You have a beautiful region. I particularly like the geography of the area, which could make for some interesting connections, as well as the street plan and city layout. I look forward to further development.

I actually thought that the Rimini airport looked more realistic, with its runway jutting into the water, before you remodeled it.

Gotland is the largest island in the Baltic Sea. It is a municipality of Sweden. Did you name your region after the island?

Just out of curiosity, how is it possible to be 3/14 Norwegian?

Tim i think you need to add some form of a connecting highway in this coridor i would be pissed if i had to go north east towards the airport or across the bridge and had to exit the main highway onto arterial streets then back onto the highway 1.gif just a thought............

Thanx for the replies! Oh and Hill I was allready going to do something similar. I am just waiting till I get a little closer to that area. I will be gone from Wendsday till sunday and won't be anywere near a computer. So This will be my biggest update ever!<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif>
These probably won't be in order, because I really don't have much time.

    /idealbb/files/p134.jpg
I changed the airport AGAIN! I really like it now though so this is how it will stay.
    /idealbb/files/p229.jpg

    A close up.

    /idealbb/files/p416.jpg

I added grass lots along the unused spaces of highway to spur on development.

    /idealbb/files/p515.jpg

    A regional traffic map.

    /idealbb/files/p69.jpg

I decided to spare everything to the left of the highway of development. It will be a National Forest.

    /idealbb/files/p74.jpg

Here is what the highways look like when the grass lots are covered with trees.

    /idealbb/files/p88.jpg

Here is the highway without trees.

    /idealbb/files/p93.jpg

And finally here is the entire city in Catilina!

Because of the weather in North Carolina, My trip has been delayed. I'm not shure if I will be going tomorrow or if I just won't go at all. I don't have to go to school tomorrow though so I might manage an update. Also, since I kinda got the hint that you guys wanted to see more of Elba and Sagronda, I decided to work on em a little.<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif>

I mostly worked on Elba and that is what I have pictures for now.

/idealbb/files/p135.jpgElba has began to get another downtown and some of its ports have been rebuilt. While it is not expected to get much larger than it is now, when asked people in Elba were delighted to see there once quiet suberb return to some of its old glory. It is also a much faster way to go shoping. While this mini Downtown will draw away some of Verona's buisness it is not expected to make a huge diffrence.
     /idealbb/files/p232.jpg

I also worked on the burbs a bit more and added this.

    Thats it for tonight!<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>

Well, by north I think you mean the northern most cities in my region? In that case nothing much has happened since I started work on Verona. I did do what is shown above though. That is in Elba.

Well man you got a very nice city. I think it is starting to catch-up to what Joerg can do. This is beautiful. I wish I had The creativity to do something like that. But all I can do is recreate cities from a map. Like my Toronto Region. Love the city keep up the good work.

    UPDATE:

I just took some pictures and thought i'd put em up as the first update since I got back.

    /idealbb/files/G23.jpg

This pic is a bit old but I wanted to put it up so that you could see the city boundries and names.

/idealbb/files/g15.jpgThis pic is of the flood plain to the East (or right) of the Verona Peninsula. (I know, I am horrible at names). It will be allmost all farms with a few small towns to dot the landscape.

And now for an update on the city of Catilina

     /idealbb/files/p233.jpg

A ritsy naborhood next to the National Forest.

    /idealbb/files/p325.jpg

A pic of the whole city.

    /idealbb/files/p137.jpg

and one of a newly developed hi tech facility near the outskirts of town.

I dont get around much but every time i come back and look around the journals there is another great journal. I have always lliked cities like this where the downtown is well defined and the city stretches nicely around it.

Your airport looks very nice aswell.

My favorite city is Verona! I just like city center and how the suberbs spread out around it. Though all your cities look good.

    Small Update on Tripany.

    /idealbb/files/p138.jpg

Here is the Tripany Sports & Rec Center. I modeled it after a park I used to live by.

    /idealbb/files/p235.jpg

    A park and small neiborhood.

    /idealbb/files/p326.jpg

    Area around the Rec center.

Great job on your City Journal. This is one of the best styles I have seen and like. The main idea of a downtown then suburbs of housing and commerical. Arport is great also. Well, mostly, your region is great. Good job! This is one of the one's I'm going to watch.

This is a very good region, Mayor Tim! I especially like the airport (although a few more hangars would be good) and the suburbs. It would ba a good idea to extend the ferry network : I see dotty lines coming off the mainland (Elba) which fade in the ocean : a few ferry terminals in Verona would help commute time.

I'm REALLY buisy with the expansion. It is happening in two citys, Rimini and Catilina. So far, I have done the massive commter train line which links Downtown to all the suberbs and even other citys. It is 4 tracks wide in some places, and took a lot of effort. Also finished most of the roads for the expansion in Catilina (pic at bottom of post). A lot of the zones are done also. I haven't even started in Rimini yet, which is were most of the expansion will be.<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/14.gif>
