I worked on Sagronda Bend today. When I was done, It looked like a rich version of Mexico. Thats when I took this pic. Not much, but hey, everything doesn't have to be huge.<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>

That plaza isn't done yet, kinda. I planted tons of oak trees that haven't grown yet. I tried to make it look like an old park built on the river that has started to erode a bit. you can't really tell from that far away though.

MT - yours is by far one of the top City Journals i have viewed. the way you have your downtowns developing is nothing short of phenomenal.

i can't really decide on my favorite city, and the region is perfect for what you are doing. congrats. this should be up for the '04 Golden Llama for city design. :D

i have a request and a few questions.

Request: show us more pictures of the entire region. seeing all the downtowns in one shot would be more than impressive.

Question: it seems like you are just making your roads, and then zoning and all of a sudden they are full. how are you doing this? what cheats?

Thanx for the compliments!  <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/6.gif> I NEVER thought anyone would like this cj enough to even bring up trixies! Thats awsome!!!!!!!

About the request, lol the reason I layed off on region pics was that everyone wanted close ups. Now when Im doing close ups people want region shots! How about this guys. For every update with more that 3 pics I will give a region shot.

On the question: I am veary much a cheater. I use the cheat so I dont need power plants (but I do this because I think the current power plants stink! They dont produce enough power and most cities get there power from thousands of miles away anyway!), I use the no water cheat (cause Im to lazy to lay out pipes), I use super demand (maxes out your demand for everything simply because I like to start off big <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/22.gif>) and I use lots of other things. I do use the modd that lets you start off with lots of money, but after that I earn my money normaly.

That plaza park should look really good once those trees have grown up.  The whole region looks good.  I'd have to second steveg's nomination there, at least in an unofficial capacity.  I also have a question.  What is the building that I've indicated with the arrow?  I don't recognize it.

A little update for tonight. First up:

    /idealbb/files/p155.jpg

After several years of abuse, the origional expansion plan was voted back into action by the city council. The first completed phase of this renewed project is the Matanzas Woods subdivision. It is also the first subdivision on the east side of the Gold rail line. Matanzas Woods is currently occupied by 7,000 happy sims.

    /idealbb/files/p246.jpg

And finaly a fresh new region pic. The current regional population is 325,965 sims. Another thing that is going to be taken into account is the future of the Verona National Forest. Developers have had there eyes on the area, and voting will begin imidiately. Not only will the city council and mayor vote, I am also asking YOU to vote yay or nay as well. once the votes come in, (probably next sunday) a disision will be made, will the forest stay, vanish, or grow smaller? You decide.

If my region turns out half as well as yours I'll be amazed. Good job man! I like how you actually used my suggestion, and IMO the park has really had a good effect on downtown. I'd like to see what you think fo my CJ, really. Anyway, great job!

Thanx for the compliment! I like using suggestions. Thats why I keep asking for comments! Once long ago when SC4 was new, someone told me that I should use more parks in my cities. After that I have allways included atleast 1 major park into my regions. I like seeing what you guys think and want to see.

P.S. Look in your cj. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>

And as for the region census, I love it too. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>

Well, I didn't do as much with downtown Verona as I thought. I mostly just addae a couple of BAT buildings that I really like. There are a few problems deep inlayed in downtown that im trying to work out but for the most part things are going well.

Here are a couple of pictures.

    /idealbb/files/p156.jpg

In this pic you can see most of the new BAT buildings that were added.

    /idealbb/files/p248.jpg

And in this pic you can see one of the areas that needs work. Being a perfectionist, I hate how close these to skyscrapers are too each other. Because downtown is built up all around it though, I will probably have to live with this one.
