college football has become the most incredible sport in the world IMO. It now has parity, but the traditional powers usually overcome. However, the way the season starts makes it more interesting for fans of second tier schools like me. I doubt last season would have been any where near as fun if BC didnt make it up to #2 and didnt reach the ACC title game.

yesterday, the georgia and michigan games were incredible.

MCGUFFIE!

    Lots of Upsets this week

Texas beats OU 45-35 not a real upset but OU was #1.

    #3 Missouri loses

    #4 LSU loses

    #13 VAnderbuilt loses

    #20 Auburn loses

Expect Texas to jump #1 with Alabama not playing, and #1,3 and 4 losing.

    Tech to #5?

Edit: How could i forget Michigan loseing to toledo, IS that worse then last years loss to

    Appalacian State?

I watched some of the OU v. Texas game, and it was awesome. I love college football. I've missed so much this year, and when I watch a game like that I kick myself for sleeping in. I need to quit one of my jobs....

    No upsets this week.

Unless you count the 17th , 18th,21st and 25th teams losing.

BC beat #17 VT, moved into the rankings at #23.

    Interesting thing in the ACC.

Three teams left the rankings, VT, wake, and UNC.

Three teams entered the rankings, BC, FSU, and georgia tech [not sure, might have been a different than GT]

yet Tech still receives little respect...the only program in the nation without a losing season for the past 14 years i believe...they pound kansas harder than oklahoma did and OU is still ahead...maybe if we beat Texas, we'll make it up to number 4...

I was supprized they rolled up that much on Kansas, I was expecting the same results we get every year, we manhandle the spares and get beat by any one good.

This year will be different, I think they can beat OU thier defence is terrible, Texas im not sure about they are realy realy good this year.

Texas will have loads of trouble with Tech...Texas ranks 111th in the nation in pass defense...Tech is somewhere in the top 5 in passing offense...so we know the Horns won't be able to stop the Raiders...but what we don't know is will the Raiders be able to stop the Horns?...everyone was talking about Kansas having a pretty stout defense and Tech made it look like there was no one defending them. Everyone was worshipping Kansas' offense...Tech's first team only allowed 14 points...sounds like the Raiders are real and the Horns should be scared...Tech destroyed Kansas on the road...now they get Texas at home...it's gonna be fun!!!

Just watched Wisconson blow a game at Michigan State.

They call a time out with 10sec or so left which gave MSU time to get a proper field goal set.

    Idiots

Lubbock will pretty much be shut down for four hours. There's a huge crowd of people camped outside the stadium...so many, in fact, that the dwelling has a name: Raiderville. The parking lot of Jones AT&T Stadium has more people living there right now than any single suburb of Lubbock (actually, Lubbock only has a single suburb...).

    And benches.  Again 3.gif....

Nothing, NOTHING was like watching that game!  I couldn't be there, because everyone else requested that day off to go so I got stuck at work, but I work at a Main Event (billards, bowling, laser tag, mini golf and a bar and cafe all under one roof), and they have HD TV's and projector screens all over the place, so I wasn't in the worst place in the world to watch it, to say the least.  And with all the people that came out to watch (both UT and Tech fans), there was a lot of energy all night.

The last minute and a half, the place was still...the managers were all watching the game, we were all watching, everyone stopped bowling...then that last catch, and it erupted!  People were running around, employees jumping up and down hugging each other.  If some little kid got trampled, no one noticed...it was amazing!  When it was over, I could walk out into the parking lot and hear the fans at the stadium about a mile away.

It was without a doubt the best game of college football I have ever been fortunate enough to witness (keep in mind that I missed that OU-Boise St. bowl game a year or two ago).  Definitely the biggest in our school's history.  500th win for the school, 9-0 for the first time in nearly 70 years, first time ever defeating a #1 team, etc.  Amazing, and that doesn't quite say it.

Of course, now we have two other top 10 teams to look out for, including an excellent-looking Sooners team that'll be looking for revenge for that upset last year when we beat them late in the season and took them out of the championship race.
