Interesting idea.

Seeing as I'm already using Firefox 2, once Firefox 3 sees a final release, I will of course make the upgrade. As for whether it'll be within the first 24 hours of the release... eh, might be, might not be.

@coolotter88: Actually no, it doesn't make you download new versions of Firefox, only updates to the version you already have...so if you have Firefox 2, it wont make you get 3, but it will make you get updates for 2.

If you install 3 however, it'll overwrite 2.

I'll have to try this out also. Thanks for the link and announcement thegameguy!

I have Firefox 2. It really works great here at Simtrop, but the help forums for it, were plagued with tech issues and moderators at their last nerve.

The main problem seems to be, too many major content websites, that are geared towards IE user's and not F2 friendly. F2 is actually packed with much better features than IE. Hummph,....go figure?!

Ooo, this looks like fun. I regestered, but I'll probably be offline that day for some reason or another...

I've been using firefox since version 1. The question is how much of an improvement over v.2 we'll see.

I'm an Opera person myself, but I might get it to replace my old version of Netscape as my backup browser.

wir3d: yeah it is the RC2 and not the final FF 3.0. Unless you managed to hack into their servers to get the full release.

Has anybody tried the new firefox yet? I'm using it right now, and it's pretty cool. No big improvements, but I also picked up a few extensions along the way.

I'm using it... and I don't really like it. My main concern is the address bar. I just hate it. I used to keep all the websites I liked to visit there, but now it's so messy and full of junk I don't want. Even with the addon Oldbar, I can't scroll to access all the websites saved in my address bar.

Been using it since beta 2 (which was a long way back now), and it's been pretty good. Had the full version since yesterday (on OSX, haven't updated my Windows comp yet) so it's all good.

I probably will someday. I don't use Mozilla that often but still it's there as a backup anyways!! I think that a new Mozilla could make it my default browser still, until then...

    IE all the way...

I might get Mozilla 3 someday, but not now...

    Heh heh. Fancy!

Also, when you start typing in the address bar, it actually shows full descriptions and favicons of possible matches so far, not just the url and an abbreviated description. Very nice.
