Hey mrbrisonm i love your terraforming, it's good to see that you put a lot of effort into it because you don't use a greyscale. Keep it up!

What would i find cycledoggs trees under in the stex?

Some really nice Terraforming you have here. Its truely a masterpeice in its own right. The only problem I see with it is it is to good to actually build upon. Keep up the great work.

Hey thanks for all the psoitive comments and so many of them too...48.gif
MsCharamuth, continue with your story about your region being discovered, because this region is already discovered, but not settled.
subedei,I can understand you that you say that the region is too nice to build on, but in real life, it has been like this ever since humans were born, they simply invade without really caring much about the beauty of the land, as long as it is suitable to live on.
jacquelina, you want plenty more? Well, you will be plenty served.

Well today I have two new counties to present to you. Both of them are in the east and in the south. The first one is called Cold Springs and the other is called Willow.

First though let me tell you that the story of Lavender will only officially start this fall, and it will start in the year 1952 with the arrival of some of big the Lavender Family. This is not a land that has not been discovered yet, it is a land that everyone already knows, it has been mapped , but hardly can have access to it, except by the waterways. Lavender was discovered in the late 1880's by a man called Goerge Lavender, who also bought most of the land here at the same time and which is still belonging to the family of Lavender, the decendants of George. Once the Gouvernment will build the Highway 22 over these lands that they bought especially for it as planned, the story of Lavender will begin....and this in 1952.

This is a regionview of todays Lavender with the two newest additions. Only two more counties will be missing and then I have to do all the details in each region. But it looks already pretty good sofar and we all can imagine already, where villages will be born and where the City will be in the futur far away.

    1Lavender10.jpg

Cold Springs, east of Firlington the last one that we visited, has many cold springs and that is why it is named so. Up in the mountains, two small very cold lakes go underground only to suface as springs near the round lake in the valley, surrounded by tall needlebearing trees. Maybe a small moutain village could founded somewhere here,or maybe not.

    2Cold%20SpringsView.jpg

A real wild little lake and a beauty of its kind. No modern man yet has stepped on these beaches and left their footprints, unless long time ago that we don't know off. Even George hasn't been here. The lake is also too small to be landed on with a Beaver (hydroplane).

    3Cold%20Springs-lake.jpg

If you look closely and be patient you might see some moose like the picture below shows two of them. This will become a paradise for Moosehunters. Also big coldwater trouts can be found, maybe some trophies yet to be caught and seen.

    4Cold%20Springs-Moose.jpg

Willow, one of my personal favourites, is the continuation of the Grand Totem River flowing into the sea not very far from here. Many ships have sunken here before because of the dangerous ricercurve, where the currents seem to pull the boats to the rock, which is known as the Big Rock in Willow.

    5Willow-view.jpg

Also the county is well known already for the wild horseherds it feeds. In the early 1900's , horses were freed some places nearby, because feeding them was getting to expensive and many of the descendants have survived to make a new breed of wildhorses , that have been spred all over the region, but because the land here in Willow is rich in grasslands, many herds have made it their home.

    6Willow-Horsesview.jpg

A closer look at these horses, which most of them never saw a human before. An ideal place to build a ranch, don't you think?

    7Willow-Horseclose.jpg

Sometimes whales come up to these places, which still contain some saltywaters by not being far from the sea. Some people already have come here by boat once in awhile to observe them when the big mammals appear to feed themselves on the plankton and shrimp that are common finds here. It is quite a sight and adventure every time.

    8Willow-Whales.jpg

This is the Big Rock, responsable for many sunken boats and ships. I think half a dozen or so wrecks could be found on the riverbottom nearby. Ever since the first settlers arrived some 350 years ago, the rock was a massive danger. Underground parts of the rock cannot be seen from the surface, but are so sharply carved that no boat can withstand its knivelike edges.

    9Willow-BigRock.jpg

Just on the side of the Big Rock, I found a stranded boat, probably some family or couple that wanted a lifetime adventure in these hardly ever visited counties owned by the Lavender Family out in the East. Sometimes these folks come here on thier own and without permission and spend a day or two, camping inside the forests or on the beaches.

    10Willow-Stranded.jpg

Hope you liked these two new townships of Lavender and the story that came along with it. Leave a comment or two and I will see you next week with another update.

    Hello, Mr. Bison.

Just what I need, ANOTHER CJ to track!!

    < grin -- only kidding >

What a wonderful start you've made on Lavender.  I am really enjoying this especially since I've been able to view it from its beginnings.

I never thought about starting a CJ basically from scratch without the region finished.  I am going to have to give this some serious thought and, if you wouldn't mind, start my CJ the same way.  Please let me know if this would or would not be a problem for you.

I do like your terraforming.  You are quite good at it.

I look forward to the development of another great CJ.

    Regards,

    Vandy

    Thanks Leech10 and GLENNI.

vandy, it will be my honour if you like my CJ so much that you want to start yours like this. Of course I don't mind.
I started Nexis of Genesis in the beginning to show you all how you can have fun with the game for many years, and you know, I am still having fun!!!!
So, if you like something in my CJ , do not hesitate to copy, it will be my pleasure to see you liking and using it also.
I don't have an ego problem to share my stuff!
    Have fun with Nexis.......lol2.gif

Before I leave for the weekend and then in two weeks for a vacation somewhere on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean in Maine, I would like to finish roughly all the counties of the Lavender region. Only one left now, which I will do sometime next week.
This is the Todswell County in the upper eastnorthern part of the Lavender Region. Probably one of the most scenic ones that I will do. All there is left is the connection of the Grand Totem River to the east, close to the sea.

    1Lavender11.jpg

Todswell is somewhat special, very rough land with a Highland and a coldwater lake deep below some very impressives and steap cliffs. Plus it has numerous little ponds all over the countryside which holds a lot of waterfowl (ducks). Of course this is one of the few townships that will not exactly be ideal for civilized invasions, but who knows, mankind has been very adaptive since its existance and this will surely not stop them from coming here either.

    2Todswell-view.jpg

A great variety of landscape and flora can be found here, too numerous to mention. These are some kind of badlands. Rocky hills and swamy tiny valleys filled with small ponds can mostly be counted here. Although it should be nice to visit, but not it's not created for all day living. All kinds of four and more-legged creatures can be encountered crawling among these rocks.

    3Todswell-Roughland.jpg

The Clifflake, probably the most attracting natural landmark of this county, is just below very high cliffs, which end up in extremely deep waters in the small lake. Rumours were some hundred years ago, that some people (Passerbyers) saw a monster in these waters, but you know, rumours stay rumours, right? The story died some 50 years ago, when people stopped believing in things that couldn't be proven.

    4Todswell-lake.jpg

This is a view of the clifflake below from the Highland above. From here you can clearly identify the various Flora growing in this township, which make it so special from others. This land is gouvernment owned at the moment, but no one really has been here to explore its details to find naturals treasures, whether above or underground. It would be a shame to find oil or iron ore here, and then we might as well say goodbye to this wonderful little part of this world. Let's hope not.

    5Todswell-viewfromabove.jpg

Have a nice weekend now and tell me what you think. Did you choose a county/township to live in yet? Where would you like to stay? Let me know....48.gif

I am glad that you enjoy this sofar.48.gif
I will be posting the last county later tonight, it will be a big upload. It also will be a different terrain, all explained how and why tonight.

Here is a pictureof the content of the mods used in the Lavender region, and most of them are in the Nexis of Genesis region also. That will give you all an idea what mods and cheats I play SC4 with.

Well folks, here it is all complete. I wanted a bit of everything in this region, so I included a warmer spot with this township of Lambton Beach. Now all I have to do is the detailing in each county, the worst and longest part....oh boy!!23.gif

    1Lavenderregion1.jpg

Warm winds from the east, encouraged by the sea, flow into the rivermound to give it a special micro-environment with warmer temperatures and different flora, since it never gets really cold here. But you only have to leave the beach for a few hundred of meters and colder mountain temperatures await you, pushed down from the surrounding mountains.

    2Lambton%20Beach-view.jpg

Beaches are so beautiful that they attrack a lot of sailors and tourists from north and south. It is the untouched feel of nature that draws them here.

    3Lambton%20Beach.jpg

This is an ideal place to do some diving, collecting seashells or just burn in the sun on these snow-white beaches.

    4Lambton%20Beach-sailors.jpg

But some beaches are still untouched or maybe harder to reach, because of the reefs or the rocks that sometimes appear near and under the water.

    5Lambton%20BeachBay.jpg

Here is a look of the Grand Totem River delta that is already mostly salty in this area. Three small lagoons are found here, which two of them attrack a lot of tourists and vacationers.

    6Lambton%20Beach-Midview.jpg

This is the largest Lagoon, people call it Laguna. Always protected from the seawinds, the water hardly ever whirls and seldom waves can be seen, ideal for a nightstay on their sailboats and yachts.

    7Lambton%20Beach-Lagoon.jpg

Finally the region is finished, and here are all the townships named and registered by the Federal Gouvernment of Northland.

    8Lavenderregioncomplborders.jpg

And here it is without the flora, so you can have a good look at the terraforming and landscape details.
Also it shows (the lightblue little spotted line) the land owned by the Lavender family that lives in Bellefield at the moment.

    9Lavendernotrees.jpg

Now, let's get to know Lavender and its neighbors a little better.
To the west are the mountains and hardly any towns are there, only small villages which hardly survive the cold winters amd that mostly in the northwest. In the north, there is more civilization, some mid-sized towns and even some smaller cities thrive there, which are in the flatlands, rich with rivers and lakes. But most of the population of Northland live in the south and southeast from here. The biggest City is Bellefield, which has a population of 4.2 Million at the moment now, down southeast 122 km.
Of course to the east, the sea dominates and further it is speckled with many small almost tropical-like islands which produce a lot of heat and which blow the warm airflow to the beaches of Lavender, causing palmtrees and other southern vegetation to grow only here.
Maybe a little strange to some, but I wanted to have a little of everything (except desert) in this region. Please don't tell me that it isn't real, I know that already, having traveled on all 6 continents irl. The story will not be real neither, be that be understood.
So you see , this will be different from the Genesis adventure. This is more or less somewhere on this earth, where most of it is already discovered. Nothing new to see and no space travel.

    A little about the story:

Almost 300 years ago, when this part of the world was discovered, land was given away to new settlers by the newly founded country of Northland. The further north and west, the bigger the land that one was given. This region here was given partially to a man called George Lavender, the great great Grandfather of todays Lavender family. He raised cattle in this valley and sold them further to the south every second season or so, but when George died, his two sons didn't want to continue their miserable lifes to raise cattle for only a few dollars a year. So they put the land up for sale. Since a lot of land in the south was available for very few money at the same time, no one was really interested in buying this land out here up north, so the land was abandoned and simply forgotten. The Lavender brothers left for the City of Bellefield, a small town with a lot of futur though at that time. One of them got shot one day during a pokergame and the land became the ownership of the other brother. From here on the land was simply transferred from one generation to the other, without really someone caring about it. The Lavenders made fortune in many different territories and with many different industries at the same time. The different generations of the Lavenders never bothered with this land anymore, until 1951, when the latest descendant of George Lavender ,which had five sons and two daughters, talked to his children about the masses of land up north he inherited from Grandpa, and that he never even has seen it. John Lavender is 55 years old. The kids, now most of them teenagers, were so excited that they insisted for father to tell them more about these lands and its history. Are they big, are they beautiful,do they have rivers creeks or maybe even a small lake on it? What did Great Great Grandpa do there? John Lavender couldn't answer, because he didn't know exactly, his father never really talked about it, since he too didn't know much about it.
The oldest son and his brother, John Jr and Henry, went to the gouvernment Landowner's Archives the next day to find the plans and the owner's documents of that land that father talked about. Once brought back home and carefully inspected by the father and kids, they were surprized how much of it belonged to them. Curiosity striked!...What does it look like? We want to see it, was the only thing father heard for the rest of the evening.!!
Even father John was so curious now that he called up his office and told them that they have to do without him for a few days, since he will take a week's vacation with his family and his big yacht to see some unspoiled land up north that supposingly belonged to him.
John told his children all about the family's history that evening and all of them were so interested and excited that they couldn't even sleep properly that night. Maybe some ruins are still there, where Great great Grandpa once raised his cattle almost 300 years ago, were some of their thoughts.....

And this is where the story begins this fall, the day they re-discovered Great Great Grandpa's forgotten land, the Lavender Valley. This will be the story of this family, the lives and generations, their dreams and their glory , the reality of misery and hard times and the worst of all.......our nightmare to become.

Here are some informations of the Lavender family today in April,1951.
The father John Lavender, 55 years old, owner of the Lavender industries,Lavender Motor productions,Aluminum and steel productions, electrical appliances Company and most of all the Financial Institution of Bellefield, a multi-millionaire's son and father of 7. His wife Carla, 49.
    Their children:
John Jr,usually called Junior, the oldest one and 20 years old and the most responsable one sofar and his brother Henry, not far behind with 19 years old and a little looseheaded, kind of a playboy to become. He loves the idea that father is richer than he can handle.
Diane, 17 years old and oldest daughter, already a fulltime secretary for father's Companies, hard working and resposable, followed by her sister Laura, 15 years old, she couldn't care how rich father is and don't really want to be a part of all of this.
And the younger three sons, Edward (Eddie)14, the cowboy, nothing stands in his way ever, so it seems. Howard (Howie)13, the philosopher, daydreamer and an artist .And the youngest, the kid, William, or *Billy The Kid* as father John usually and sarcastically calls him, 11 years old and the most curious and active of them all ,always staying close to father. He was named after an older historical and criminal character from another land, a film that father John once saw and liked.
John Jr, Henry and Diane already work in their father's Companies somewhere and all the others still go to school. Father wants to have at least one of them reach the University, and he has in mind his favourite, Billy. Father never had the chance to go to school, since he inherited at the age of 13 all the companies from his father when he died. And his Grandfather inherited it ealier, and so on, ever since the first son of the Great Great Grandfather George became the first millionaire in Bellefield.
The many generations of the Lavender family have been known all over Northland and mostly in the City of Bellefield, ever since George's son made the first fortune by buying and selling gold from the land-diggers. With the new generations of the Lavenders, their interests changed and their empire spred to many divisions. Nowadays the family is well known as the richest of them all in Bellefield, a city which is expanding beyond its limits. They own a big part of the city.

Hope you liked this last county and also the story and introduction. I will go on vacation next week for one week or so and after I will start the detailing of each county and maybe show some parts here and there, until this fall, when Nexis of Genesis will slowly come to the end to make room for Lavender.2.gif

Now, let's have some comments please and don't let it drop back to page 6 in 24 hrs47.gif

AWESOME terraforming. I can't wait for your city of Lavender stands high on this superb region.

1 question: is all your lakes and ponds at sea level? if not, where can I get the beautiful above-sea level water pieces?

This really inspired me to create a cj. Thank you, mrbisonm. I also was inspired by Nexis of Genisis. Thank you again. I hope to hear more from this great CJ.
