I like this very much! I just had a look at the island on Google maps, and noticed that there's no lake there any more! It seems to be just a marsh. What happened? Did you drink all the water?

Anyway. I like the way you're telling the story of the island. That region is lovely... but I believe I've mentioned that before 9.gif

Great update! The story line gets more and more exciting, so it's good to know that it is "just the beginning of a long story" 19.gif

@psander : the lake has dried up and looks more like a swamp now ! and l'Etang Saint-Paul is very polluted ! But wait, we're just in 1654 ! You'll see why later !

*Some say a waterfall in America is so huge that it was named the same as our waterfall, or maybe it’s the contrary, I don’t remember.

I'm still in awe over that region you've terraformed. So detailed. Was it imported? I can't import regions, my game always screws up the elevation for some reason.

I love that waterfall and subsequent river. So scenic. I can barely imagine what the land would turn into if the sim"city" part of the game came into effect.

@ Archean : yes, the map was baiscally imported. By the way, I apologize for not giving credit to its creator, but I don't know who he is.

The map showed with precision the mountains, the coast, the plains and such, but I had to redraw every single ravine and river. That was the hardest part of the terraforming.

Just be patient for the sim cities, the first settlers haven't been all around the island yet !

Great work, especially with the map / terraforming. May I ask you how you built the landscape or which terrain mod you are using? Keep going, I am looking forward to more,

*****Small spoiler for The Mauritius Command, by Patrick O'Brian, below******

    OH MY GOD BENLEMAIRE.

(first of all, fantastic effort on the terraforming, secondly)

I am just now reading The Mauritius Command by Patrick O'Brian. It's a part of the Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin series. No big spoiler at all, but this island figures in it. It has just become 51830% more immersive to me, as has this thread. I would practically -beg- you to read the book (it's the fourth in the series, but can stand alone, by all means) if you haven't. It might inspire you. =)
