    I've been very busy...
Okay, so that's no excuse for leaving you all without updates...sorry about that. I am still playing SC4, but have to admit I am still trying to make a five-star restaurant in Restaurant Empire and conquer North Africa in Panzer General 3D...but SC4 is still running and I haven't quit!

Actually, I have made some progress on the Granton waterfront, but not quite ready to reveal the new plan. The industrial waterfront was overhauled to create badly needed jobs.

In the meantime, I will provide evidence as to what I have been doing with my time:

In addition to computer games, I have taken up soccer. Since I can't play with adults (they are too rough) I have joined the Granton Little Soccer League under the pretence of being an assistant coach. In fact, I don't do any coaching at all (I have no idea what a coach does) so I just play with the kids. They still kick me once in a while, but I am getting better at the game.

    /idealbb/files/Soccer-Field.jpg

Oh, by the way. I finally got high-speed internet! You see, the house I live in is in the middle of a field in the country (you can see my realworld house in my avatar on the left). There is no cable, but the phone company just made DSL available, so I got it. Gosh, does Simtropolis ever load fast now! And Digby updates don't take nearly as long! (Whether or not they are more frequent is another question...)

    Hi Dweller,

first I have to say a huge compliment to your f***ing good city concept. I am really enjoying following your City Journal.

I have got a request to you... Could you send me all your habour stuff by email maybe? All these components are created by Pegasus but he doesn't offer these buildings as a download anymore. I would be really grateful.

Looking forward for your early reply.

    Best regards
    Thomas from Berlin/ Germany

It looks like the house is sitting on top of the fence. Also looks to me like the house is facing away from the road. Eg the back of the house is facing the street.

Ha! You're all wrong! Heck, you aren't even close!

If you look closely at the turquoise Roland Zeffer (that's a car...for those of you not from 1950's Digby)...if you look real close, you'll see the licence plate is from neighbouring Fairfax County!

How could you not see that...

(Okay, I'll stop being a dork and get on with an update)

The Carlton-Renfrew Railroad Company's Whetherford Roundhouse

    /idealbb/files/BAT-Logo7.jpg

It's time to have another look at one of Simtropolis' great BAT structures, this one by Oppie, who does very fine work!

    /idealbb/files/Spot---Whetherford.jpg

The roundhouse is in Whetherford, which, if you all remember, is the town inland from Granton. Whetherford has a very strong hi-tech industry base, and still uses a lot of railroad. A look at the picture below emphasises how Whetherford got situated due to the railroads.

    /idealbb/files/Whetherford-Rail-Satelite.jpg

Here's an overhead shot of the roundhouse.

    /idealbb/files/roundhouse001.jpg

Looking a little closer, we can see some detail:

Wow! I have not came back for awhile but it looks really interesting and always seems to make me think of the countryside more! Reminds me of my dad's house in Idaho, surrounded by famrland but the land is pretty flat though. Anyway, that BAT looks like a nice addition to your countryside and still, this is the best country CJ on Simtropolis! Long live your region and this thread!

*this was my 900th post, I have come a long way!

How did you get the yards to fill up like that? Are those lots? and if so can somebody make a lot with just intermodal train-cars for my LA Region?
