Game won't start...

Okay, my computer recently suffered from several crippling viruses.  My dad fixed it a few days ago, but I've been busy so only today decided to play SimCity.  

I made it into the game and noticed that the graphics settings were all extremely low, so I set them back where I had them before and it said I had to restart the game for the changes to take effect.  I shut off the game, and turned it back on.  When I start the game though, the computer locks up.  What is going on?

well if its showing the start up picture then go to task manager, then proccesses, and end simcity4.exe and restart

I've done that, but that doesn't help anything.

I got this progarm before and i just reinstalled it but now the textures on maxis items are not showing.

Well I have many ideas:

1.Other virus?

2.Very high grafic config?

3.A lot of task at your PC?

4.I don't have other idea. . .

you just need to find out what your Dad fixed and then you could unfix it. But your Dad fixed it to death. What you learn from this is that fixes dont work properly. Either reinstall the game and try again, or reinstall the OS. But be sure to google some articles about service packs, video drivers, mainboard drivers, DirectX, virus scanner and firewalls.
