Your in game speed...

What speed do you most often run the game at when not paused?

So essentially, I'm interested in how people play Sim City 4 in relation to the 3 speed settings available in game.

When I am building new lots, zoning, editing, working out taxes, designing, stabilising funding and such, I always (mostly always) have the game on Pause.

Then, when I am done, if I need to computer to register what I've done (such as a new school, needing to get pupils so I can set the funding) I'll whack it on full speed for 10 seconds, then pause make changes and so on.

If I've just zoned a bunch and I've piped it up, MT, power etc, I'll take it off pause, onto top speed and observe the 'popcorn' effect of zones developing. (Providing there are no disasters) I'll wait for the popping to stop, then make my next action.

If I'm pondering or just enjoying my city, I'll run the game on 1 arrow (slowest playing speed).

These are my habits, what are yours?

I'm really a bit of an impatient player, always wanting results quickly, so I always Pause the game whenever I build or modify my cities in any way (adding Services, Zoning, remoddeling the terrain, etc.). Then I let 'er rip on Top Speed (what's the animal equivalent already?).

I’m a guy who just can’t guy right.

    I believe it's

    Turtle

    Hare

    Cheetah

That's what it was on the original Sim City 3.gif

    I play just like you.

I only put it on turtle speed when I want to zoom in and feel the vibe of my city. 4.gif

    EDIT: The animal equivalents are

    -Slow (Turtle)

    -Medium (Rhino)

    -Fast (Cheetah)

I play the Cheetah mode most of the time, cause I too am impatient. I usually pause the game when zoning or building infrastructure.

I usually play on rhino.  I only pause it when I'm doing a major road reconstruction so I don't totally mess the sims up trying to get to work.

I usually Pause while zoning and developing. When I'm done, I want to get results, and go to cheetah.  When I need money I also speed it up. If I'm just looking around the city, i go normal.

lol. yea... paused for building/zoning, turtle for enjoying my city, rhino for those moments when I don't want cheetah speed, and cheetah for quick development of new areas.
