The Patrician Showcase will be a sort of spinoff from my primary CJ, Patrician City. I will post here what I would like to show to you people, but would not fit in my CJ's storyline.

A quick teaser before things get rolling:

Nice! Very well done! I love the use of the RHW puzzle pieces, and the trees cover up any flaws, giving the city a very realistic look. The only thing I would recommend is a terrain modd. Nice CJ name too. Overall, I really like it, and keep up the good work!

Wow, nice RHW work, I like how you have a lane that merges onto the highway that goes to the next exit and then merges off. The filler with all the trees looks nice too.

If this is a teaser of what's to come, bring it on, I'd love to see more great interchanges!!

Here's a mosaic showing East Clarkburg. It is a developing town with a surprise in store (look at top left2.gif):

    Smarty218: Thank you.

    Schulmanator: Yes. They do.

I have a new region to show today. It is called Patian County and I have been developing it for a long time, and I think it is almost ready to come here:

    patiancountysatef5.jpg

    And a transit view:

I think I will show the beachfront strip first.

    Please post comments and suggestions.

Nice CJ. To get the most out of your roads and to make them look much more realistic, because why would interchanges be that beautiful and not have a reason to build. Try the American Traffic Generator. Click this link here for the Stex link.

Nice roads. I am such a straight line builder that loves to see what SC4 can really do. You have definitely encouraged me to make curves...(c:

moniquetoi: Happy curving! Glad I could help.

    Update will come soon.

So far your city does look really nice, and I love the complex interchanges, they add a lot of character.

    Whoa! Awesome CJ!

Now, why haven't I been here before?

Anyways, you have some fantastic interchanges! My favorite has to be that monstrous ave circle. Thats huge!

-My only suggestion is to get rid of the 90 degree curves on your elevated segments. one possible solution is to bring your road to a ground level, curve it, and then elevate it again.

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Sim_Air: Yes, that's true. It is massive, but both simple and amazing.

    Teeparex: Yes, they do.

Haljackey: Thanks for leaving a comment. I trust you followed the link in my sig from your CJ? Glad you like the avenue mega-roundabout. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'll be working to resolve that problem.

I have decided to show you Patian County -- and with a transit system that huge, what better way to show it than a tour of it's highways?

We will begin with Interstate 1, which is the oldest interstate highway in the region. This is the first significant point of I-1's northbound progression since it's beginning 1 kilometer south of this point:

    32634373nv3.jpg

It then continues through a small town and winds through a forest towards a major city:

    34593930wt9.jpg

That major city is Oakland, population 370,000. It first passes through a boomtown called Clarksville, population 75,000:

    29700545wv5.jpg

In fact, it is expanding so rapidly that retaining walls haven't been constructed on half of the sunken highway! Construction crews are going to mobilize immediantly to fill in that hole. For now, it's a raw cut through the terrain:

    75118485kf3.jpg

After another bend, we enter South Oakland. The undeveloped areas are slated for residential development in the future:

    11923614jf9.jpg

The sunken section of I-1 terminates, preparing itself for Central Oakland:

    48943836vl9.jpg

And now, like a gate, the overpass signals the entrance to Central Oakland:

    58263070jw3.jpg

Multiple overpasses and onramps go over us as we go through Oakland:

    51299659ib0.jpg

We now go through a complex interchange, midway through Oakland:

    11591315ha9.jpg

I-1 now transfers to a sunken highway as we approach Northern Oakland:

    25283063hq2.jpg

To the east we can see the 'Big Blue Building Complex', built decades ago by a maniac developer:

s_olah: Thank you. You will see more

The Western District tour will be in the next update. For now here's a new mega-avenue roundabout that serves 8 AVENUES:

    46712221vu7.jpg

Beautification and scenery will be added later and it'll be shown when finished.

Also, I have been experimenting with the Fused Grid plan. I have found that it works! It looks attractive, you can use the SAM with it, and it is traffic efficient:

    90477437dq1.jpg

The Western District tour will be in the next update. After that, I will showcase a fused grid city, plus the finished avenue roundabout area.

your roads are impeccable, but i think without your extensive and complex road system, your cities would be a lil blah, so although i think road structures are important, you city is also important too, so would concentrate on your cities a lil bit more also. 2.gif

Wow. That's a huge and complex network you've got there. Satnav sales must be through the roof in your city...

...but it does look great, especially the curving roads.

That is a SERIOUS roundabout! Way bigger than my 4 Y-stack roundabouts I did once. Impressive!

Hmm... Quite an interesting update. Well done!

To make your highways more realistic, I suggest spacing out your interchanges. This will reduce or eliminate the weaving caused by close interchanges, thus improving the safety standards too!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

WOW, all these replies already. Here's mine:

dfnva: Thank you. Although about half of them are experimental

    jacqulina: Thank you.

manman99: I am working on that. The last update was mostly experimental phase. More will follow.

Rictiovarus: Visitors will have to have a satnav system 18.gif. But the same was said of the Greater Terran Region....

    Schulmanator: Sure is.

haljackey: As most of my regions are works in progress, I am working on removing weaving areas and reqorking interchanges. Your advice is welcome.

edmonton_stinks: Perhaps you should. If you're talking about the fused grid, your Sims would have a good setup.

No update now. I just saw all these replies and thought I'd answer them.
