Hey Nardo. The mix looks realistic indeed (I can also see this when I look around my hometown).

What your latest update is concerned: Beautiful pictures. I like 14.17 best (the farms look incredibly realistic there), but also 14.18 (very lively with that waterfall). And you were right, the R$ homes looked better there (probably because of the forested streets...).

Good update once again my friend.  I always enjoy a look at your farms....You do the slope conforming farms better than anyone.  In pic 14.32, the 4 apartment type buildings...are those white lines around the lot actually part of the lot?  It seems to really stand out....Just curious...

My favorite is 14.29 with the small cemetery with that statue nearby, just love the detail!

And in 14.33 I sure wouldn't want to go down that slope in winter and loosing my brakes! My guess is the little house in front of the intersection would have some unwelcome visitors in the living room

That's a nice little town Nardo. Unfortunatly I can't see the pics 14.25-14.27 (maybe an imageshack problem), but what I see looks really nice. The forrested streets looks beautiful indeed, but I also like the modern-looking mid-rise apartment buildings and the parks.

About my hometown: Actually, it is an urban center (there are maybe two farms within the city borders), but the sourrounding area is a farms/industrial mix with some businesses (mainly those who need more space).

@dhoppeii: Thanks for the compliment. About the white lines in stephenh'S Hamburg Appartmenthaus : I opened it in LE and on the big pic they appeared but I couldn't see them on the textures nor on the props ...
BTW: One of the few German BATters on the STEX he uploaded some nice more urban residentials in the last time!

Again a nice update from Grunthalhausen. The idea of a P+R lot next to your railway is very good, but howmuch I like the BAT I don't think the old Cityhall/market is fitting in this small German village.

Hey Nardo, really enjoyed this update.  I always enjoy a good Industrial update, especially when the area is done well and this one is.  The rail layout is great, it seems to cover the entire area without being too intrusive.  My favorite pic here is 14.40, the night shot of the rail station with the factory in the background.  Looks great my friend.

I very like all those small residential buildings with the farms near.Remind me a bit of my home town .All seems to be very well planed . the only bad point is IMO the market place,maybe too much red   (but it's a detail... )

I have to say going through the first pages i found nothing that blew me away but as the updates progressed my god i fell in love with your region.

 

First off i have to thank you for the tips you gave about the street shortcuts because i made that mistake too many times... Also loved the yellow text on the pictures, so easy to read

 

Update 14-4 is amazing... luv the rails and the density of the whole place (meaning I love when every square has a purpose)... You did an incredible job.

Also love your use of ploppable trees... 

 

Only concern is I just would love to see you fill more of the empty space with more building, trees or more ponds or parks...

 

Great job and please dont stop, absolutely cant wait till your larger cities

Hey Nardo. I'm glad that you found the time to finally post another great update.

I like the industrial feel of that area. The commercial buidlings around the station fit perfectly in. The Woolco with the large parking lots nearby (Where I live, there would be a a large parking garage right under the building to save space...) is a nice touch.

My favorite picture though is the railway junction in 14.38. It looks beautiful with the different trains and the nice details such as the little tower. Also the street corner with the pub and Woolco is a highlight in my opinion.

Hallo Nardo!

Ich mag that industrial area in 14.34, very lifelike, with all those trains. You know what, for someone who don't like trains you're good at creating stations!

Oops, 14.35 and 14.36 are no show my friend. (And if Dan is reading this, no it's not the stout! I just had water I swear to god!)

OK lets look at the others.

14.37 I like that station, got a very nice look.
The night shots are great!

And I was looking again at your other update (14-3) and found that I didnt mention some details I liked so here goes an edited post for 14-3

In the first pic, I really like how the railway goes diagonal, and then straight again on his embankment with rural walls! Great looking!

And the look of those apprtments building with their backyards adjoining the tracks, so typical!

I like 14.28 those dirt trails are again well used, it's just unfortunate that we cant have lots that could have diagoal endings so they could match a diagonal road.

Oh! the cheap appartments building are gone! Will the new tennants be as tolerant as the others for the proximity of the rails?

@Kwakelaar It was a bit different but I guess variety ıs something we all search here. I am really glad you like it ... see below ...

@jacqulina Welcome back, I already missed you. And you answered my question in adavance. Too bad I got some bad news today ...

... and this is REALLY bad news. My PC doesn't start anymore. W2K makes a blue screen after sometime and then stops. Unlike Win98 a blue screen in Win2K is quite rare as it is a rather stable windows (the best one IMHO).

My PC made some problems before - now it seems to be really serious. I guess it is either the CPU or the RAM (I once had 2 512 modules until one has quit its duty with the same symptoms)

Unfortunately I haven't got the money for a new one at the moment. Maybe I can find someone who can repair it (although I know quite a bit about hardware by myself)

Fortunately it seems to be no harddisk crash and I made a backup some weeks ago so most probably I can continue this CJ somewhere in the future ... question is only when ...

Thanks to all of you for your support - I hope this is not the end of Urland.

As soon as I have further - good or bad -news (hopefully good ones!!!) I'll post here. In the meantime I will be here on ST from time to time and lurk into other CJs.
