Eastern Bisson

Approximately 3.2 million years ago, a large meteor slammed into the coast of what is now known as Eastern Bisson. The impact was so powerful that it shattered the plates of the region, allowing for violent seismic and volcanic activity.

For millions of years the plates continued shifting and the lava kept flowing. But the land eventually settled, and the resulting environment was simply beautiful. People moved from all over the world to inhabit the land, and make it great.

I've lurked around reading some of the other CJs, so felt inspired to create my own. I may not be able to update very often, but will try.

Will have some up this evening. Still terraforming, though I've started a few cities. I was unaware of the tools available for terraforming, so I'm just doing it with the Maxis tools for now. Maybe I'll try something new on my next region. Thanks

Here's an early picture of the terraforming.

I still need to round out the giant crater.  You can see that since the impact, there has been some volcanic activity in it.  There are also plenty of smaller craters around the impact site.

This is only about half the region as well. By the way, I can take criticism, in fact, I encourage it. That's how I learn.

Bisson City, sitting just East of the impact crater, is forming fast.  But such tough measures must start from humble beginnings.  The Mayor sees the city as a future hot spot for tourism.  But for now, providing steady job growth and solid infrastructure is task number one.

Here is a look at the industrial district of the city:

Also, yeah, I'm going to start downloading some more mods.  Looks too sterile right now.  Thanks!

The Mayor of Bisson City realized that a solid transportation system was imperative toward his goal of a beautiful city. He spent almost half of his budget on roads and railways, knowing it would save time and money in the future.

I just now figured out how to remove things like menus and such.  They won't be there from now on 48.gif

I just downloaded the newest NAM, so I'm gonna play with it now.

Time for a little history of Eastern Bisson and its surrounding areas.  As mentioned, Eastern Bisson is a series of small islands and strange landforms off the coast of the greater region of Bisson.  Bisson City itself is actually connected to the mainland, but falls in the borders of Eastern Bison.

Far to the East of Bisson City lies Midgar Point.  Midgar Point lies on another large island which it shares with the friendly nation of Hipou. Midgar Point originally belonged to the people of Hipou, but was granted back to Bisson in exchange for allegiance and protection in the Third Great War.

Midgar Point was once a small rural town, but the new mayor, seeing the success of Bisson City, decided to expand.  He quickly put up an impressive highway system and began zoning for expansion.  But by the time the city reached a population of 10,000, money had run out.  School's were shut down, hospitals close, and many great projects were unfinished.  Here are some pictures:

Here's a look at the unfinished road system:

The "High Train Project" is now just a series of unfinished tracks:

New elections are being held next year.  Hopefully the next mayor can fix this crime and pooverty struck region, and fulfill the dream of the city.

Very nice industrial and low-income area. Maybe a little custom content will spice things up. You can also download the SAM modd for the road system. Cant wait to see more!

Thanks, bbfan.  My impatient made me want to jump right in.  So I was just getting things started with the content I had, and plan on downloading new content from time to time.  I probably will tonight 9.gif

Here's an update from Midgar Point.  A scandal erupted months before the new election for Mayor.  The previous mayor was run out of office, and a new one, Mayor Cloud, appointed after elections were held.

It turns out the previous mayor had been extorting city funds, giving bids to buddies of his.  Mayor Cloud had a difficult decision on his hands.  Should he prosecute the previous mayor, or save the money from a lengthy trial and invest it in the city.  It's tough letting a crook go, but the new school and library will have a greater impact on the future of the city.

Mayor Cloud, wanting to have a better feel for the city, moved his home and office next to the library.

And the new school by saving the city from another expensive trial it could ill afford:

The NAM 2008 would be a nice touch for the city. Also the Brigantine Water mod would work wonderfully too. Just look on the STEX. Also look for some residential custom content that you think is good for your city. I love the storyline so far. Keep up with the good work.

Mayor Cloud, finding funds insufficient for a successful revival of the city of Midgar Point, petitioned the government of Bisson for help.  He stated that the "road to Eastern Bisson's future led through Midgar Point" and that "A major artery of the region, with inadequate infrastructure, would ultimately doom the entire land."

The government granted the wishes of the mayor, helping provide for a new hospital, a more efficient police station, and several new fire departments.

The plan was a success.  Seeing the vast improvements to the city, investors began developing the downtown areas, while wealthy citizens, taking note of excelling educational programs and safety measures, found new homes in neighborhoods just minutes from downtown.

With money now flowing into the city, Mayor Cloud was able to ween his city off it's dependency of coal power.  The plants were demolished and cleared, making room for commercial develpment in the heart of the city.  They were replaced, miles away, with slightly cleaner power plants.

And with the room now cleared, here is a look at the once filthy, polluted downtown:

I also want to thank everyone for the positive and constructive replies. I am slowly downloading more and more mods. Most of them are growable, so eventually we should start seeing them.

With the prosperity of Midgar Point's citizens flourishing, Mayor Cloud has begun seeking development from the High Tech sector, promising them the untoughed, valuable land just South of Downtown.  The area has now become well known for it's beautiful redbrick walkways and alleys, as well as it's high paying and highly sought technical labor.

I'm liking this. But this is in serious need of some modification. Also, update in one big post, not in a bunch of small little ones. That can turn some people off.
