I am looking for some early 1800s type content. I have stumbled across the Wild West content which would fit really well but I am looking for more residential, industry, steam themed railroads and seaports. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to try and BAT and MOD some of this I would be very much grateful 3.gif

Not sure if these will fit your exact needs, but you might check out JBSimio's Smalltown Series (search STEX) and the MTP series on PEG's Site. Granted, these are not specifically 1800's, but some might be suitable. Good luck...

    CaptCity,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I already have the Smalltown Series (will definitely be used for a later time period) but I believe that there are some excellent lots I can use from PEG's MTP series. If you know anything good on transportation send it my way 4.gif

Glad to help. Also, found this steam engine style train mod you might be interested in. It's on NOB's site (scroll down to the fifth file). Thought I saw one on an English sight once but can't recall where. Maybe someone else knows. Hope it helps.

    CaptCity,

THAT IS A FANTASTIC TRAIN AND JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!! NOB has so many great additions to SC4, I wish that I was fluent in their language so I could navigate their site and find all of the great things. Thanks again, you are 2 for 2 do you know of any old style ports???

jerry101: Thanks for the reply, I think that SG's country store pack will be able to fit into the region from the get go.

SWAT-MEDIC: The region I am going to develop is in the Mid-West USA and I do not think that the row houses are a predominant form of architecture but I think I am going to use them in the mid to late 1800s. Thanks for the reply SWAT-MEDIC.

Does anyone know if there is a mod that changes cars to walking/horse/wagon traffic?

    Hi, projectadam.

You might want to look at the Wild West series by OnlyPlace4 (found here on the STEX).

Also, you might want to check out the Western-Style BATs by Dolphin66 at SC4Devotion.  I believe she uses the username D66 there.  If you haven't already done so, you'll need to register to use the LEX there.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Vandy

Vandy: OnlyPlace4’s material is going to be the workhorse of this project for a lot of years. I had not stumbled across D66’s work until you pointed me in that direction and she has some lots that are going to work out nicely too.

For those of you who are following this project,

I just wanted to again say thanks to everyone who has helped me on this project so far and pointed me in the right directions of some helpful content and downloads. I am still debating on if I am going to be able to pull this off or not. Not having a way to keep cars out of the game will ruin the feel of an area that is suppose to look like the 1800s and there is minimal content to create 100 years worth of development before I can get into the major bulk of custom content.

Anyways, the real reason I was posting tonight is to let everyone know that I have completed two tiles along the river with the floral and elevation. Only 142 more tiles to go
