lol. yea... paused for building/zoning, turtle for enjoying my city, rhino for those moments when I don't want cheetah speed, and cheetah for quick development of new areas.

I tried deleting the Intro dat file and instead of loading video, it was light blue screen with copyright for 2 seconds and then the game loaded...

hmmm... never thought about doing it that way.... usually I just have random roads placed around first for a more real look and then add housing developments on those main roads since I copy what they do in New Jersey which is where I live. In the older towns around here they usually have grids.. and from the looks of it, fusion method seems to work mostly for those suburbs with low density, of course... and I love making suburbs so I'm going to try it out

that's what I did.... I went through my plugins and took out everything I didn;t want or use, it used to be 1gb of files that I didn't realize were there. I decreased the size of the plugins folder and I increased the amount of my page file to like 5GB cause I have plenty of room on my hard drive for it. haha. It hasn't crashed since... this is funny since I did this before I came across this thread, so I agree that it does work.

I have the same problem but my computer's specs are great, but it still randomly crashes, usually on the bigger cities. My PC's specs: 2.2Ghz AMD Athlon X2 4200, 2 GB ram, 512MB 7300 geforce graphics, and almost 500 GB hard drive, and yet it still crashes randomly, but not every time I play... So I have to build a small section, then save, then build some more, and save again. I have to save often cause I lost a lot of work not saving in time.

okay, I am really disappointed with the new turnout for Sim City's direction. It is interesting, but I can agree that a new 3d look and how it will lag with our computers today, but did you have to change the way it feels and works. sim city has been a great game the way it's been set up since its been created. I was expecting to see the same view of sc4 but with curved roads instead of the disappointing options of just diagonal roads and not more, so I wanted to see more road options, lots of new buildigs, several options of police, fire, schools, and just more variety in general. they could have put the societies version into this idea. plus, it looks like it's close to City Life, and frankly, I hated City Life. Its not fun. I might just stick to Sim City 4 for a while... sorry, I'm a tough critic. I love my Sim City too much to just let it die off

face it. Sims love their cars. And so do alot of Americans, which is why you have to plan your highways and other roadways correctly, or you will be having rush hour all hours of the day. I'm still having troubles trying to build a city with a million sims too. It's hard, what you have to do is try different ways to make your city, or you'll never know what works.

And BTW, that last pic depicts I-64 outside of Richmond, Virginia, not I-295 in New Jersey. The 295 advertised on the sign is a different 295. Dead giveaways: -It says "Richmond International" on the sign to the side there -the largest exit number in New Jersey is 74, off I-95. There's no exit 177 anywhere in the state. -US 250 doesn't go through New Jersey.quote> oops. you're right. I keep forgetting that I295 splits off of I95 in a few different places, one being in NJ. And I thought the highest exit number was 67... cause then it turns into I95 again for some reason, and it's only Southern NJ's part of the highway that is a wreck. North is a bit better...I ended up driving up it last week, took such a long time...

A while back there was a comment about Europe's highways being better quality. It's true. the highway which runs through my town, I295, has so many potholes, bumps, and it' hard to control your vehicle at high speeds on it. They're fixing it though. I live in New Jersey in USA. accident on I295, im which traffic came to about a stand still so I got this pic. again, I295 in traffic. yay again. I love this highway. It's my favorite one in NJ.
