The Processor is good, the video card, not so good for gaming and video editing, motherboards is fine.

You should have no problem with it but you might not play some games smoothly.

Go with what aspire said. These days intel are the top dog and you want one of their dual/quad core CPU's.

If you want this to be a gaming rig i recommend the ATI 4870. If you really want to crank up the res the 4870 X2 (basically two 4870 GPU's slapped on the same card) is the single fastest card available on the market right now. The 8600 GT is old tech, im using one on my laptop right now and its OK but its not really the best thing for a gamer.

Also dont skimp on the PSU, it can save you a lot of bother later on by getting a solid PSU from the start. Seasonics are considered high quality.

AMD and ATI suck. Go with a C2Q6600 if you are on budget or the e8400 it's pretty solid.

As for the video card, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500007

Memory Size 512MB, Memory Interface 256-bit, Stream Processors 112, Core clock 660MHz.

As for an Intel motherboard, anything below 70 will do it, make sure it has a fsb of 1333 or lower a pci-e x16 slot.

What exactly makes you say this? Please provide intelligent backing on that statement.

@pagenotfound. What kind of games are you playing? Do you have a budget?

The AMD Phenom is not testing out very well.. and it's a power burner delux.. make a good room heater if you live in the northern climes.. I'd go quad.. they can be had very inexpensively and are phenomanal performers.. otherwise I'd say fine.. 4.gif And I say this as an AMD user.. the quads are just unbelievable for the money.. even the cheap ones are excellent performers
