Great work with this cj! I love the concept of history lessons illustrated by SC4 pics. It's a truly original idea that's also executed very well. Your building skills are good, and I can't wait to see more of the different looks of New York!

Keep up the great work!

Piotr

Hi boys and girls, I think it's time for a quick teaser, what do you think?

I am answering all of your replies in the next update, so don't worry.

Here we go with 'The Pond' and I think everyone remembers this area as a dull, marshy piece of land in the middle of nowhere - back then in NYC, before the 'construction' of Central Park and therefore its' re-shaping had started. Honestly, I think that this has been a great achievement, having its' roots in the very original English and French garden culture.  Without any further ado...

"The Pond", one of Central Parks' jewels, shining bright in the colours of the Indian Summer:

I hope you like the teaser picture, be on the lookout for more,

    take care,

    lucky7

P.S.: For all you out who do a recreational CJ: I've found out that local.live has a different adress now. I am sure that you all know already 41.gif , personally, I'haven't known due to my absence 15.gif

    However, here's the adress:

This offers you great 'birdeye views' of your desired area.

I haven't figured out yet how a link works here - so maybe just insert the adress into the website search (such a shame...).

Mhm, I'd say it's time for some replies...

Victor Valdes   Thanks a lot, Victor, glad you liked the update. Be on the lookout for more, take care, lucky7

strikeout8         Well, concerning the historic urban development of NYC I have to say that it looked like that.

Additionally, I use historic photo material when doing a historic update.

Kryptowhite     Thank you very much. Yes, isn't it really misplaced there? Personally, I think it was very smart

to name it 'The Dakota'. Hope you return.

simcityfan12    Thank you, really glad you liked the b / w pics. May I PM you, because I might need your help.

strikeout8         Personally, I think there's no need to make everyone happy. Thanks for passing by.

    Victor Valdes   :)

alexr15             Thanks a lot. Yes, history with another aproach lol. Glad you enjoyed it.

krzakulek49     Thank you very much for your compliments. Well, historic contents don't always have that old touch of

boredom. More to come soon, so stay tuned.

ironicepitome  Thanks, and be sure to learn more ;) Hope you return soon.

Twenty20          Thank you, hope you like the small effect on the following picture, too.

    TmiguelT

Thank you very much. Well, part two is still a surprise - even for me...

panthersimcity4   Thank you. Well, it took some while to figure out how to best use all the different parts...

Schulmanator   Thanks a lot, Bruce. Maybe you return for another walk ;)

Kryptowhite     Thank you very much. I PM you concerning the ploppable rocks.

cmpd 123789  Thanks, glad you liked it.

TmiguelT        Thank you, yes, the view from the Solow Building is very NYish. Hope you return.

Larks2242      Thanks a lot. Wait until you see all the other lakes...

art128              Thank you, Arthur. Be on the lookout for more.

Hester              Thank you very much. Oh, I am proud to hear that your day started with a virtual walk in

CP. Glad you liked it and come back for more.

Petrovar Ambassador   Thank you very much, here we go with a little appetizer...

    teaserlw5.jpg

Here's another appetizer for you, before the next part of the Central Park update.

Looking south towards the Grand Army Plaza between 60th and 59th Street on a cloudy and cool day. You can spot out the statue of General Sherman on the lot I put together in the LE (btw, on the upper right you can partly see 'The Plaza' hotel):

    grandarmy.jpg

More to come soon, take care everyone,

    lucky7

Phew!... Just got through reading this entire CJ, and Lucky7, I got to say this is probably one of the most detailed renditions of NYC metro area I've seen in a while. You even included New Jersey and the Hamptons! You got yourself a new fan, hope to see more of this amazing CJ in the future (preferably my neighborhood of Jamaica in southeast Queens 2.gif .

Keep up the good work man!

You really do a great job with this Central Park, can't wait for more! " />

BTW, may I ask where did you find that plop rock from previous picture?

"Is it not cruel to let our city die by degrees, stripped of all her proud monuments, until there will be nothing left of all her history and beauty to inspire our children? If they are not inspired by the past of our city, where will they find the strength to fight for her future? Americans care about their past, but for short term gain they ignore it and tear down everything that matters. Maybe… this is the time to take a stand, to reverse the tide, so that we won't all end up in a uniform world of steel and glass boxes." - Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
