Nice cities! I especially like the Venetian city and the Provencal one (I noticed you used my BAT...yay 9.gif)

I also like the intersection in that Parisian-style city, I love the way the flowers and plants are arranged. 4.gif

UPDATE 12 – Do you want to visit a Monastery ?

Hello everybody and welcome in my C.J.

And now here is a new update. Today I present you a little Monastery, which is on the principal island, the triangular one, located at the mouth of the river.

    sph049ox6.jpg

    sph050io9.jpg

    sph048rh1.jpg

The unique access to the island is this small port, who is used by the tourists who come to visit the Monastery.

    sph042is6.jpg

Monasteries needs repairs and maintenance. Generally monks make cheese, or cultivate vineyards to make wine, and they sell them to get money.

    sph043vv1.jpg

The gardens of the Monastery are very appreciated by the visitors. There’s also a small restaurant (a little bit expensive, but as I said, monks needs money)

    sph044rt0.jpg

    sph045uj3.jpg

    sph047wu6.jpg

Don’t forget to visit the church. Twice a day you’ll hear the monks singing religious songs.

    sph046mi9.jpg

Near the Monastery you’ll also see the ruins of an old church.

    sph041qa4.jpg

If you want calm, tranquillity and serenity, you can stay some days, there’s also a hotel (I’ve not the prices of the bedrooms, monks keep them secret. I think that they’re not cheap...)

    *****************************************

And here is a teaser of my next update. This is not a definitive realization, I've some changements to make.

    sphteasertp4.jpg

I hope you’ve enjoyed it. Thanks for your visit, and see you soon !

Wow I love everything about the monastary... the walls... the landscaping... the buildings. I wonder what songs the monks are singing. I have a thing for old gregorian chants and organum.

Thanks ! It’s always a pleasure to have your visit. Serene is the right word, it’s the thread who unite my cities, and it's for this reason that I named my region "Alba Serena" (in Corsican language).

Thanks for your nice comments. I think that gregorian chants are one of the most beautiful things to listen.

Yes, monks have a good life ! Thanks for your comment and for the compliment, but in fact the castle of my next update is inspirated by the "Castles of the Loire". I’ll put a picture next time, these castles are very beautiful.

UPDATE 13 – Last views of Saphyre : the countryside, and....a very strange castle.

Hi everybody, you’re welcome in my C.J. !!

Saphyre is now at the end of its construction.

I did it as a rural area, and I had many pleasure to make it. But the construction continues, and I’ve 3 others projects for the Alba Serena’s region.

Today I present you just a little update for saying goodbye to Saphyre. It’s a mixing of all regions of the french countryside, from north to south. Fields of lavender or of sunflowers, farms, and a village with a red church.

    sph062cn1.jpg

    sph052em7.jpg

    sph053tz2.jpg

    sph058ho4.jpg

    sph059tk0.jpg

    sph054yh9.jpg

Surrounded by the fields and by a dense forest, here is the White Castle. It’s the second monument most visited by the tourists.

    sph051kl0.jpg

    sph055fq0.jpg

The second monument ? And what is the first ?

It’s the Haunted Black Castle. Yes, it's haunted. But why ? I'm going to tell you the sad story of Princess Ysabel.

Ysabel was a young princess. She was eighteen, loved by her parents, the Great King Andrew and the Queen Estrella, from Spain. But the princess Ysabel had a big problem... she was ugly. Oh yes, very very ugly. Really. His father was desperate, because he could not marry her to a prince. Indeed, all the princes of the land were saying : no ! it’s impossible !!! as soon as they were seeing her. And the poor princess was crying rivers of tears.

One day, came a prince from a far country. His name was Armand. And, when he saw the young princess, he immediately fell in love. He promised to marry her, because he could not live without her. A great celebration was organized for their engagement. But, during the ceremony, when king Andrew proposed to clink glasses, prince Armand took his wine glass and he exclaimed : No, it’s impossible !!!

The explanation is that prince Armand was short-sighted. And, across the glass, his vision was suddenly correct and he saw the real face of the princess.

Princess Ysabel was never married, and when she died, her ghost haunted the castle, searching for a prince for eternity...

    sph060nm0.jpg

Many artists come to Saphyre to paint landscapes.

This is my work. What ? Yes, I really did it !! I think I put it on a wall of my living room....

    sph059eaq2.jpg

I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit.

See you soon for a new update !

That haunted castle does look sinister. And hopefully the White Castle serves mini hamburgers. 4.gif In all seriousness, a great update, with great looking rural areas, farmland, and small towns!

Very nice pastoral scene there! That field of purple flowers sure does stand out, doesn't it? 9.gif

Luv White Castle. Can I get a burger there? Also, be careful about gas leaks. 3.gif
