Can you make power poles that could be put on sidewalks on streets, avenues, and roads as a prop for it??, with electrical wires on them??

lasc2er4vm0.jpg

For example, I would like these power poles to be made in BAT. The tall power poles are the subtransmission power lines with distribution power lines on the bottom and can be appeared along a avenue on sidewalks in Sim City 4, and the small power poles are the distribution power lines and can be appeared along streets and roads on sidewalks with electrical wires, and it should be props for streets, avenues, and roads on the sidewalks. It will be very realistic in Sim City 4 with these power poles along streets, roads, and avenues. Make these power poles in the BAT as it is in the picture!!

oh wow thats a awesome idea. Surprised nobody has thought of it till now. Realism would go up by millions.. Great idea, but can it be done?

You have to make a BAT of the power poles as a prop for streets, roads, and avenues, make these power poles in the BAT as it is in the picture I showed you.

It will work, but only on flat land i think, adding them on slopes would prove to be troublesome.

Nice idea! I have been thinking about adding such poles in my CJ but in photoshop. I would make a nice addition to suburbs as in the big city centers electricyty wires are put underground, so there should also be an option in this mod which will switch off the "poles making on some part of a steets". Hope you undersatnd me9.gif

Streetlight725:   You can make these power poles in the BAT, but it should be props for streets, roads, and avenues. Also when you make these power poles, make them as it is in the picture. I will show you the picture,

    lasc2er4vm0.jpg

While you make these power poles in the BAT, the picture will show you what the power poles look like, and make them as it is in the picture I showed you. And remeber it is a prop for streets, roads, and avenues.

roboo1:  That is a great idea!!, This could be a mod for streets, roads, and avenues. The tall power poles will appear along avenues except high density commercial, and residential areas. And the small power poles will appear along streets, and roads and will appear in low density residential, commercial, and agriculture areas. And medium density industrial, commercial, and residential areas will have small power poles along streets, and roads. The high density industrial areas will have power poles along streets, and roads. The high density residential, and commercial will have just underground power lines. The power poles will be in Sim City 4 looking like the power poles in the picture I showed you. How about you could make these power poles in the BAT ??

you can, but you have to model them ahead of this (what actually ain't that much of a problem since it's an easy model almost only consisting of basic shapes, everyone can do this).

as for the slopes, I don't see a problem either. keeping the pole's proportions, the calbes would be that thinn that you almost can't see them ingame, so you can ignore them imho

nflfan335: someone has to make these power poles as it is in the picture, and put them on the sidewalks of streets, roads, and avenues.

GMT: I don't have BAT, but you can make them on the BAT, and it's easy to make, I will show you the picture what the power poles look like,

    lasc2er4vm0.jpg

But GMT, you don't have to add the wires on these power poles as it is in the picture, but you can use the wires from the maxis power lines. And it should be to Sim City 4 scale. And the power poles should be seen in-game.

hmm im surprised no one has ever thought of actually making this. It could almost be like the street addon mode, and add a load of realism.

You guys are late on the uptake...dedgren has been experimenting with powerpoles and signs along the roads for some time now in [Three Rivers Region on SC4D].  Well...actually, they're rural power poles (the wooden variety), and they were made by threestooges at dedgren's suggestion (so I believe).  Still, might want to check it out, eh 2.gif?

Not the thread on sc4devotion.com, Those are plopable power poles, I am thinking of having power poles as a prop on sidewalks of streets, roads, and avenues.

In England (and elsewhere most likely) the streets evolved before power lines came to be. When the power lines were put in pace there was no advantage to having them follow the roads so they went every which way. I don't suppose there would be any way to simulate that, though.
