Urgent SimCity4 installation Help

I can't get the game to install. I keep getting to 100% installation, but the E:/Sound.dat can't copy over, there is some kind of error. Can somone provide some help? I used to play this game all the time on my old computer, but ever since I got vista, I can never get the game to install.

Hmm. maybe the cd is dirty.  (that happend to my old sc4 disc) maybe clean the disc and try again ?

I cleaned off the disk with my shirt, but it did not help. I doubt blowing on it would make much difference either.

I had an error like this at one point, i dont remember how i solved it but when i did i ran into another brick wall, the copy protection would not recognize te CD in the drive, it kept telling me "insert correct CD" even though the CD was in the drive.

In the end i torrented a copy, save yourself some trouble dude.

try putting in disk 2. I had a similar problem back in the day and to fix it, I put in disk 1 to bring up the autorun menu then I switched to disk 2 to play the game. It always worked for.

This happened one time, my CD 2 got so scratched that It couldn't copy one of the .dat files :-P I just downloaded a CD 2 off a torrent site and burnt a copy and I use it just to install, the original CD still works for the copy protection.
