Well, I've been a little time in the forum, but I've been working on this city since I bought SimCity 4, something that happened almost 5 years ago. So, I decided to share it with you all.

Here is a general view. As you can see there are several rough edges, cos the city is still growing.

orthancmapsmallmk1.jpg

The region is a Northern Sea European-coast inspired area, with a main river and a big harbour-estuary, but its coast has changed through the years, some lakes have been dried, and new borroughs have been added.

Now, a view where I've separated the main cities:

Now, here's a composition made with the pics I've made through out the years, showing how the region grew and how the terrain changed.

My current work at the city, and all because of this web, is a full makeover of the main city center (the one in the upper right side). I'm adding a pic to be more specific:

What I'm doing is using the european buildings by Porkissimo, xannepan and odd from sweden to create a more european-like city, with diagonal boulevards and squares, alltogheter with a plan to pass to underground tunnels some highways and railways. And finally for this firt issue, I'm adding two close views of this european makeover. Later, I show you all my underground metro sistem with a map that I did some time ago.

Hope you all liked it. 4.gif4.gif

Beautiful work, but I recommend a water mod and/or terrain mod to improve the european look. Maybe the Brigantine water mod.

Excellent region, very very big and detailed!

Best of Luck!

Your region really has grown over the years. Your city boundries look better than the standard Maxis region ciy tiles.

Excellant long-term plannig and patience!

This is wonderful! The pictures of development were like a scrapbook of the region's childhood! The euro-makeover makes me want to go to Paris.

I like the growth pictures! Any close-up shots of the city-centre before it is/was tranformed into a more European styled city?

Nice work, but try a water mod.

I rarely like European Cj's but yours looks good.

I'm here again. First of all, just wanna thank you all for this great welcome 4.gif

I'm in the middle of the process of the full makeover of the center of the city, but as TRSTN requested, I'm adding a few pictures of the global makeover. Now it looks really awfull, cos I dediced to start the whole cities again, cos working with a made city takes a lot more time: dezonning, bulldoze roads, rearrange underground...

First, a little pic of the whole region. I made those diagonal boulevards that really look good from above. now I'm working on the edges.

    orthancregioncenterviewfv2.jpg

And now here two general city views. The upper right green part is actually the back of a tran station that is in the upper city. Railways join there and pass into a tunnel to the other side of the river.

    orthancgeneralviewboulefe6.jpg

An finally, a close view of the boulevard. Nothing that you've never seen before 4.gif

When I finnish the makeover, I'll post pics again. And now, a silly thing I did centuries ago and now is a little obsolete, cos I'm changing the underground system, but I think it looks good, so, here's a plan that I did of the full region underground map. It is actual, I mean, firstly I did screen prints with the transport map on, and put together all the pieces to create a real map and then decided how the different lines where going to be placed, and then expended them in a more sensible order. Then after that map, I did the other, more schematic and easy to read. Tough, I guess this underground system looks very difficult for sims to don't get lost 9.gif9.gif

    Here the messy first map:

    And now, the final version.

    See you all! 4.gif

Well.. maybe i could have problems using your mass transport system with that map xD

The region looks great. Seems that you have developed well the terrain

Coming along well! However, you should place some seawalls along the that river, without them it looks to unrealistic.
