Fiji Island

 

Welcome to Fiji Island, a paradise in the middle of Pacific Ocean that has everything you always dreamed! (Sorry for the bad english)

 

The island history begins in 1681, when the europeans explorers were trying to find a different way to get in the America continent. While they were navigating through the cold pacific waters, the weather changed and a terrible rainstorm started! The explorers tryed to keep the ship in the right way, but after a giant wave, they crashed their ship in a rock and foundered. Some explorers swan to the nearer beach and saved their lifes but some other didnt. In the next day, the live explorers saw they were in a beach and later they discovered they were in an island. There were no way to escape from it. So, they started to develop the island that some time after its discover, attracted thousands of people that liked to live near the nature. And it attracts many people yet.

 

Here it goes the first shot, showing the Downtown area of the island. I have to make many changes in it..

 

And here a shot showing the neighborhoods names...A difficult point about the island is the enviromment preservation, so, the cities have big parks to compensate the human develop in the island..You can see the Discover Forest Park, the bigger urban park of the world.

 

And finally, the transportation map. I don''t have neither any highways yet, nor Mass Transit System, but even so, I don''t have big transit problems..The biggest problems are in the inter-city transit, but intra-city is very good. You also can see the two Downtown airports. The Pampulha''s was the first one, but the city grew up and another much bigger was needed..So the Fernandez''s was built...

 

I hope you like it. Today I also will show some other things that will help me to show my region. So..Merry Christmas!

Guides And NewsPaper

 

Well, I was thinking about creating something new to help me to show the region to you...

 

This is the Fiji Transportation Edition 2004...It's a guide that shows the roads, railways, highways, etc of the region. When something new happens in the transportation area in Fiji Island, I'll report with this guide.(Think like it would be a guide..)

 

And the Fiji Island 2004, a "touristic guide" that will help me to show you the tours about cities, beaches, mountains, etc like I did in Marine Valley.. 

 

I also have the newspaper of the region, The Fiji Times, I'll show you later to show some news about the mayor, projects in the city, etc.

 

So, questions, suggestions or anything else...just post! Now, I'll celebrate the Christmas..

a million times better than Marine Valley!!  very nice region.  the exoticness(is that a word?) of the land with the careful placement of your downtown makes this region great.  this one looks a lot more "planned-out" than Marine Valley too.  very nice.

So..ipsolip, poorsburgh has nothing really interesting..the name is because it's a big area that only has low wealthy people...I think it doesnt have one rich house..but nothing special

Thanks n74704. I think the terrain and the tress really help to make a more beautiful city than Marine..and teh Downtown and the Poorsburgh, Zaragoza and Goose Park are really planned....Diagonal Ville is a real confusion..

Fiji Paradise Beaches

 

Besides the Downtown area, Fiji also has little beach villes that receives thousands of tourists every year that like to feel the hot wheater of the region, to swin in the dark blue waters and have fun in the crazy nightclubs.

First Tour --- Downtown

 

Here is the first close-ups showing the Downtown of Fiji..well, you can see in the pics below that I have to work yet. There is many abandoned buildings, repetitive commercial buildings, traffic problems and so on...

 

The night shot to the open-tour pic:

 

This shot shows the only building built in the Discover Forest Park, the stadium of The Fiji Lions Baseball Team.

 

This shows an example of a future project I can do..It's the Bus Avenues that in the future will be built around all the metropolitan region to solve a bit the traffic problems. This one is under construction until I find the Bus Stops On Roads!!!

 

Now, you can see the density project of the Downtown..The high commercial buildings, then the high residential buildings, medium density and the industrial/low density areas, like a step, from the higher to the lower....

 

And finally an aerial view of downtown...and the repetitive buildings.....

 

Here it finishes our first tour...more coming tomorrow..

Very nice Xurros, reminds me of parts of my region...Has some very nice points, but the transition from high density to low is too quick, you need more medium in between. Even so, it does look pretty good, so very nice!

Thanks Dippit! Cewl: I followed your suggestion and I rezoned all my Downtown again...I destroyed all the old downtown zones and start again..the result you'll see today, I think. Auz: It's not the real Fiji...I just like the name..The map is, in fact, the America Samoa...

 

Progress Railway --- The first Fiji railway!

 

Finally, after much discussion, the Fiji Industries Corporation decided the railway project that would be built along the mainly industrial areas. The railway is totaly used by freight trains and It's been a total success! Each day, more industries start to use the trains to transport their goods. 

 

And here a shot showing the Seaport Central Freight Station, that in the future will connect the main industrial areas of Fiji metro region to the two seaports that will also be built.

 

Here you can see a good usage of the railway. In all the morning and afternoon, you can see hundreds of trains crossing the industrial zones.

Hey, I'm back again..I was having some internet problems and it was impossible to post...I'll return to post today showing the new Downtown..

 

And just this pic to you check how it is.....

 

Really different from the first ones...You can see the commercial center, the high residential buildings, the medium residential and then the industries/houses...I'll post more pics today..

VERY NICE!  You should just try to grow it up a bit more and get some of the taller stage 8's, then it'll be PERFECT.

Tour --- The New Downtown

 

So...here is my weekend work..All the downtown was totaly rezoned..I didnt destroy the road system, just the zones..And here is the result:

 

And here the tallest building of Fiji Island, the Apocalipse Tower. You can see two importants avenues of the city, the North-South Express Way(N-S Ave.) that crosses all the city and the Crossing Ave. that runs through the financial center of Fiji.

 

Looking at the calms suburbs, here you can see the Municipal Fair, where the people can buy their fruits and vegetables all the mornings and have a healthy meal every day.. 

 

Coming back to the denser zones, passing through the Gotham Ave.(Old Gotham Bus Ave.) that now is open to the car traffic too...You can see the rush hour traffic is not good, but there arent big jams. And the difference from the pic I posted before.. 

 

And going to the Northwest, you'll find the HT Fiji Industrial Center, the Hydrogen Power Plant, the energy heart of Fiji Downtown. Also, the Zoo Park and the Condor Fire Station...

 

And at last, This shot showing the new Convention Center and the Armagedoon Tower, the first building built after the rezoning...

Well, I'm trying to develop stage 8's but I think the problem I'm having is the traffic polution that is high...Does anyone know any solution, like a Lot, Mod, etc...I'm starting to use MT 's like my huge metro and now new passenger trains lines. It reduced a little bit but it's too high yet....So...somebody help me.
