I just discovered this CJ and just in time too. I enjoy everything I've seen so far wishfulanthony. My favorite part of update 4 was the shot of San Lorenzo Village. Have to admit that I zoomed through it quickly and haven't read the introduction to each update all the way through yet. Keep up the great work. I will be checking often for future updates.

Whats up with the pics? Can't see there being any more votes with no pictures.

Welcome back manubeas. Always glad to see another update. Thanks once again for including the graphs and financial figures. Probably not many votes because you've been gone so long we're not getting the views we used to. I agree with wishfulanthony's long and well-thought out answer. I don't believe a monorail line would blend in very seamlessly, and with the recent economic woes a rail sytem just makes more sense financially.

Well done manubeas. This is one of my favorite updates simply because you are utilizing the graph to show us how the updated infrastructure is going to directly impact an area of opportunity, in this case commute time. Looking forward to the next update to see how the new subway system improves the traffic systems.

Hey there manubeas. Glad to see you back. Great update as usual. I like the development for the URS Open. Also like seeing the regional overview pics that show the progress so far. As for the poll........simple and obvious decision........A!!!

Nice update. I'm really diggin the waterfall and the golf course. Thanks for including the budget and commute time stats. Maybe in a future update you could include the city ordinances you have implemented. I can't wait to see how the development of this city progresses. Keep em comin, manubeas!

Just caught up with this cj, and not a minute too soon. I love your attention to detail; the patience required for the hand terraforming must be incredible. dedgren said it best - "You own SC4 waterfalls!" The castle is also very unique. I'v never seen one in a city journal. Just goes to show the endless possibilities this game presents. Keep up the great work!

Welcome to the council jaqulina! I'm sure you'll have some excellent suggestions considering your long tenure with the community. I only hope that you can find time to make a contribution here seeing how you also have a commitment to the excellent city journal of Emerald Falls.

What a great update! The third pic with the docks is incredible. How did you get the terrain on the steep hillside above the rail to appear like that? Keep the updates coming often, because you now have another rabid follower who will check this journal daily hoping for one.

I can't wait to see what you show us when you do a full update. I really like the idea of the different cultures in one CJ.
-
Come on people! I know this journal is getting lots of views, so let's get some more votes in so manubeas can give us another wonderful update. Rock the vote!

My vote is for section 4 to be further developed. The area located southeast of the mountain appears to have great potential for fertile farmland which could provide fresh food alternatives to the sims in the region. I look forward to seeing whichever direction you decide to go with its development.

Manubeas, I know we are now almost 6 pages into this CJ but I've always been curious as to what City Ordinances you have enacted in your cities. Bruno City spent a significant amount of money on them, so I was wondering if 3 Mesas did as well. I would also like to see more shots of your in game stats such as budget, commute times, etc. When you posted those on page one it gave the readers a little more insight into what a well rounded game you've been playing.

My vote for the poll is to continue developing remaining cities with a few specific goals in mind for each one. The first goal should be to provide clean energy to the city through wind and solar power plants. This will continue to ensure a healthy environment for your sims. The second goal should be to continue to develop parks in the city. You have already shown a commitment to this with the 3 mesas; keep up the great work. The third goal should be to provide healthy organic food for your sims by zoning some farmland. However, this step might require an entire new city tile if you want to supply a large number of sims in surrounding areas with exported fresh foods.

While I understand it may be the look you're going for, I'm not a big fan of the generic grid pattern. It is possible to make a city look planned without using a basic grid. I like the history you provided. The area directly around the school is visually interesting, so you should try to develop more areas that stand out from the rest. I also like the different forms of power you are providing the city. Welcome to Simtropolis and continue to post updates for this CJ.
