Marrast - This is just simply incredible work.  The time it must have taken to get just the way you wanted must be mind boggling....The fortress walls mixed with CD's Terrain Mod is simply breathtaking.....

It's incredible how this CJ has only 1 update an it's already at page 2. Imagine how it is gonna be when it actually starts to get ineresting. I think it's like the quote says: make fame and go to sleep.

Anyways, It's a lovely one update44.gif

For looks this is one of the best if not the best CJ around, even after only one update.
The walls and the nature surrounding Lindaraja is beautiful. Very original city layout, I have not seen anything like it here on simtropolis before, (but then maybe I have not seen everything), it will be interesting to see how you will fill this city with buildings.
Nice to see that you have not given up on making a CJ after Eladremme.

This is a great idea to a city journal. Can't wait for more updates! 44.gif

The way the entrance to the castle is set up is cool and the road layout looks great too. Good job (for one update)!

Marrast invented a new concept of CJ : only one update (but what a fantastic update !) and 42 (no 43 with mine) comments.
It's unbelievable. Probably the most awaited CJ of the moment ! 19.gif

I totally agree with fredval - we are all waiting with mouths open, what Marrast is cooking up. By the way, if anybody knows where to get the diagonal castlewalls, please PM me - I don't want to bother Marrast, because there will be some answering to do later2.gif

    To be honest, guys, when i've prepared the first update, i thought that you'll like it, but i couldn't imagine how much!!! 48.gif
    So, thank you so-so much for such an amount of pleasant comments! I've really enjoyed reading all these words! 36.gif
    As i always do, i'll try to answer some questions and criticism over here.2.gif

    To Sloppet and Mickebear: the stone walls is a part of medieval castle lot by Maxis, you can find it  at the official SC4 site. But diagonal walls are from Frimi2's site: http://www.simcafe.de/batindex.html

    To Kingofsimcity: Oh, well, i hope since you've asked your question, you already find all about diagonal streets, but still,  here is the thread :}

    To MissTonya: The land texture is a part of teh Cycledogg's terrain mod (as well as the trees), and aviable from his homepage: http://www.clefsdeschampsserrurier.com/CyclePuppy/CyclePuppyColumbus.htm

    To MayorDeRock: Well, you're right, but i've just plopped some walls and that's all, but it's only a beginning, and i already love the way it looks. I think that people find that amazing just because we can't see acropolises in every CJ.. But I don't thing i'm doing something really outstanding..
    this part of the CJ will not be about workable city planning, or successful managing.. This part of the CJ will be about history of the city. About sculpting the heritage of the city. So..

    To All: I've read all the comments again.. oh well, i hope to keep this CJ as intresting as the first update! 9.gif  Thank you every one again for your words!!! 48.gif

    And of course, i couldn't came up without some pics for you, my friends!
    But this is not an update, just some pics since i've had a little progress. Which is a very slow at this moment because of RLS 34.gif
    But i hope things will move faster soon 19.gif So, i repeat this is not an update 31.gif

    The first area i've started to develop is an entrance. So, finnaly, after testing some variatns, i came up with this sweet gallery:

    linda_chap002_001.jpg

    I've used roadtop arch lots, and nice looking pedmall puzzle pieces from the NAM, i think they fit really well there:

    linda_chap002_002.jpg

    Here is another view of the gallery:

     linda_chap002_003.jpg

    Let me tell you about the buildings. From the last pic you can see the Guardian tower (at the botom) and the Mercado de los Ambulantes (at the top) a market where all the merchants from over the world can sell their stuff.

    And here is an aerial view of developing area, where you can see an arena...

    linda_chap002_004.jpg

    Actually, i'm not sure about that arena, so may be i'll come up with something else on that place.. any way this is not a final version 18.gif

    And the last picture for today - an aerial which shows you the heart of the Lindaraja - the main square. Actually, i don't have a name for it right now, so i will give a name to il a bit later :}

    align=baseline>

    So, i hope to get more fortress areas developed soon, and teh second update will contain more intresting stuff.
    Also, i'll prepare a scheme of the different Lindaraja fortress areas... something like a general layout.. so, stay tuned 9.gif
    Good luck everybody!

    Very nice so far. I really like the way the streets wind up the hillside. Looks so natural and realistic. Can't wait to see some development (growing stuff that is). I know how time consuming the terraforming is. Kudos for your perserverance. Keep up the great work.

    Believe in only what you can prove.
