Chapter 1

Introduction

I already announced this CJ in my Nexis of Genesis earlier, but this is the actual opening of it.

Lavender region, so called after its first settler, John Lavender and his family.
First I will show you the development of the landscaping before we officially enter the story itself. This region is much smaller than my first CJ, probably even smaller than 20% of it, but behold, this CJ will be different and hopefully as good as Nexis of Genesis.
I will give you a guided tour of every county, once it is finished until the last and then we start from the beginning, the year 1929 after the war of the mountaineers. The story will be on earth in the Northlands, but not as we know it, more like a story, which it is supposed to be. No known places will be mentioned.
I do the modeling all by myself, directly on the terrain, no greyscale and no downloading of an existing map. These two townships or counties as we will call them have been done some time ago, actual the whole region is already finished at the moment, but we will see only one at a time every week or so. This is not supposed to be ready to start officially before November or later this year, but we can show some parts of it meanwhile. Once Nexis of Genesis has reached its end, Lavender will take over.

Here are some pictures, I will show some details next week.

This looks awesome so far, I can't wait to see what this CJ turns out to be, but knowing what you are capable of, I'm sure it will be grand.

Coming from the creator of THE original mega-city journal, and one of the best writers/city builders ST has ever seen, this looks spectacular. I can't wait to see more.

Thanks for the encouraging comments and welcome to some older friends and new visitors.

Here are two closer pictures of the first county, far in the upper northeast. Most of the rough terraforming is done, but the fine details are not started yet. I need to be in Mayor Mode for this and sofar I haven' found a name yet....lol
    Enjoy these.

First thanks to you all, I surely hope that you will enjoy this CJ later this year. The reason that the story will start later this year only is simply a matter of not having  enough time to do everything at once. I still have to finish my first CJ *Nexis of Genesis*  and also some BATting is still waiting for me (university set)...and others.
I also would like to release and upload some 30 or so Nexis Lots/BATs later this summer, which a lot of you readers have asked me to do so. These Lots/BATs are from my other CJ.

But meanwhile lets all enjoy the start of this region, the terraforming and the making of it.
Here are some pictures from the next county, the one just beside the first one. Again please notice that only the rough has been done, since I have to be in the Mayor mode to do the fine detailed work.
Yes, since this region is a lot smaller (not even the quarter size of Genesis) I will do a lot more details, plus with the experience that I have gathered during my first CJ and also by lurking through the other great CJ's, I will do my best to make this one even more interesting. I will not copy any one's idea though, but jeronij, one of my favourites has greatly inspired me. So did other CJ's.

    Lavender2.jpg

This will be the township where small herds of wild horses still roam, as you can see here. Of course we will see a lot of wildlife during its creation until the civilization enters the story. John Lavender, his wife Gloria  and his family of 5 will be the first to arrive to build the empire of the Lavender Valley.
Like I said before, *It was HIS dream, it is THEIR reality and will become OUR Nightmare*....that should be interesting!?

    Lavender2Horses.jpg

The next time I will add a third county, which will be just below the first one, in the east. It will contain the canyon river dumping into the Mainriver, named the *Grand Totem River*. It will be the mainstream that goes through the valley collecting the litlle creeks and small river from every side and it will disappear into another region in the west.
I'll be back sometime next week2.gif

    Chapter 2

    The Making of...

Here is County Nr 3, which is situated just south of Nr 1 (Sorry I have not found the names of the cities (counties) yet, so we will continue them as numbers).
Here we have the beginning , or let's say the entrance of the Grand Totem River, which will divide our valley into North and South. The further you go to the east (right) the larger the river will become to finally disappear again into another region. Also here is the junction of the Number 1 river with the Grand Totem.

    Lavender3.JPG

A closer look of the county, still some parts of the higher plateau, but also the beginning of the rich lowlands. The Nr 1 river has brought a lot of debris (sand) downstream from the Highland which have gathered at the mouth of the junction and which formed an underwater sandbank, dangerous for bigship navigation.(we will have a good story about this much later). Please remark how deep the river is in the east.

    Lavender3A.jpg

Where two rivers meet at a foggy point. an even closer look at the sandbanks.

    Lavender3B.jpg

Ok, now I have to run to catch my plane to Nevada(business), I will be gone 'till tuesday night .Have a nice weekend and try to catch some fresh if you are able to.2.gif
