    To Whom It May Concern:

Our rates of survival are dropping. It is not due to the possibility of the others discovering our existence; it is the dismal intellectual developmental processes of the studied compounds, which induces a chain effect that will be summarized as a hindering step in our protection. Under brief observance, the acceleratory composites of the studied compounds are below the predetermined levels of the genesis device. But under careful observations, it has been determined that the core of the planet is radiating an energy not detectable on the electromagnetic spectrum and thus, has not been identified after excessive research. We, however, hypothesize that this energy is mutating the values of the space-time continuum within the immediate premises of the planet. These mutations are in turn, are lengthening the time on the planet considerably, and damaging our attempts of harboring new allies. We must calculate a new algorithm that can be applied with fixing the values in the area. Or we can assume a larger operation, manipulating the entire space-time continuum of the galaxy, raising some of the values to stimulate faster time of our base of operations, and lowering the values of the border of the galaxy to near zero, which will create an impenetrable “shield” around us. Voting of these measures will be at high noon next week at the location provided.

                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                 CHANCELLOR ABANTA

Very nice . So far it seems like everything is growing nicely and the transition from the Farming Age to the Industrial age is moving smoothly.

Shingure: too bad that it’ll transition back to farming for a bit. Thanks for the great avatar, definitely sinister.

    Jacquilina: thanks

Etherian: thanks, I see someone appreciate my writing skills.

    7seriesdeadagriculturefz8.jpg

The new industrial district is starting to hit the agricultural quality of the area. The pollution is killing the crops and sickening the livestock. Also, the limited job availibity of these farms are hurting as well. While the farms are prettier, the populace is mesmerized by Ms. Melens efforts of industrialization. They no longer want to be associated with the insignificant farms of old; they prefer monstrous machinery and belittling designs of the larger, dirtier industry.

    7seriescontroversialgardv5.jpg

Capitalizing the selfishness of the sims, this new garbage removal system is of course, being protested by Ms. Meadows. “While I appreciate the move to relieve our garbage problem, we should recycle it, or even convert it into energy. But we should NOT just… throw it over the edge. While the abyss is seemingly infinite, that infinity doesn’t exist. For all we know, it may be a inter-dimensional gateway that’ll put all of our garbage somewhere else where trash shouldn’t be, or right back here.”

    7seriessymptomofgrowingta5.jpg

This new industry has another consequence, excess demand. A highlight of these growing pains is the desire for more commercial. These new commercial developments are in direct violation of Order J1834 set in motion by the environmental advisor. But the needs of the sims are not to be ignored.

    7serieshppybfsdairyds1.jpg

On the other side of Jenisus, the farming is doing just …fine. The competition has dwindled to two, and the dominant one is not Melony Melons farms, its Happy Beefers. Ron Olsen of Happy Beefers has become so profitable that most of the farms in Jenisus are his farms now. Running his near-monopoly, he plans to take down the big one, Melony Melens Agriculture and Industry.

    7seriesnewrailspurow4.jpg

The freight trains are starting to become more and more common sight, in fact, a way to common sight. The railways are starting to get full, requiring more. Jamil Herd concluded the meeting with only a small suggestion; create a rail spur by the freight station to have one spur for loading and receiving, the other for uninterrupted train flow.

    7seriesbeginningofworkdvz7.jpg

Early morn for the town of Jenisus. The fog is creeping up from the coast, the fresh dew, the… loud cranking sounds as the work day in the industrial sector begins. Its gonna be another day for the like of the sims, but wait! The board has concluded that the expansion started by Zach Riligus to achieve ascension can no longer continue with the small borders. It has been announced that a new plan will begin next year, Operation Spreading Wings. After New Year’s Day, Jenisus will send construction crews to areas surrounding Jenisus, creating new cities for the master goal of ascension.

Sorry it took so long, I was very busy.

Death54: hey, I didn’t notice the imbalance between homes and factories, thanks.

Kiwi n Grapes: smog?! no that’s clouds and fog, the smog is a yellow color in the game.

    imminentesplorationplanci2.jpg

The exploration crews will set out in the morning. Jenisus MUST expand, or else ascension will be impossible. So, the logical thing to do was to spread out Jenisus’s wings and to explore. With no knowledge of what’s out there, the explorers will just choose a direction and take it. They however, have a general idea as where they are going to go. This will be risky, but the rewards will have great potential.

    8seriesoneofmanyfertilewk1.jpg

It has been discovered that the land south of Jenisus is a very fertile land for agriculture. But there is business to attend to still. The expedition has aroused the curiosity of the citizens, now many wish to become hardened for patriotic exploration. Not sitting there, the mayor of Jenisus has declared the founding of a expedition colony that’ll provide housing and training to those who wish to potentially join the great exploration.

This is new state-of-the-art power plant represents the latest in the power plant evolution. Rather than using coal, it uses natural gas which is much cleaner, however it costs more. But that extra cost is worth it.

    8seriesearlystageofbasebq2.jpg

This is the early stage of the base. While the homes are low-wealth, they are perfect for the cause.

A few years later, complex has changed. The streets lead to the eastern edge of the city, with streets leading to the west in the works as well.

The Mintz Academy is named after one of the first explorers to die. He was a great man, and the curiosity of a child was a great component of his achievements. It is a rather small academy, but there are several groups that go on a specified day of the week.

Back at Jenisus, the board of advisors have advised the new mayor, Dion Vert (another devotee to Zach Riligus’s cult), to set up farming districts help bring jobs to the Jenisus Federation which would increase its expansion. So, the mayor sent construction crews due south of Jenisus Minor to begin the construction.

    9seriessectionofrhwtsrg1.jpg

After a few years, Farm Districts A-E are setup and running smoothly. The crowning achievement is the Rural HighWay Transport System, which makes more sense for the areas than the larger prototype highway in development. Farm District A is the oddball of the districts, for the RHWTS splits around the main residential area. The others feature the RHWTS going straight through.

    9seriesprotostageoffdaxi4.jpg

Protostage of Farm District A includes a wind power plant with low-income housing surrounding the area. At this time the RHWTS is under construction.

    9serieslowwealthhomedomtz5.jpg

Years later, the main residential zone of Farm District A is mostly low-income, but the zone itself has increases, with a new rail system interlaced in the farming areas with a rail line directly south of the main residential area.

    9seriesnewcommercialjobde4.jpg

Until recently, the only jobs the sims of A could work at were the farms, or commute to Jenisus. But with plenty of new jobs flocking to the region, the zoning commission turned the zoning adjacent to the main road in the residential area to that of commercial.

    9seriesnewsimgoobeheadqku6.jpg

GoobeRum from Jenisus has moved its headquarters to A, closer to where a majority of the sugarcane farms are. A grand new villa was recently constructed, where the elite inner circle of GoobeRum meet and live.

    9series2manyrailsmeetlz1.jpg

    9seriesconstrutionwrapuod1.jpg

Years later, construction of A is slowly beginning to wrap up, a few new additions are still needed.

    9seriesnewfacilityyg3.jpg

    9seriesnewdistilleryga8.jpg

Meanwhile in Farm District B, GoobeRum has built brand new facilities for the harvest and refining of sugarcane for rum.

Manubeas-sorry about the pics, but I did everything right, its probably your browser or some glitch of the forums.

For many years, exploration crews have searched and searched, with many successes, and many failures. While new lands are indeed waiting to be populated, they have not seen other intelligent creatures similar to their own. But one of these successes, turned out to be the greatest discovery in the history of the sims.

“What did we find today?” said this group leader. “Nothing but trees, trees, and more trees,” said someone. “I saw something some weird looking animals, but I couldn’t get good looks at ‘em, so I gave up after a few hours of trying to find ‘em again,” said another. “Well, we should take roll call,” the group leader said. “Allen, Bill, Carl, Dennis, Eggbert, Fred, Gregory… Gregory? Where is he?” “We must find him, go searchi… Greg, there you are!” “LADS, WE’VE MADE A DISCOVERY!” exclaimed Gregory. “Come, I must show you!”

    10seriesgreatestdiscovezj3.jpg

After an hour of chugging along in the buggy, Gregory has taken some of the crew to the area that the object rested. Dense forest quickly became a small little clearing, as they explorers stood in wonder. Towering over them was a large 90-meter tall obelisk. It was emitting a strange aura, humming quietly. It was made of black metal, with green, alien characters on the side glowing. In certain angles the consistency and the material changed. The object’s shadow wasn’t even in line with the sunray’s direction. It was as if this…thing…was something of a cosmic scale, something that the laws of science had no effect on. “My God! What is that?” said the awed group leader. “I don’t know, but this must be reported ASAP!”

Sorry for breaking the double-posting rule, but if this journal were to survive, this is the only way. Editing the previous post wouldn’t put it on the front of the CJ section.

    titlebarforcjyv9.jpg

Jenisus and Jenisus Minor no longer are sufficient cities for the existing demand and could not longer support supplying and training those eager for exploration (many explorers have simply vanished), and manufacturing goods for explorers and regular civilians. Groundbreaking for a new addition to the newly formed Jenisus Collection (Jenisus Union didn’t last well) began 26 years ago. Now, Jenisus Major has become a pretty sizable city, with a population greater than Jenisus and Jenisus Minor.

    11seriesmajorarteryofjeqs0.jpg

With the runaway success of RHW-4, a second system has been introduced as the major artery of Jenisus Major.

    11seriesfarmersbreathesm8.jpg

About 10 years ago, Camille Meadows won her battle against dirty industry-somewhat. Instead of totaling banning and decommissioning all dirty industry, it was compromised to increase taxes on industry, while lowering taxes for agriculture. This allowed existing factories to stay open if they could pay. But, this only affected private industry, the government still could operate and own dirty industry. Camille and her supporters didn’t worry, for they knew that the private industry couldn’t be fully controlled while public industry could. Jenisus still remains the same, since a few companies own most of the factories, and since there was little control over private industry, were still cheap to operate. In Jenisus Major however, no private dirty industry has formed, relatively extensive farms span over the southwestern quadrant of Jenisus Major.

    11seriespublicindustrymkc8.jpg

Since Jenisus Major provides more land than either Jenisus or Jenisus Minor, Jenisus Collection Overseer Kevin Lies of the Jenisus Church has received approval from the populace and board of advisors to create a new industrial sector to ease pressure off of the other dirty industry to manufacture parts for the exploration, and miscellaneous other things. This sector proudly boasts the use of the growing rail transport system, known simply as the Rail Line.

    11series-happybusinessowners.jpg

In the southeastern quadrant of Jenisus Major, lies the Better Part of Town. Traveling south along Brug Avenue you see many low-wealth commercial shops, humming merrily along even though many people believe that Jenisus Major should be better off than this. (I honestly do not know why the avenue is blank in terms of props.)

    11series-fastfoodisgood.jpg

The northeastern quadrant is known as the Slightly Worse Part of Town. Traveling north along Brug Avenue you see government sanctioned fast food restaurants, which is believed to be tastier, more convenient, and cheaper than home-cooked suppers.

    11seriesgreendoesntbrinwp8.jpg

One developer, Rodger Ther, thought that better aesthetics would attract some med-wealth residents. So grass and tree lots called Ther Greenery, were planted. He however, was wrong. After 19 years, low wealth homes still dominate the quadrant, apparently the better aesthetics were not sufficient in attracting wealthier families, but solidifying the poorer families liking to the city. Not to mention that the residents look at it, the greenery was probably not enough in the first place.

    11serieslotsofgreennogrxa1.jpg

    11series-abc123hasgreen.jpg

Meanwhile, this proves that Camille Meadows isn’t the answer to everything, as Betty Davis and Neil Fairbanks concur. In the Better Part of Town, med-wealth residents are slowly flocking to the vicinity of the first-of-its-kind Deluxe Elementary School, appropriately named Biggur Elementary.

Notes from Lead Scientist Victor Hanely

    • Research Facility surrounding the object complete.
    • The object is radiating an unknown energy.
    • The object’s is giving off enormous amounts of energy, all that is known is that it is far greater than anything we have come up with/have planned. We do not know the exact figure, but we estimate at least gigawatt.
    • The green material is unknown, the black material is largely lead.

I’m sad to say that I’m done with Megalis. Many factors have made making a City Journal a burden. Some of the factors are a slow internet connection and the game takes 5 minutes to load.
