Discovery channel that showed futuristic buildings:

One (I don't remember the name of it, so I can't get a picture of it) Was going to be built so that each level would spin a different way around on a metal post, making 360 degrees in 90 minutes. And it wasn't just 5 floors, it was going to be a wealthy office building that was around 90 floors high. But later it said that too many people would get sea sick, it would be too complicated to get to other floors, and it would be WAY too expensive to build, but it was a good idea. 3.gif

Through the core, of course!

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

^Yeah, but...

In every normal building, the core is aligned with the "outer shell". You can make a, say, water pipe go straight from the central core and out to a sink mounted on the outer wall. Everything fine.

With a rotating building, the pipe would be bent as the outer shell rotated. It would eventually snap. The same goes for wires, AC, sewage, etc. I can see what they would do with the doors, but what about the things that require a permanent connection?

Maybe there are several pipes that could connect to the core and there is a small water tank and septic tank that fill up and empty out when they get the chance (when the pipes connect). There could be sensors and some flexibility that allows the pipes to connect for an hour.

Some of them are pretty cool but most make me wonder why they are still allowed to stand.

Oh, one more thing, redx.gif

These buildings, are just strange. They have strange looks. I don't know their names but, one of them is the Ferarri World Headquarters, andother a giant shark tooth, and look at them...

The Dome-Home

And the...

Ferarri Building

Building From 2008 Olympics

That above was the building the swimming was held in the 2008 Olympics.

I don't know what that is supposed to be really

The flower building I guess...

One Big Shark Is Under There!

Now one big shark must be under there, looking up...

And now here is the Burj Dubai... everyone's tallest building on the old world sort of favorite...

Burj Dubai

Were these weird enough? With the people that are dressed exactly the same way at the bottom?
