Nice cloverstack! It really looks nice... 44.gif

I like the new junctions 1 and 2 too... they seem to flow nicely. Same goes for 3 and, to a lesser extent, 4.

Now 6 I REALLY think looks better now. Excellently.

And you really like those compact diamonds don't you? 3.gif

Ooh... a brand new highway!?

I'm really liking the ring road and the different interchanges. Very impressive. Looking forward to seeing more RHW.

    THE SOUTH LAKEFRONT RING ROAD

    REPLIES:

    ComputerGuy: Thanks.

    jacqulina: Thank you.

haljackey:  1) I'm glad you think it looks better.

    2) Yes, it is amazing.

deathtopumpkins: I'm glad you like the reconstruction.

Schulmanator: Impressive infrastructure? I agree, and it has a nice ring to it.

    kj3400: You'll see more... a lot more.

    rainyday:  1) Really? Thanks.

    2) I have sent you a PM answering that question.

ecoba: Thank you for your comments.

Well, I have been very busy constructing and reconstructing, and in the course of it I collected a whopping 54 images. Since 54 images would be impractical in one update, I am spreading it out by corridor over multiple updates.

The first part in this series will be the promised South Lakeront Ring Road.

Here is an overview of the grown city, embedded like a cell in a membrane:

    12-3.jpg

And a night view (yes, I did download Gizmo's night mod):

    13-3.jpg

The ring road begins at Junction 1, the southernmost junction, which is a volleyball interchange:

    1-69.jpg

And a night view. Note the lights illuminating the intersections:

    2-53.jpg

Moving westward, to Junction 2, we ecounter a trumpet interchange:

    3-42.jpg

This was a better solution than a Directional T because it takes up less space along the terminating axis, and the loop ramp enables closer placements of interchanges, while maintaining weaving standards.

Moving north to Junction 3, which is another trumpet interchange. This is also the start of the elevated segment:

    4-32.jpg

Going to Junction 4, which is the first interchange on the ring road with the full elevated RHW, and one of three interchanges which are not free-flowing:

    6-14.jpg

The road curves southbound, still elevated:

    7-10.jpg

Junction 5 is another diamond interchange, as well as the end of the elevated segment:

    8-5.jpg

Over to the east, there is another landfill, surrounded by beautification, along with an industrial area and solar arrays, which power the city:

    9-4.jpg

Junction 6, near the area, is a trumpet, and a continuation of the freeway which merged with the ring road at Junction 3:

    10-3.jpg

Also, I would like th showcase the expressway continuing into the core, demonstrating the new versatility of the RHW-6:

    11-4.jpg

And lastly, here's a regional view, showing South Lakefront's location:

    14-3.jpg

Patian County's opulation now stands at a resounding 6 million. But, it is far from over. I am contemplating, after this series is through, of an agressive expansion corridor to the east.

Please post comments, suggestions, and questions.

Ahhh.... I love the new RHW, and you use it perfectly!

Excellent nightshot, I'm glad you downloaded the night mod. I love turning it on occasionally and looking at my cities.

Nice volleyball and trumptet, both just seem to flow very smoothly and look very efficient. The elevated one looks very creative too... excellent El-RHW4 usage.

Nice other interchanges too, and the Junction 6 trumpet's overpass over the avenue east of it just looks perfect! I must try to replicate it. 9.gif

    EASTBURG TO ERINBIRG

    REPLIES:

deathtopumpkins: Thanks for all your comments.

    rainyday: I thought so myself.

    ComputerGuy: Thank you.

LE0: You can download it at this site. You need to register first.

Continuing the series, we now turn eastward to Erinburg and Eastburg. Here's the area:

    1-76.jpg

We begin in Eastburg, where the freeway that diverged from the South Lakefront Ring Road continues eastbound, encountering a landfill and elevated rail:

    2-58.jpg

The freeway then interacts with another, north-south terminating freeway, with a cloverstack:

    3-46.jpg

Going north on the freeway, it interchanges with an avenue via a parclo interchange:

    4-36.jpg

Moving back to the primary freeway, we enter Erinburg, connecting to the eastern portion via another parclo:

    5-28.jpg

Over to the east, development increases, as well as overpasses. There is also an RHW-2 corridor:

    6-18.jpg

The freeway terminates at a Semi-Directional T, and merges into another freeway, which is actually a larger ring road in development:

    7-12.jpg

Notice the lights, here shown in darkness:

    8-7.jpg

South of there, there is an interesting parclo, connecting to two roads, but it does the job well as well as minimizing weaving for interchanges this close:

    9-6.jpg

North of the Directional T, there is a parclo interchange with roundabouts, including an RHW-2 connection. The freeway then curves:

    10-5.jpg

The picture below showcases the RHW-2 connection to the residential area:

    11-6.jpg

The freeway then goes into South Erinburg, interchanges with an avenue with a diamond, and goes over a bridge:

    12-5.jpg

Below is a closeup of the rather attractive bridge:

    13-5.jpg

The freeway then goes on an embankment, and transitions to a high capacity parclo interchange. This one took some work before it was optimized for traffic flow:

    14-5.jpg

And the same shot at night:

    15-3.jpg

To the west, the avenue is an at-grade RHW, intersecting with the next one via a roundabout:

    16-2.jpg

And here is the next one, seperating a residential and industrial district, along with a park:

    17-2.jpg

North from there, the RHW transitions to an avenue, which turns into a bridge over a seawall area:

    18-1.jpg

North of the industrial area, there is an RHW-2 corridor which originates at this roundabout:

    19-1.jpg

The RHW-2 goes over the river, via a tall road bridge (which was default in vanilla SC4):

    20-1.jpg

Southbound, the RHW-2 connects to the industrial sector via a diamond interchange:

    21-1.jpg

    That's all for now.

Please post comments, suggestions, and questions.

Wow, Patricius. Some of the best interchanges yet. And lots of them. Too many to comment on individually! 3.gif

Keep up the great work! I look forward to more.

    A TEASER OF FOREST LAKE

    REPLIES:

ComputerGuy: Well, Obama Country is of a higher quality than usual, in my opinion. You're off to a good start.

deathtopumpkins: Hehe. I like to blitzkrieg the ST community with these updates. Thanks.

    sedimenjerry: Thank you.

    Schulmanator: Thanks for your comments.

De Ja Vu: Crazy? Thank you.

This update is intended to be a teaser to the next full update, which will be synchronized with a large update in Bluff Island, and the 150th in Franklin. Yes, the rapid-fire sequence of updates is coming, in all three CJ's. The first of the three will come in FC.

    For now, here's the teaser:

    1-82.jpg

Could medium density development be coming to Patian County on a large scale?

    THE FREEWAY TO THE EAST

    REPLIES:

    ComputerGuy: Thanks.

deathtopumpkins: Thank you. Yes, I have tried split avenues, but I don't like the every-other-tile medians popping up. So, I use OWR.

As the last part of the three-update blitzkrieg event, I present the new freeway to the east fringe of Patian County, and the cities that surround it:

    1-86.jpg

We will start in East Grantboro, the first developed area along the freeway's stretch, and the cloverstack interchange which is on the western areas of it:

    2-68.jpg

To the east, we see more development towering out of the street canyons below:

    3-54.jpg

Note the high-speed rail, which is in compliance with voluntary AFDES standards, even though Patian County is not a member (but is controlled by the same executive 2.gif).

To the south, there is a fused grid development east of the canal:

    4-42.jpg

Going northbound on the avenue, we encounter a parclo interchange with the new freeway:

    5-33.jpg

Moving eastbound along the freeway, to Millersburg, there is a parclo interchange with roundabout connections, which in turn connects to a commercial area:

    6-22.jpg

Again going southbound, there is low density commercial development:

    7-15.jpg

Eastward, there is an elevated stretch of terminating freeway, eventually intersecting the eastbound freeway via a diamond interchange:

    8-10.jpg

South of here, a rather interesting underpass completes the elevated stretch:

    9-8.jpg

Going along here and westward to South Millersburg, we encounter residential and business areas:

    Sorry for the grid

And somehow this building came up, which warrants a showcasing:

    11-7.jpg

Yes, it is the Washington Mutual Building, now failed, and swallowed up by JPMorganChase. Economic depressions have a way of instilling rapid change, don't they?

Moving south, there is a medium density apartment/condominium development, of a kind not yet seen in Patian County:

    12-6.jpg

Over to the east, there is a diamond interchange, utilizing the new RHW ramps:

    13-6.jpg

By the way, I need to download RHW 3.2. I haven't done that yet.

Going to Forest Lake now, there are more apartments, as well as another diamond:

    15-4.jpg

Note the seawalls around the lake:

    16-3.jpg

East, we encounter a lower density development next to a lower density commercial block:

    17-3.jpg

And here is where the highway which turns into an elevated stretch northbound begins:

    18-2.jpg

Lastly, here's a picture of Forest Lake in all its glory, with the large canals and smaller canals:

    19-2.jpg

    That completes the three-update blitzkrieg.

Please post comments, suggestions, and questions.

Wow, Patricius. Excellent development, especially that fused grid residential.

Plus that cloverstack's pretty impressive in itself. 3.gif Along with the HSRP line, though what AFDES standards is it in compliance with?

And it looks like you've got a bit of building repetition... 3.gif6-22.jpg

A NEW VIDEO AND SOUTH AXUN

    REPLIES:

    deathtopumpkins:  1) Thank you.

    2) I agree. AFDES standards? I just checked, and I found out that there is no HSRP section in the actual transit standards. My error.

    3) I do. I am taking steps to resolve that situation (demolition... 11.gif)

haljackey: I've taken your advice you sent in a PM, and I have made some progress.

    ComputerGuy: Thanks.

Today I will showcase two new cities: South Forest Lake and South Axun (Axun proper hasn't been created yet). Here is a region view:

    1-87.jpg

And first to South Forest Lake. Unlike most updates, where pictures are shown, you will have the rare opportunity to view a video of it:

    2-69.jpg

After it is developed more, it will be featured in the next update.

Please post comments, suggestions, and questions.
