Well, Manu, here I am again to review your ideas... 3.gif Let me start off with some interesting comments on your city.

Nice subdivision layout again there... along with a gorgeous and nice-look stadium and spectacular tennis courts! I also like the fact that you are starting to host a new sports competition in your region as well... that way, you can promote more athletic events to your cities! One quick suggestion: on the highway leading to the sports complex, maybe you can add some more housing for the athletes (if you can) to have the sense of an "Athletes Village" feel of the Olympics! 9.gif

For the voting part, I will give you my choice: letter B (along with letter A, of course, because A and B are related) because your city looks great already that it really makes me think of living in one of the houses there! (hehe) And, I really want you to add some more public transportation throughout your city as well (buses, trains, subways, etc) to really cut down on your future traffic problems. I also want you to consider how you will combine residential and commercial areas close to each other so that there would be a sense of "mini-communities" where people do not need to drive to downtown; they can just walk towards a commercial street filled with little shops and restaurants where people can relax and spend their time. And don't forget to put in a bus stop on those areas too! 9.gif

Overall, it's another great city you got there! I love it!

Hello everyone. I apologize for taking so long, but school has gotten in the way with the start of my IGCSEs so I barely have time to hang out here in ST or Simcity. This is just a small update to answer the next poll.

617squad: Thanks for you comments, but if youre going to post a comment  which says exactly the same, please don't. lol

    Jim1994: Thanks!

simcityplyr100: Thanks a lot for your time, and don't worry, the worse that could happen, is losing your vice-president chair 15.gif

    spore415: Thanks!

    penguin007: Thanks!

    un1: Thanks un1!

wishfulanthony: Thanks for taking the time on thinking all that! Whoa!

Matrx999: I'm very glad you liked my URS Open concept. Thanks!

Okay then, lets get on with this mini update

After option A was chosen, the government got into work on a huge subway sysem which would travel throughout the entire city, with stations strategically placed.

    245.jpg

    247.jpg

    248.jpg

The government hopes the current commute time lowers by at least 5 minutes:
    249.jpg

In the next update: More infraestructure
                                                      Commute time graphs
                                  Next poll (hopefully)

NOTE: I know I haven't posted the point table for a long time. This is because it causes the end of my post and other people posts (after mine) to skrink. Does anyone know how to fix this??? Please help me

Well done manubeas. This is one of my favorite updates simply because you are utilizing the graph to show us how the updated infrastructure is going to directly impact an area of opportunity, in this case commute time. Looking forward to the next update to see how the new subway system improves the traffic systems.

Nice subway system. I can't wait for more. (Maybe if you could build some seawalls on the coast).

Hello people!!!!!! I am finally on a break from school and would like to welcome my first update in one month!!! I am soooooooo sorry I have taken so long but school is just WAY too difficult and I barely have time to take a breath. I will try to do at least two updates on this weekend, as I don't have school tomorrow.

    Twenty20: Thanks!

Matrx999: Thanks a lot! I especially did the graph pics for you, as you asked for them a while ago.

un1: Thank you! I personally wouldn't like to build sea walls because this is a country based in nature, and sea walls kinda ruin the landscape (although they look quite good in a big city) and the shorline is too low.

First, some developement pics on the north-west part of the area:

    250.jpg

    251.jpg

    252.jpg

A huge economical depression hits the city. The funds are down to zero. Residential Taxes have to be raised for there to be balance and will be lowered again when there is enough money.

    253.jpg

    The new income:

    254.jpg

Also, the government decides to import garbage from Bruno city for a good amount of exchange.

    255.jpg

Here is a graph of the total funds over a period of 10 years, where you can appreciate the couple economical depressions. As you can see in the red circle (or kind of a circle) the total funds, which have increased finally over the last year with he various changes made.

    256.jpg

This depression causes a harsh impact on the value of the currency. Here is the current and past exchange rates:

    Before

    1 URS Franc - 0.52 U.S. dollars

    1 URS Franc - 8 Mexican pesos

    1 URS Franc - 0.38 Euros

    After

    1 URS Franc - 0.31 U.S. dollars

    1 URS Franc - 4.7 Mexican pesos

    1 URS Franc - 0.223 Euros

    Finally some more developement photos:

    257.jpg

    258.jpg

    259.jpg

    Now the poll:

What should be the next step of infraestructure developement???

    a) More rail systems

    b) A monorail system

on page 6 where did you get those houses near the highschool theyre awesome, also your region looks really good

    and your cities too

i think on the first page you have a big building in the middle of no where which doesnt belong there

but your suburbs look awesome and your CBD's too.

    great job.

i like your work with the god mode trees, this is a very important aspect of realism, making the surrounding natural area look like you could go there and actually see it.

    keep it up!

Well, guess who's coming back from slumber as well to help you out make your CJ better... it's me! 9.gif

Your first update after your long vacation on your CJ looks really fantastic, something that I really might want to copy to my cities for my next CJ updates! I also love the expressway with toll counters too... blends in really well with your town!

As for your question again, let me weigh out the two for you, both advantages and risks included.

If you want to do Option A (create more rail, which is my option), it will allow you to expand more transit service throughout your city and region as well. It will also allow you to have a variety of train station styles so that you can build a complete rail network in your region. Although this is a cheap alternative, a disadvantage would be the presence of so many railroad crossings, slowing down road traffic. It may also increase noise levels in your city, leaving many people to complain about over-development of your transportation system. Overall though, it will be a great addition to your ever-growing city! And you already have an existing rail line, so why bother adding another form of transport when you can just extend it to your future cities!

If you want to do Option B (a monorail line), it will also be a great choice because it will take up less space for you to extend roads and avenues without obstructions (overground transport). It will also add glitz to your city as well because of its fast speed. The downsides for this one are that you will be paying more to build such a system, and it will not blend that well to the cities you are making at the moment. It will, though, upgrade your residential and commercial demand because your Sims will now have a fast, modern, and efficient form of transport that will lessen road traffic!

I hope those will help you... looking forward also to your next updates too!

Welcome back manubeas. Always glad to see another update. Thanks once again for including the graphs and financial figures. Probably not many votes because you've been gone so long we're not getting the views we used to. I agree with wishfulanthony's long and well-thought out answer. I don't believe a monorail line would blend in very seamlessly, and with the recent economic woes a rail sytem just makes more sense financially.

nice update there. i am not sure on the voting, but naturistically <--(haha) monorail doesn't seem to fit. a rail could go through any type of land (mountains, valleys, forest, bare land) and still look good.

    keep it up.

And this is actually a serious comment, not just a fancy one, after getting a 69 on a calculus test Im hardly ever a fancy-shmancy person, but THIS is simply EXCELLENT.
