This community has evolved into one of the most fantastic on the web in the 5+ years that it has been open. Taking into account all the feats that SimTropolis has successfully accomplished, there is no doubt in my mind; SimTropolis b]definitely deserves this award.

And the thing of it is, we're not even a Cities Unlimited site. We are, at the core, an SC4 site. That later grew to allow TS2 stuff, and it was a natural progression to include SCS, but those games still play second fiddle to SC4... CU, on the other hand, is completely unrelated to those other games (save for also being a "sim" genre game), made by an entirely different company.

I suppose that really says something about the competition. ST wins an award for being the best site of something that isn't even its primary focus. We're just that awesome.

my congratulations to the team for achieving the necessities to be rewarded with this title!!

for me, as one of the few '03 members here, it was soo much fun to see how things developped here concerning sim city, and now seeing that the ST is rewarded with a prize for another city simulation game... awesome, really awesome!

let's see what's next ;-)

Well, to be fair, in 2003 there weren't really any "SimCity Clones" out there for us to have content for. SimCity Classic, SimCity 2000, and SimCIty 3000, were around, however... and they still get little mention here due to being "outdated versions". Which is a shame, since SimCity 2000 goes somewhere towards the top of the list of best games ever, certainly the best thing Maxis has ever done.

Still, given that things like Cities Unlimited are "SimCity clones"... where better to go to gauge things about them than the largest SimCity community on the web?

It may not be our main focus but given that the developers of the game have actually been here and gotten our input while it's still in development, we've in a way contributed to it more than any other site can or ever will.

When someone who's professionally making a game for a company comes to your site to solicit opinions about it, that really says something about the clout of your site.

I totally agree!

This community, although SC4 oriented, is really excited for CU! 

-Now, I haven't posted much in the CU threads, but I can say that receiving this award means a lot to all the members on this site and the SC4 community as a whole!
