Hi I am Josh6 and I have created a reigon called Animaltown. When I was younger (5), I had a lot of stuffed animals and I liked tall buildings. So, in my basement I created a little city and all the residents were my stuffed animals. So in commeration of that idea 9 years ago, I made my simcity animaltown.

So like in any large city, you need a large park; Fairmount Park Philly (largest inter city park in the world), Central Park New York. So I made mine! I would say Anipark (that's what I call it) is bigger than Central Park.

This is my park before.......the boxes

2uelf20.jpg

it was full of same trees with no fetures.

Then...

1zmicch.jpg

I foolharditly (how ever you spell it) downloaded something without reading the readme. boxes soon replaced all of my trees. That was the worst feeling ever.

But, it wasn't totally bad. This originally horendous situation forced me to a tough descion. Leave the park as it is, or reconstruct the park. I chose the latter- thankfully.

So here it is

el2qys.jpg

In the "middle" of the park is Ani Lake. It is a large recreational lake surrounded by trees.

There are two sunken North South Transversals that tunnel under the Lake

Next to the lake is a large recreational area called The great field. At the end is a musical amphitheater and a fountain.

Below the lake is the tourism center of the park- the zoo and aquarium. Zoo bottom Aquarium top.

The east west and north south transversal carries people to and from the park and to the downtown area.

There is also a large beautiful botanical garden with a large blue dome.

SPORTS

There is a polo field and a lacrosse stadium. MLL Pride... sorry New Jersey

Hi all, I haven't logged into this forum for months.

The site and forum is still lagged even on broadband.

The site owner should host at Godaddy.

Anyway, the parks look great.

A friend and I have SimCity4 installed again with all the best plugins.

 (Including the large railways)

I like making a central park with a large city around it.

So, will upload a screenshot next time.

A park in a residential highrise district, out of downtown.

well, not exactly a park, but inhabitants from the metropolis go here to bike and picknick... don't cross the bridge to the dirty industries... it might ruin your day off...

a park in a suburb

And of course central park in downtown...

Another open area I just completed (actually I went back and pruned some of those trees off the upper part of the beach later).  This is all natural open space with park pathways laid through it, some rural-style perimeter fencing and a small power source for the Great Lighthouse (available at simpeg.com if not the STEX).

full scene...

...and zoomed in.

Here's a picture of a 'strip' park in the middle of dense downtown, the sort where all the historical stuff ends up.  I really like how this turned out because of the consistent white pavement texture throughout.  Plus it's fairly simple, which I feel is more realistic.  Parks are easy to get out of hand with...gilding the lily.

Here's another one I recently redid.  Where the stream is there used to be raised rail on viaduct that wasn't really serving any purpose, so I stripped it out and put in a watercourse; and redesigned the rest of the park as well.

Hey Josh,

The tram is part of this at the LEX: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2306

The big column is Pompey's Column (an ancient Roman monument), which I'm sure is at the STEX, should be an easy search.
