I think it would be a good idea to have a better quality preview before judging, but from what i can see right now it looks very good !

Colors match very well, my only suggestion is to make bricks a bit smaller.

Mntoes, I really love these BATs, not only because they're all so British (like myself) but because they're so well made too You, iltonkso and gascooker and various others have done such awesome jobs at helping me make Simcity 4 more English!

I noticed how some of these look completed and/or near completed and some you said are ready for uploading, I checked your Stex page and can't find these ones you've recently created. If you have finished them and they are working properly, would there be any chance of finding them on the STEX? If not, is there any chance you could maybe send them to me via email or pm? I would really appreciate any help, because I would love some more variety in my villages and cities, especially to have more of your brilliant bats in them

Thank you top_dog I'm a little embarassed by your kindness. I have never been compared to two such fine Batters before   I guess I must be improving.

 

  I understand your fustration at the delay in the release of these and I tell myself constantly that I must work on Lotting more than batting to finish some of this work off. I was saving the latest bungelow to release later (i'ts the only one nearly finished) but I'll work on finishing it and upload it earlier. I'll PM you when its done.

 If you post a picture of one (and only one) Uk house I'll work on batting it for you but I still have one to finish for Callbat promised  in 2008 so a wait might be in the offing. lol

Quick update 

   Ok ,now we have a left and right handed version of this house. I can now go ahead and make the various versions that I want so that there will be several lots. 

Some pictures below  of a beter quality preview. (I noticed some slight tweeking of textures to be done and some more fine detail to add but these are the basic main models) .

The models look great!

I hope one of the tweaks is to reduce the brick size a bit They look a bit over exaggerated to me. I know they're supposed to be exaggerated a bit or they won't show up properly, but I think they look a bit too big.

It looks like houses on my street! Good work.

I would have to agree with psander, but otherwise this looks really great (the higher quality render was worth it ) and I think I can forgive the bump.

Erm...well I wasn't sure what i wanted, so I went around my village and took some photos of some of the houses.

I have one house (or rather, a set of houses) in mind, here are some photos of it (them)

Oooh nice choice top_dog I like both of your suggestions and some good pictures here. No one is will take some time so I'm working on the second choice right now.  I'm keeping you waiting for a progress picture though just for fun..

No worries if you can't it's just that I am having to guess a bit at the moment. I am guessing at the back too. I normally look at a building on Google earth or Google Streets to get the Plan of the building.

I will hold off from further work in the hope that you can. (But like I say no worries, I like to be reasonably accurate on the shape at least)

Well, Top_dog seems to be on a break for the moment so here is a progress reports on his request as I've deided to press ahead with work on this.

holy...that's looking swell so far!

I'm sorry for not getting back to you, I spent the last week or so in Holland on a business trip and just got back.

As for getting a snap-shot of the back of the house... Unfortunately the house isn't mine, and I don't know the owners, so I couldn't get a chance to get a photo of the back of the house.

Though I know it had a conservatory and the windows were pretty much the same as the ones around the front.

So far though, I really love it, I love the details too like the burglar alarm! Would there be any chance of making the roof a more brown colour? If not then don't worry, I'm really impressed with how it's looking, and can't wait to see it finished and growing in my towns

I had a sneeky feling it was your house, how wrong I was.. lol so don't worry about he rear picture I don't want you getting accused of prowling now do I  . I will try to make the roof a bit more brown but the roof texture is the thing I struggle with most.

OK top_dog progress so far on the rear of your building.

Bear in mind this is not finished yet (more detail to add).  Also I've tested a draft render in-game and deciced to ditch the porch on one side so that the house will fit onto a 1 x 2 lot. It just didn't look right on a 2 x 2 lot so one porch had to go.

Hope you like the new roof texture it's the best I could manage.

I'll keep working on this and try and finish it soon as I can but I have work commitments for the next 2 weeks.

Good Lord...and I thought the front looked great xD I love that conservatory to bits. Don't worry about the porch, they're pretty bulky houses, so it'll be nice to have them trimmed down so they fit a little better.

Maybe if you some free time at the end, maybe have the house again, but without the conservatory. That way it'll just make a bit more variety in the villages and towns. But now i'm being rather picky, and I understand if it can't be done. Really loving it so far though

Ok Top_Dog.    Sorry for not posting for so long, like I said work comitments.

   I have found some time to do a small amount of work on this and start the loting process. I think it's nearly there. A few more small props to make and were done.  I will be working on another version without the extention or conservetory and perhaps one more again. But it all takes time.

Progress

Hello friends.

Ok, top_dog  pictures of version 2 with work in progress in the lot editor. This is a basic version with no consevatories extentions etc (as requested). 

Shown here in standard definition. I may try to do a high-definition render but it took all night for my aged laptop to render this so it might give-up under the strain. :-(

I am still sticking with this project and am now working on thoughts for version 3. Again, sorry for the length of time taken but I'm a bit of a perfectionist at heart and you wouldn't want me to rush it would you..lol :-)

  I put a lot of time into making the detail in the plants. If I can get a Hi-definition render it should show more of this.

I'll also be making some more props for this lot so they won't all look the same.

Brilliant! I love the skip too! I never thought about it, but I see a lot of those in the drive ways of people's houses!

I think that will do, Mntoes, I couldn't possibly ask you to take any more of your time to make more of these. I'm really happy with these ones and I am dead excited to get them in my towns x)
